Beautiful truck and has the good old V6!!
You gotta luv the sound of that no sound deadening insulation in the doors and hood…factoreeee!
Good lookin' ole Truck!!! Love it!!
Nice truck!!
Thanks to Fire Depts all over this country for unkowningly preserving history and sheltering these classic trucks. Most buyers in the early to mid 60's were farmers, ranchers and contractors who used and abused these very low production number 4X4 pickups.Great find!
Sadly, no one will build a truck like this anymore. Todays trucks are crap!!!!
I've got one of these puppies from 1964 myself, just dropped 40 grand restoring it. I'm glad to see others appreciating this beauty of a truck as well, these are incredibly special trucks unlike any other! It's size is really something to marvel at, too. Love how they handle.
Half a century old and looks like a 3-year old used vehicle! What a score!
I remember that shift pattern from some of the school buses.
Would love to have one of those with the V6 Detroit Diesel...
awesome truck. my first truck was a 66 1/2 ton Chev . drove a 66 3/4 gmc for years as a daily driver.
I had the 1964 version of this in high school. it was originally a snow plow. Really miss that truck.
Your a lucky guy to have this truck!
beautiful truck, wish I could have heard it run, they have a beautiful sound, to me anyway
Time capsule thanks for sharing it. If I had the cash I’d buy it off you right now!
i had one back in 1980
it was a conglomeration of parts when i bought it and i modified it way more
i loved that truck
So badass, that 305 must be perfectly torquey for the rig.
Man,what a find.
I have one just like yours minus the the painted top and its only 2 wheel drive. But I love mine!
Hi any power steering
I have a 65 K1500 same as yours and was a Fire Truck used for grass fires in Lower St Croix Valley. Have photos with tank, pump and motor but that's all. 13k orig miles, LOTSA rust but all orig and now a roller in totally rebuilt cond. Interesting point, my alternator is identical to yours, no top "boss or ear" for adjusting arm. Volt Reg is identical too. Very very interesting video!!!!
Wow that's beautiful. I just bought a 4wd 1966 gmc burb👍
4 and a half inch bore on that 305.
Does it run?
wow talk about memories, as a kid. my pops had one that engine had its own sound. and dads had bucket seats i think he put the in. i remmember sitting one a milk crate a couple times. as we had company. th 4 wd stick was strange it curled around the seat i think it had 2 low ranges talk about a baby crawl. his front wheels were unlockable, also dad changed the ratios in ours. it was to low. yea the lay out of the dash and door panels bring memories.
Nice truck.. got a 64 K20 just like it except it's yellow
That thing would be parked in my living room don't care what the ole lady says.
NICE. too nice to modify. at all. Really too nice to even play in the dirt with.
Cool truck, I got a '66 3/4 ton 2 wheel drive with 305 v-6 in for $50 in '04 , the engine is rebuilt, but all I could use were the fleet side bed sides. I got a Texas chevy cab, doors& tail gait for dirt cheap, the hood is from a 65 chev , all together I stuck about $7200 into it, at the time I didn't have much money to spend. It had a lot of front end damage, It turned out pretty nice though, but it should have been a GMC, still have it though, the 305 runs great! check out my stuff ---gmc 305 v6 rebuilt first start. Cool vid Man!
she is a beauty
love it I would keep it how it is
Jody Rogers I'd probably run dual exhaust on it
YOUR A VERY LUCKY MAN!! WHEN I WAS 26 YEARS OLD I BOUGHT A 1964 CHEVY PU FROM TEXAS AND EVERYDAY I REGRET SELLING IT!! MY EX- WIFE RODE MY BUTT AND I FINALLY GAVE IN!! NOW SHE'S GONE AND SO IS MY TRUCK!! IF THE GOOD LORD MAKES A WAY FOR ANOTHER ONE - I WILL NEVER EVER SELL IT!!!!!
Love your truck I'm looking for something like it.
The 305 I believe is a small V8.
There was a chevy v8 that displaced 305 ci. But GMC did indeed have a commercial/industrial v6 that displaced the same amount.
At Donald Swink My 1995 c1500 classic rust free truck has that 305 v8. That would have came in the Trans Ams and Firebirds and Camero's also small entry level v8's!
OMG she is gorgeous!!!
That's a fine machine !!! I wood drive her daily
oil it down, drive it, leave it as is, dont ruin it
Do you think at night, the lighning is much better with for 4 highbeam lights like your truck than a Chevy Suburban (2 highbeam lights)?
Great GMC. Can you tell me where you found your bed mat? Did you cut it yourself or was it purchased that way? Thanks.
whats the little toggle swith do thats not labeled next to the knobs?
Very nice truck, keep that one as is! I've owned a 63 2wd short bed fleetside s a 64 4wd long bed fleetside& a 66 2wd short bed step side all awesome trucks. Going to build a prostrate version of a 64-66 soon.
Wanna sell it ???
these trucks were intended as work horses. this one is almost too pretty to put to work. I'll bet it would haul a load of firewood
Is this truck for sale?
Is that a true 4 spd or a 3 spd w/ granny?

sm420 transmission is a granny low. A tough truck trans, a little noisy but well built and nearly bullet proof.
is this 4 sale?
No
