Thanks Ray - I'm looking at these for a project where I need air travel. Wonder if the Aputure Mini Dome III would work well with that adapter? Nice lightweight flat pack setup then.
I think a pair of those X100 and some tubes should be enough for most situation for a much compact lighting setup on the go, I used forza 60b which is quite small and light vs other cob light but X100 is less than half the weight and can fit into normal camera bag quite easily.
Hey Mike! Thanks. I showed it being used at Close range with a 38 inch softbox. And I think that looked pretty good! Even being back-lit by a window. I guess it depends on the situation and how close you can get the light to your subject, but I think this should do the trick. I was lighting interviews with a 60W Godox SL60W for years, so a 100W should do the trick!
Excellent.. you covered that well, Thank you. What size and make power brick did you use to charge the battery did you use? It is not in the equiment list Thanks again
Hey Jason. Thanks! I only showed it with the Zhiyun battery on it, and various USB-C wall chargers. Unfortunately, I don't own any of the Power Delivery Bricks (just V-Mount batteries with a maximum of 12V PD). Just keep in mind, when you're shopping for batteries, you will get Equal percentage brightness out of the light to the output of the battery. So 18W output will get you 18% Brightness, etc. To recharge the ZY battery faster, I use a 90W USB-C charger that Colbor lighting just sent over. *Working on testing out some new COLBOR lights if anyone is interested in RGB lighting.
Thanks for this test! It looks like the softbox and the dome diffuser have about the same light output when the light shines through them? I already have the softbox and I would only buy the dome diffuser it it's significantly brighter than the softbox. Thanks!
Nothing specific yet. I throw everything in a Pelican case woth other lights. Or I also recently found out, the mini softbox fits perfectly in the Zhiyun case (if you take the power supply out and plan on running it off battery).
@@sladjj no contract and no obligations to say anything nice. I make videos on stuff I purchase too so free stuff doesn’t matter to me. I’ll still say whatever is wrong with it too…as I always do.
@@RayValencia So you say, and that might be true but that's not what happens with the vast majority of RUclips. It's just pushing gear down or throats. We need more creativity and not office reviewers. More Jacques Crafford and GxAce. But perhaps I'm being too harsh. I mean no harm :)
No, I get it. I made this Lighting Series based out my office, like a show. Same “set”. But if you’ve been on this channel for the last few years I usually take the gear out on set with me. My only job is video production. My last handful of years has been as a corporate Videographer at HSN. Then about 2 years ago I quit corporate, and went freelance only. So I understand. Nobody wants to see an office RUclipsr that makes basic videos, but I’m actually out there using this stuff on real sets. I’m not offended. RUclips doesn’t pay any of my bills. I’m with you. Check out the rest of this “Ray of Light” series though, this was only Episode 1. Or any of my other vids. I appreciate you even taking the time out of your busy day to write me. Whether good or bad. None of these companies have limited anything I say. so it’s cool with me. It shows up in my mailbox and I do what I want with it. I’m sure some companies regret sending me stuff from my comments, and I’m sure some make money off me too. I wish I was the one designing this stuff before its released, lol
Ray of light!!! This is amazing bro bro
Thanks bro!! Now, I'm like what else can I use my name for? Sound Rays? 😆 🤣

Nice to watching.

Very good, but, i have one question 🙋♂️, how much time that battery is empty?
Yea... on %100?
Well explained video! Thanks
Can you please recommend a simple cheap stand for this light ?
Nice video! Do you think the x100 will be bright enough to perform inside a 120cm parabolic softbox for interviews?

Anker makes powerbanks that can deliver 100w over USBC, so I'm sure with some testing you could find a solution.
Yes, I ended up getting mini v-mounts with USB-C PD!
@@RayValencia confirmed, the anker provides 100 PD.

Hi Michael. Just different output types. The dome can light up an entire room due to its shape. The softbox is more directional.
@@RayValencia Ah, I am interested in the output for this case. Thanks though
Any recs for a case to fit the X100 itself + all its accessories?

I have never been paid for a video in all these years. How do you get paid/sponsored?! Seriously… money would be great. Lol
@@RayValencia It almost sounds as if you didn't understand what i said. Free gear is a currency in RUclips nowadays my friend.
