- What up cool kids. If your'e anything like me you have been waiting for someone to review the light that is not sponsored by Zhiyun! So here we go..the light is good, that's the easy part. There is one MAJOR setback that you would only know if you purchased the light. I'll tell you what it is...if you hit the like and subscribe button!!

I got the combo combo 😄 when it was released last December, mainly for the portability (size and battery). And although it surely has its applications I found out that the small softbox included in the combo is not sufficient for a good light diffusion (what they also don't say about it) in most cases.
I really find myself carrying this light on everyday basis for small jobs (because the small bag fits anywhere), but I also take with me a 25" softbox for better diffuse the light.
Thank you for watching! Yeah I 100% agree about the small softbox. I think it’s best case scenario is using it for like hotel setup when you travel or something to set up a key light in a tight space.

This is one of the only few reviews I have seen from people that have actually bought the light. I am debating between the x100 combo and the G200. At the end of the day, 95% of the time I will have electricity near and they are both pretty portable. Extra power has always been a struggle.
Appreciate the comment! So I actually bought the G200 as well (for way under retail😏) and I have my thoughts on that and maybe I’ll do a review comparing the two. Long story short, if you’ll be near a power source for most of the time, I’d go with the G200. The built in Bowen’s Mount makes a MASSIVE difference, it actually turns on and off with the app, and there is no hot spot.
@@GDavisLunch I have 2 zyhun M40 portable lights. I have never really needed more power on the go. The only problem is that you cant put modifiers. On the other hand I have 2 Godox SL60, that are never enough light indoor, specially with a modifier. I will eventually get booth, but I am debating which to get first.
I have had 4 batteries gone completely dead on me. I have tried the chargers they recommend and still no luck. They die after 2 months of use. Just long enough not to be able to get a replacement or refund.
Wow, that sucks pretty bad. Sorry about that. My battery has been hanging in there.
same problem here. 2 dead batteries. I have to pay €50 to send each battery to Zhiyun, so they can repair them. The batteries are 3 months old and have only been used 3 times. The batteries have burned two chargers, from which smoke came out...
I just bought it today in a shop in Hong Kong, tge seller told me to charge the battery with pd charger from 20w to 40 w don’t go beyond 40 watt charger, I did have 100w charger to used, lucky he told me this
Same issue. Battery died at the 2 month mark. Just gonna get two appetite 60xs that I k ow I can use trusted v mount batteries.
I will tell you another problem I so far have had two batteries fail without really being used and if you want them changed you have to send them back etc.
Oh wow really? So what failed, the external battery or was it the light itself?
@@GDavisLunch it is the batteries. They seem to be charging then all the lights go off and nothing when you press the button to check the level. What I think is one of the cells go down. I do have a third which seems OK at the moment. I am in contact with Zhiyun but have not so far had any sort of resolution.
@@GDavisLunch The external battery each time the second of which I have here sitting on my desk waiting for Zhiyun to tell me how to get it replaced.
Yep they fail on you out of the blue it’s crazy! I had to send videos of it not charging and working. They sent me a new one though free of charge
@@adamhunter1664 I was lucky as I bought it through Amazon who give a 2 year warranty on all electrical goods. They arranged for it to be sent back and on arrival refunded me.
I just got the Zhiyun X60 60 Watt Version, Plus the mini octagon box. I like the light that it put out with it's mini octagon softbox
Man congratulations!! That is a really great light as well. I just got the RGB version a couple of days ago. I’m going to do a comparison of the F100, X100, G200, and 60. Stay tuned!! Hopefully it’ll be better sound this time 😂😂

this is so strange... i can only hear the background music but not the talking... I tried it on multiple browsers too. And since everyone in comments acting like there is nothing wrong I thought it was me but not sure if something changed on the video to mute the talking track?
I'm having this issue on my PC but not on my Mac...
I replaced the rubbish battery grips with the ZGCINE ZG-H90Pro Photography Fill Grip Handle. So much better now!

Problem with batteries for my 2 fiveray 100 also 😢
The bowens mount adapter from Zhiyun doesn't have a wide enough angle for the light to spread in a softbox, so unless you get the smallest softbox like the one he uses in this video, you will be getting a hotspot of light in your softbox. But the diffusion of smallest softbox is not good to use as a keylight. This, and also the batteries are of very bad quality (read comments everywhere). But of course every RUclipsr is gonna tell you how awesome the product is lol
My battery finally took the big nose dive as well. I’m sending mine back now.

1 problem for me in this video. . you voice only left side go out. . music left and right but the voice only left 😅. .
sir for the price is good. . that is 100w for that price you can bring any where that is good. .
and for for the cabel you can use 65w phone charge and use only type C to type C lobg cable. .

For me the sound level was way too low (ie vs. most other YT vids) so made it unwatchable. Not sure why or what prob. is (me, your vid or YT) but nonetheless so hard to hear it's unwatchable!!

The price point definitely was a turn off for me. Its being promoted as a solo light kit and then have like 4-5 of them on set for more professional stuff lol. No matter which price point, there's a better competitor. I can only see this type of light for documentary work. The 60w would do the job of how people are advertising the 100w
Definitely agree on the price points. Like you said, it’s a lot of good options out there. And yeah, having it now, I’m pretty sure the 60W will more than get the job done. Only thing is it doesn’t have a dedicated battery, which means I have to go through the same setup process as one of my bigger lights. The main stuff I do is talking heads for clients and my podcast, so the main selling point for me was easy setup and breakdown. If I were you, I’d honestly just wait it out, b/c it doesn’t look like these are selling, so they may do a BOGO just to move units like they did the F100. Appreciate the comment bro🤝🏾

There are not many options out there, believe. At this price point we are probably talking solo shooters. Sure, I have 60w godox at home, but I am not going to carry them. Specially when traveling. I would carry a couple of these X100 or G200. I also find that 60W with a softbox is not enough so is not worth taking.
Your sound is only on the left ear. The music is on both.
Biggest problem im finding with it, is a powerbank that will ACTUALLY output 100 watts so i can run the light portably at full power. Anyone find a powerbank that works ?
Anker has several, they're huge but they'll work.
Imuto makes 99wh one at 100w but after 10 min goes down to 60w. Later drops to 45w. I’d stay away. Anyone know if Ankers do this?
You need the correct adapter d tap p to a PD power bank d Tapp to usb C adaptor “Shape 100Watt hi directional D tap to usb c I pair it with the GVM BV 160 last a few hours no problem when I shoot weddings never need the full 100% brightness most time I’m shooting 30% brightness but 100% brightness last 1hr 30Min full power
Never ever trusting zhiyun again after 2 of my molus x100 batteries failing. Had to pay for shipping twice due to wrong shipping info. Then taking weeks and weeks and then having to pay for shipping to be received without telling me is insult to injury. Faulty manufacturer scammer buyers beware
