As terrible as humans can be humans are capable of great things, great social change and great kindness. As you can see from the video you see images of wars, conflict and turmoil but you also see peaceful protests, people living every day life, children playing together and a bunch of fun things. It’s not all bad. There are still good moments

Marina’s best albums in my opinion are ‘Electra Heart’ & ‘FROOT’. Very alternative/dance pop and they’re just masterpieces you might be very impressed

Marina has some great songs and all albums slap. I think froot is a good place to start with Marina. You can see how she’s grown and her creativity! She speaks a lot of about social problems and issues so if you want more of that her latest album is the way togooo

okeyyyyy calling a sister out.... U know what I don't even care! I'm introducing you to your new fave artist one annoying comment at a time... I don't even remember requesting Man's World and now that I think about it it would had been a better choice as an introduction to her. Oh well.... this is going to be a long post, but helpful!!
The Family Jewels: it's her debut album, very indie pop, the production is very out there and experimental, you'll see she had no singing trainning nontheless she has a good voice and good lyrics, she talks mostly about herself and her relationship with her family.
Electra Heart: very electro pop, her most popular album to date, not only she worked with big names in music but you can notice her growt too. It's a concept album, she develops a character called Electra Heart and the album is her diary in which she mostly talks about her failed relationships.
Froot: a fans favorite, very diverse in terms of production, though it loses some of that electro pop and brings up some more pop rock elements, it's storyline is very cohesive and she wrote alone all of the songs in the album. There are no deluxe tracks for this one.
Love + Fear: it's divided in two parts, the first half are love related songs and the 2nd half are fear related songs, it's her most controversial album cause it was not well received by a great amount of fans. To be human is from the love side. There's also no deluxe version.
Ancient dreams in a modern land: also written all by herself like Froot, a great amount of it during the pandemic actually, it brings her a little closer to her roots productionwise and has many ballads. Its lyrical content goes from the damage mankind can provoke to the course of history to the effect they have in just a person.
Finally, thank you so very much for reacting to her.... I really appreciate it and I really hope (and I think you just might) really like her. She became a pop singer cause she was a big fan of Britney and Madonna, and she was very influencial in Billie Eilish and Melanie Martinez's beginnings. You are really the sweetest person in the internet history

@@ashlenamusic great choice, you won't regret it :D she hates being called underrated but she is though!!!! Btw her name is Marina Diamandis (in greek that means diamond) so when she started her career she used her last name to create a sense of community, and she went by as Marina and the Diamonds and then at her concerts she used to say to her fans "I'm Marina you're the Diamonds". After Froot she decided to quit music and after a long period she decided to come back but she made some changes as she was in a different stage at her career and she wanted to feel more true to herself so when she released Love+Fear she came back as Marina..
Kind of have to chuckle at the protest (humanist) song that tells people to fly around the world to see other cultures, as if that's the only way to learn respect for our fellow humans... Flying is literally the last thing we all need to be doing right now given the climate disaster our world is barreling towards, and flying is one of the single worst things a person can do for their carbon footprint, second only to cruises. It takes loads of oil to fly, which ironically is also the resource we most often go to war for and where the most tragedy and division takes place. War is almost always about resources.
It doesn't take flying around the world to respect our fellow humans around the globe. Maybe it was important decades ago, but today the world is connected through world news and the internet. How about taking courses or clubs to learn about other cultures? How about museums or libraries? How about going to parts of town that are ethnic enclaves and checking out the stores, restaurants, festivals, etc, or forming friendships with immigrants? How about watching the loads of foreign movies / shows on streaming services, or all the various youtube channels that explore other regions and ethnicities, or listening to foreign music?
Some of the worst prejudice is happening right here in our own countries, and most of the time the segregated communities are only a few miles away from where we live. If we want to treat all the world's humans as equals... maybe we should start by doing more at home. And stop allowing our peers to get away with their prejudice. That doesn't mean disowning them at the first hint of prejudice, but a clear rebuttal is absolutely called for. It even works for things like sexism or bullying in the workplace.
Want less war and mass tragedy? Use less resources people. Fly less. Buy less. Use less energy. Ride bikes and take public transit more. The only person you control is yourself, so if you want change, start by changing yourself, and just maybe you'll become a role model for someone else.
If I've learned anything about societal change, it takes secure confident people to take the first steps, and the more people who follow suit, the more people who will follow suit, eventually hitting a critical mass that leads to the majority of society getting on board. Be the trend setter.

As a "Half-breed" Native American (3 yrs Marina's senior) who's been paying attention in this life, I'd say that things were absolutely getting better for those of us who've always felt unaccepted.. Hence why those who've always been accepted, are so upset today.. Equality was happening.. Weird that reactors keep mentioning this w/o being able to understand..
