I have been keeping house for 42 years. I have learned to decorate my home in time. What I have learned is that always use decor that sparks happiness in your heart. I surround myself with things that make me happy.

After buying a bunch of cookie cutter stuff at big box stores and then deciding I didn’t love the majority of it ,I to have done this. one of my favorite ways to find things that I love is to thrift/garage sale and knowing that I got things for such a great price always adds to the excitement. Today I found two gorgeous gold 11 x 14 picture frames that I had been dreaming of new and was able to source watercolor art to put in them from Etsy for my daughters nursery it’s going to be Beatrix Potter themed like you said take your time there’s no rush to make your home look like a magazine .

I’ve gotten into decorating the house more since we’ve slowed down with traveling. I am not necessarily a trendy decorator but lean towards a classic style that will last through a season and not as much on a specific holiday. Use the things you love, I get a lot of inspiration from RUclips videos.
You always manage to achieve so much and it must be very satisfying! Staying on top of the daily workload with kids is quite hard so I admire you for doing what you do along with having twins! Have you managed to have a night out yet since having the twins?
I have time to myself on the weekends, when my hubby is home, we rotate shifts. And when my in-laws visit, sometimes husband and I get to go out too. 😊

Loved to see your living room all cleaned up. I always feel more relaxed in a tidy space. I have always loved decorating and that draws my attention when I watch tv or look through RUclips. I get ideas and off I go. I’ve never spent a lot of money but I enjoy making a space beautiful. You made your space look instantly beautiful adding some branches and berries.

Hey, Jenia! I agree with you. It doesn't sound like your sweet cat is neglected at all. My cat loves to chew on any fake plants that I have as decor. I read that cats don't like citrus, so I mixed up some rubbing alcohol, water, and lemon essential oils in a spray bottle. I misted my fake plants with it, and now my cat doesn't bother them anymore. I wonder if that would work for you and your shoe problem? Wish you and your beautiful family the best! ❤

It's very cozy at home. But why is there a shoe shelf in the living room?is there really no other place for shoes in such a big house?🤭
Hahaha, yes, i tried other places, but the shoes just end up in the living room since both entryways are very close to that shoe rack, it has been the only place that has been working so far. 😃
