But this is what they did with their other games too. They opened up mods on it after a bit, allowing everything up to total conversion mods allowing players to use the game resources to play their own campaigns.
Act 2 isn't the weakest part of the game, it's just where you spend the least amount of time. I think most people agree that Ketheric is the best bad guy in the story, he has a sympathetic (or at least reasonably understandable) backstory and of course JK Simmons' performance is enthralling (no pun intended). That being said having more side quests or other NPCs to engage with sounds like a lot of fun so I'm really excited about the mods.
Not really, act 2 is just not that interactive and fun like Act 1 and 3. It feels very tedious and unenjoyable. I wish they had more npcs to talk to in act 2
No, Thorm being awesome has nothing to do with ACT2 being weak. Act 2 has worst and smallest map, least interactive activities, annoying exploration gimmick (shadow curse), boring missions etc. But yes, Thorm is the best villain on pair with Rafael in this game, too bad he’s killed off so quick.
BG1's campaign in BG3's engine would be a dream come true. The combat is much more flexible and richer in BG3, it would be a dream to play the original campaign again in this new engine.
Oh trust me the amount of comments I got about it in my last video were far higher than I expected. I certainly don’t think it’s better than act 1, but it’s still solid. The whole game can do no wrong for me personally haha
@@VeteranJoystick what is considered "Act 2" in this conversation? If you mean the Shadow lands and Kethric Thorm then I don't see how that's considered the worst when people constantly praise it.
Ketheric is the best antagonist in the game, but Act II itself is so bleak & depressing, I just want to get it over with so I can get to the city, out of environment that's frustrating to navigate, & pick up the OP items I've been waiting for since the beginning of the game. I'm over Act I, also, but at least that looks pretty & isn't a pain to get around in. Would love someone to bring deekin back from neverwinter nights. He was the best companion of any game i ever played to that point .. Miss that lil kobold.
@TheSensei88 Torture? Nah. Origins still holds up with characters and story. I recommend it to anyone who likes dark fantasy. I've played the game over and over and over again- At least around thirty times at this point. Being able to see it in high resolution, possibly with some tweaks to the story and making things more coherent? Oh, I'd sell my soul for that.
ACT 2 is alright, its just the shadow curse part that is a bit annoying on your 20th play thru - everyone just wants to get to act 3 to test new builds
When you mentioned modders bringing in a fan-favorite area from Dragon Age Origins into BG3, my mind immediately leapt to two locations: the mountain dungeon that holds the Sacred Ashes, and the Deep Roads. Both would be excellent additions to the game, one being a forbidding frost-touched landscape host to a fringe cult offshoot of a normally benign religion, and the other being a dust-choked series of stories-tall tunnels, filled with packs of demon-cursed zombies weaving their way through the cracks of the lower mantle, trying to break into dwarven cities. Anywho, guess we have the human origin joint now, rip Orzammar my beloved
@@VeteranJoystick Hell yeah, especially if you end up dragging along three friends who don't know anything about the series: it may be the only time they experience Origins ever, and they're doing it in one of the closest things you can get to an actual custom story house game of D&D. Yes, COS is heavily requested and I’m sure it’s being worked on in some capacity. We’ve also got the dungeons of the mad mage campaign which I covered previously, that’s a huge undertaking.
It's weird that so many people hate on Act 2, but really want a Curse of Strahd mod. While not the same kind of story at all, the Shadowlands definitely captured the vibe of Barovia to me.
Also there is a campaign already on nexus called "A night out". It's more... lusty I might say, but still a campaign! Short, but dev is working on it to extend it. If someone reads it, please give it a go - if you are in that kind of things ( warrning! 18+ content. )
To me it's the highlight of every campaign, that's where most builds come online, it's not overwhelming like Act 3 and it's not insanely long like Act 1, I always find it massively enjoyable. Act 1 is the one I find the most repetitive (notably because levels 1-4 are by far the most boring in D&D and I already played the shit out of it in EA)

@ maybe but every business decision depends on what they were offered by WOTC. We don’t know. but even without Larian WOTC could get a new studio to do the DLC using Larian’s work. The mods show how that could be done in a short time. WOTC did not want to pay for it, apparently.
That hub for other campaigns is neat idea ... but I would probably go with something more thematic ... there was Sigil - City of Doors for example? I did never saw it and dont know much lore about it but it sounded cool and like something exactly for that purpose :)
Bg3 could lay the groundwork for a dnd campaign designer game similar to super mario maker. Imagine it’s like fortnite creative maps and you can publish your own campaigns.

Calling Act 2 the weakest part of the game is wild. Act two is where the storyline and character power both hit their stride.
