    Sometimes, when things get rough before 8 you may feel Oberartz is not there but in fact he is everywhere and sees everything, and loves you ❤❤

    Thank you for showing us what a day in your life looks like. But may I ask a question? What made you want to choose anesthesia? You simply liked it or you just didn't have a lot of options? And please make a video about residency and working as a doctor in hospital. What exactly doctors do? When do they need to choose a their field of study? Did you start working as Anesthesia resident from the first day? Or you tried other fields too? Viel Erfolg ❤

    Very nice video! How many hours do you work per week? Is it more than what you were used to in Germany?

    • @EutopianDoctor
      @EutopianDoctor  8 месяцев назад

      Minimum 50. In germany I would do maybe more hours because in German the 24h shifts are common and getting a Saturday shift would guarantee a 64h week.

    Aw this was sweet! I have a question- do people have to disclose having a RUclips channel or potential earnings from it to their employer as an Assistenzarzt? Was wondering that myself as I have a small hobby channel and contemplating doing one part of residency in CH. Thank you in advance if you get to answer and love your channel!

    My friend, I have a question fro you : I’m a medical student and I follow your videos on RUclips… and well, I wanted to ask you something in particular.
    I have a slight issue with flat feet, which causes me knee pain when standing for long hours… but I would like to pursue surgery or anesthesya.
    Do you think this could be an obstacle?
    And most importantly… how many hours do surgeons usually spend standing? And how many days a week do they typically operate?
    I am asking as far as Germany and Swutzerland are concerned

    So, you finish at 5.30 pm but do you happen to know how it is with other specialties ? How is it with Neurology for example?

    • @EutopianDoctor
      @EutopianDoctor  9 месяцев назад

      Both surgical specialties and internal diseases and specialties alike stay even longer, since on top of the work they do the also have lots to document.

    Thank You for the story. Am still curious:
    So as I understood, You intubate/laryngiate next patient while current operation is still ongoing ?
    And do You have to plece periphercal iv lines yourself, or nurse does it ?
    And how competetive is anesthesia compared to other specialities ?

    • @EutopianDoctor
      @EutopianDoctor  8 месяцев назад +1

      Correct, the next patient is usually sent to get started about 30 minutes before the end of the previous operation when it’s clear that the operation is finishing.
      Who does what depends on the team, hospital, operation, etc. generally you divide the tasks between all of of the team members so you are more efficient, faster and everyone does something
