    I'll definitely take you opting out of saying the name over the white guy from the Zhiyun channel thats says 'Jaiyoon'.

    As always lux readings below what they promised. But seems they are on par with GVM650B pro. And with aputure 600X. Which is impressive for 500W light.

      i guess the digital power supply has very good efficiency (has to have to otherwise they couldnt build it so compact without going up in flames) - so for the 520W max powerdraw this might pump almost as much juice into the LEDs than some other lights with ~50W more power draw, wich would bring it very close to the 600W offerings.

    Thank you once again for your thorough examination of these new lights! I can't believe the amount of options we have nowadays compared to even five years ago (and the prices have gone down comparably).
    I do have a bit of an off-tangent question regarding the FL20G fresnel. I just bought the Nanlite Forza 720 and the FL20G. I've seen some RUclipsrs use this combination and they've had no complaints about it. However, the FL20G even has stickers on it not to use the Fresnel with over 500W of output.
    In my short testing I haven't felt the heat build up inside the fresnel too much, but do you have more experience or suggestions?

      Wondering the same,I have 720 and not yet have the fresnel for that reason.

      Good news!
      Newsshooter article on the fresnel: "What is interesting is that even though Nanlite recommended using the FL-20G with the Forza 720/720B, the Fresnel actually has a warning label on it that states that it should only be used with LED lights that are 500W or less. I contacted Nanlite about this and they told me that they have done extensive testing and the FL-20G is perfectly safe to use with the Forza 720/720B. They also told me that they will be removing that warning label from the product."

      @@KaarloMedia they are old stock, before the 720B existed. Nanlite approved this with the 720s and I use this combination all the time without any issues

    You often offer up a certain dilemma when talking about the DeltaUV, regarding the camera "working to the Planckian curve or the Daylight curve". How does one tell? I'm sure this has been asked an answered before, but I've never seen a reference to either in any of the literature surrounding my various Canon Cinema EOS cameras and I've always been curious about it.

    • @gaffergear
      @gaffergear  19 дней назад

      @@barrygoyette Most lights track to the plankien curve because that is a continuous standard that has been around for a long time. Almost every professional camera tracks the daylight curve. That's where D50, D55 and D65 live.
      Some lighting manufacturers are starting to track to the daylight curve (actual metered daylight averages) to match to cameras and actual daylight.
      So the can of worms is, I actually don't want to say that most lighting companies are wrong.

    • @gaffergear
      @gaffergear  19 дней назад

      If your camera mentions anywhere in its literature D50 D55 or D65 then it definitely tracks to the daylight curve.
