He seems calm and relaxed. Doesn't seem like much visible pressure and I think that's a plus. He can now just coach and not be so worried about his job. JJ will have a job in or around the NBA even if he has a bad season and is fired.

@@melvincuaresma-SW Walk ons get evaluated through their performance in the game. It is all about 1 preseason game. That's all the FO have to go off of and players don't get contracts based on 1 good preseason game.

Reddick has to get Bronny on court as much as possible in pre-season, he isn't going to get many minutes in the regular season. It's a deal he and Bron have done I'd bet.

Lavine is a legit good choice since the Bulls would include a pick. Hayes+ D Lo (expiring contract)+ other fluff money/pieces for Lavine+ Bulls first round pick (Bulls already said they'd include their pick to sweeten the deal to get out of Lavine's 3 years with player option. This would then give the Lakers 3 first round picks to go after Wizards center/Kessler and also open up at least 1 roster spot to sign Christian Koloko to a roster spot. These moves would get them a shot making wing and 2 bigs to play with LeBron, Davis, Reaves & Rui. That sounds like a nice first rotation of dudes

The fact that Bronny isn't being consistent with how much effort he's giving in practice every day is actually MIND BLOWING. I get it, he's a 55th pick and isn't expected to do much production wise, but that kid should be busting his ass every day to get better. There are hundreds, maybe even thousands of better ball players who are better skill wise and do bust their ass every day. This is why you don't give guaranteed contracts to kids who don't even want it bad. I don't care how big of Bronny defender you are, there is no way you can defend him not putting out in practice every day and holding himself to low standards. Shit is maddening.

U know young players take years to develop certain skill sets they were once good at as top recruits like him but now in a league where everyone was the guy or has potential in college. He’s the 55th pick like my goodness, we never had these expectations for Svi or Bonga who were actually picked earlier than Bronny and we gave them 3+ years before an actual assessment. That could very well be a symptom of pressure. He could easily be overthinking and hesitating trying not to make mistakes. He seems to be a hustler on the court, so I doubt he's just mailing it in just because.

I think that as a "head coach" we are often looking for "pedigree" and less about technical basketball knowledge.
This year it will be interesting to watch JJ Reddick. He is going against the grain as far as what we traditionally believe a head coach needs to have experience wise.
