I can't remember a time a *rude* customer made me cry (probably has happened though), but one time I was having a really, really bad day because of some stuff from my personal life: I was taking a customer's order, choking on my words with glassy eyes then she stopped in the middle of a sentence and asked me if I was okay. I bawled out immediately and she immediately offered me a hug (and I accepted). It took her a while to leave the store because she wanted to know if I was okay (I was led to the back by coworkers). I feel her -- customers can be awful sometimes. As a fast food employee with anxiety myself I've definitely felt the struggle. I wish customers would see us as humans rather than slaves that aren't allowed to make a mistake :/
I remember one time when I used to work at a pizza shop and.... it was actually my last day of work so it really sucked but everything seemed to go to hell that evening. You can place online orders as well as over the phone orders and even though my manager told the employees to not take anymore phone orders, there was the one girl who kept answering the phone anyways (why? I don’t know) and there were 8 online orders that came in at the same time, and then our regular oven broke so they had to use the backup oven which cooks 2x less the amount of food at a slower rate and not to mention our floor was *full* and to add to all that one of our delivery drivers and one of our kitchen workers called out that evening. All that combined made for a 2 hour wait time that the cashiers weren’t informed of until an hour after that wait time applied to orders. It sucked for the customers as well the employees. Thankfully most of the customers were super generous and some of them even gave some pity tips *but* there was this one table that had two ladies that would. not. let it. go. They were offered a full refund, we gave them so many apologies, but they kept coming to the counter and telling us how terribly we disappointed them and let them down by having the food take so long (as if any of us could have fixed it) and they even stopped our dishwasher who came out from the back to get more dishes to wash to tell him what happened and how they are in absolute despair bc of their dining experience. All of us cashiers listened to them and just kept apologizing but the dishwasher *hated* how those ladies kept treating us so he politely told her off and it made me so happy. I don’t remember exactly what he said but it went along the lines of “I don’t know what more you can expect us to do for you right now. We’ve listened to your complaints, we’ve done what we can to fix the issue. All you’re doing by continuing to talk to our employees is slow us down in our work which will only make things take longer.” That was an awful night (I’m just thankful I don’t have that job anymore)
oh geez im sorry that happened. i went to a McDonald's and they were taking at least 15 min to give food. as i was waiting i was getting really annoyed. when the lady gave me my food i was about to say something. she told me they only had three people working. i felt so bad and told her it wasn't a big deal. i am pretty sure they got some rude entitled people still that refused to understand or straight up didn't because they never worked that kind or job or worked at all .

I worked for Taco Bell, and a similar thing happened to one of my coworkers who was also a young girl, and I did my best to keep quiet and stay out of the situation. However, my manager stood up for my coworker and told this woman who was being rude to my coworker, “get the F out of my restaurant! You gonna be rude like that to my workers over a simple mistake, you can get the F out of here!” Needless to say, our boss was our hero that say. My coworker was happy that our manager was willing to stand up for her, and I ran around the corner because I was trying so hard not to laugh at the customer’s shocked and intimidated expression. EDIT: In case you’re wondering why I was laughing, it’s because I thought this customer was going to get away with being rude and making my coworker upset, but then things changed when my manager came out of nowhere and basically told her to screw off. XD
If you don’t mind me asking, did you work at a Taco Bell in Nevada, cause I swear I remember that event too, or maybe I just had something similar happen when I once worked at a Taco Bell in Nevada. All I know is that pretty much almost every detail of that event sounds similar, but I mean it is possible that very similar events could happen at other locations, it is the fast food business.
I work in the fish department at a pet store and work with one of the sweetest people on the planet. I’ll call her Mandy. Mandy is a few years younger than me and was somewhat new at the time of this incident, which happened while I was on my lunch break so I didn’t even see it happen and I’m still ticked. Mandy had just caught a fish for this woman and then went back to check the price only to discover that the fish wasn’t for sale. I usually check the price before bagging the fish, but as I said she was fairly new at the time. The woman went ballistic, talking about how she had waited for the fish and therefore she should get it and basically just went off on this poor girl and she started to cry. This karen had apparently already been rude to the customers, pushing them out of the way to see the fish, and it was very crowded that day. One of my managers actually ended up calling the cops on her because she refused to leave without the fish. She left before they got there though. In a way, I’m glad I wasn’t there because I might’ve done something to get me arrested. As I said, Mandy is the sweetest and the minute I heard someone made her cry, I wanted to punch something. All the crazy stuff seems to go down when I’m on my lunch break.
I feel for Sarah. I got social anxiety because I was abused as a kid and ever since then, it always felt like everyone's gonna get mad at me for no reason that's why I get stressed out a lot thinking about not to mess up. And I feel like people who are rude/abusive to others have never faced trauma like that. Karens like her should know that in the time of extreme need, they'll be all alone. I am glad to know Sarah is doing much better in terms of her social anxiety.
Poor Sarah. I know how that might feel. Story time, feel free to skip it: So a KFC opened in my town about (holy heck) 6 months ago and I was part of the OG team. All of us were kind of beginners, and despite our managers telling the people multiple times not to stand in the line but order ahead and pick it up, they were there anyway, not listening. I was working there for about 3 weeks when we officially opened, training was in another joint in another city. None of us was used to that kind of crowd and I was scheduled to close service alone. That was already a stress factor, I was so afraid of cleaning the deep frier, because knowing I was clumsy as all Hell with a short memory I would mess up and burn myself. And to that pressure came the rush and the orders being 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour late. And I lost contact with reality for I don't even know how long. All I remembered was sobbing, trying to work fast as possible, the pressure sinking in more and more, and the next thing I know is that I'm sobbing, coughing, wheezing and holding onto the work bench for dear life. One of the managers led me away to the fitting room to help me calm down.
When I started working I had alot of social anxiety, so I was really nervous about starting a job where I meet people daily. I took it so personally when the customer screamed at me for messing something up, which made me more nervous so I started to mess it up even more. I just wanted to cry but I had to keep my head up. Not even joking, when I had a bad day where a customer screamed at me for doing something wrong I just wanted to end my life because I thought I couldn't handle life. Now that I've grown older I never take it personally anymore. I still make errors but if a customer gets mad at me I will just put a smile on my face and say "You're completely right, I will fix it for you :)" and laugh it off (and most of my errors are small ones, no reason to scream like I just killed one of ur family members lmao) Seriously, never be like this to a person - you NEVER know what they're going through. They may be suicidal for all you know, and we're always doing our best. We don't make mistakes just to annoy you. We're not perfect. :)
Thats a good way to cover up feelings. If you feel like crying, cut up some onions so you don't have explain your whole life in a nutshell because you feel like being judged, which you know you are so you begin explaining everything thats wrong with you and that becomes even more emotional. Emotional damage %1000
my first job was in a upper-end retail store, so many snobby people shopped there and i cried a lot. you don't realize how awful people can be until you work in retail or restaurants
I have really really bad social anxiety, depression and I’m really sensitive. I used to work at a subway when I was 16 for a part time job. A very similar thing happened to me too. I really don’t blame your co worker for crying. If it was a 12 year old me, I probably would’ve gone hysterical. Yes, I know some of you would think I’m cringe but this is my comment not yours. Thanks for taking the time out to read this and have a good day.
Okay she had no reason to say that it was simple, I don’t know what its like to work at a restaurant but I’m sure it’s not easy having to constantly server ungrateful and mean customers, people have no right to say that because instead they should try it for themselves and see how hard it actually is
Are you not allowed to turn away customers that behave badly? If I ever met someone being that rude to one of my coworkers I would kindly tell them to stop interfering with our work or leave. If they still wouldn't listen I'd call the guards
@@handsomesponge9952 I have gotten a job, but in Sweden and not in the US. Of course we also see it as important to be nice and helpful to the customer, even if they are a bit harsh. @@Ankan._. idk if being rude to an really rude customer on fast food places are actually allowed on u.s. in some of the jobs but it depends on the boss like if he allows you to kick an person out you do if he doesnt let you kick any person then you dont

working in retail opens an eye of how cruel and nasty people are. someone called me a perpetuous bitch for accidentally dropping a restock package in the back room on their foot. after that i felt so bad, held in tears before i got home.
You're nicer than me, I would have just kicked the woman outta the store for pullin that bs on a person with little experience and little people skills.
I'm a guy and I think it is so weird to hear how few times other people cry in their lifes. Maybe it is just me but I don't really care about telling people how emotional I am, I think that is stupid to live life based on what gender you are assigned. I am pretty emotional and I try to cry whenever I feel like it.
It’s amazing that you didn’t yell at the woman. I would’ve taken out my stick, slam it on the table, and yell at how embarrassing it is to insult a person just because she’s miserable in life.
So this is a true story what I am about to say to you, Milad. Yesterday I went to the KFC's and I was standing in the line waiting for my order, when this lady, who was standing behind me at the exact same time, suddenly started yelling at the worker standing right next to us. She was like "Where is our order? This is too much." Like, what is the worker supposed to do? I was feeling so bad for him, the way that lady was treating him. I wanted to stand up for him, but I kept quiet, because, y'know, karens should just be ignored if you don't want to get in double trouble. The lady got in before everyone else, and the worker had to apologise for something that is not even his fault. I tried to cheer him up a bit, he was very sad.
I feel so sad for guys that don't cry... I mean, either nothing has ever happened to them so make them cry or they have been taught that crying is something "men don't do", but when you cry oxytocin and endorphins are released which helps with both physical and emotional pain, so cry, guys! It's nothing to be ashamed about!
0:12 thats so lucky tho. U r blessed to have cried so little in ur life. My life honestly sux and i've got depressed alot before and even now i do. I've cried more times than i can count. The only things keeping me sane are these videos on utube.
When I worked at subway a few weeks ago I joined cause I liked the food, the people were always nice, etc. I have really bad social anxiety and I thought maybe it’d help me get out of my shell, which it did but then again I have no problem talking to people in a professional way, makes me feel like we share a mutual respect for each other and I’m not just looked down at for being a sixteen year old working their first job ever. So I had no problem with the customers they were always very kind to me and understood I was new. It was my manager that was the real problem, the first day she was supposed to teach me where things were and give me the lowdown on working the veggie area. Cause her we learn the stuff in the back first, then the vegges, meats, and then cash register. Instead she left early leaving me alone with my other coworkers, forcing them to teach me(keep in mind she scheduled my shift to cover someone who had stopped coming to work, then he ended up showing up the day I did so I was already a flustered and stressed mess) anyway my other coworkers were pissed at her for leaving me, and leaving them to teach me. In short terms I ended up running cashier my first day and was so stressed I wasn’t going to total up people right that I actually cried in the car with my mom on the way home. I have no hate for my ex-coworkers they did an awesome job trying to teach me and were very kind about everything.(-the fact I thought they expected me to know everything I was doing on the third day even tho I hadn’t even learned the meats yet) other than that I do miss them after quitting but it was definitely not worth the stress the job put me through, I haven’t stepped foot in said subway since. I’m just to ashamed to do so… feels like I did something wrong by quitting. I did make a little over $200 in three days tho 😄

I wasn't and continued to cry for 30 minutes in the corner until deciding to go home, but I'm so, so thankful for people like her.
Wasn't expecting a wholesome story in here x) . The fact that she stayed to check on you was sweet af , she is an awesome person for that 💕!

Those doughnuts look SOO good. Ty for the free cookie. That lady just sounds like a Karen. I feel so sorry for your coworker.
I feel her -- customers can be awful sometimes. As a fast food employee with anxiety myself I've definitely felt the struggle. I wish customers would see us as humans rather than slaves that aren't allowed to make a mistake :/
I wish I get a donut from this guy he has talent!
It’s really hard to have social anxiety especially when you work behind the counters of some business, I don’t blame her for crying tbh poor thing!
I love the amount of teamwork when they make the donuts
All you’re doing by continuing to talk to our employees is slow us down in our work which will only make things take longer.”
That was an awful night (I’m just thankful I don’t have that job anymore)
oh geez im sorry that happened. i went to a McDonald's and they were taking at least 15 min to give food. as i was waiting i was getting really annoyed. when the lady gave me my food i was about to say something. she told me they only had three people working. i felt so bad and told her it wasn't a big deal. i am pretty sure they got some rude entitled people still that refused to understand or straight up didn't because they never worked that kind or job or worked at all .

I worked for Taco Bell, and a similar thing happened to one of my coworkers who was also a young girl, and I did my best to keep quiet and stay out of the situation. However, my manager stood up for my coworker and told this woman who was being rude to my coworker, “get the F out of my restaurant! You gonna be rude like that to my workers over a simple mistake, you can get the F out of here!”
Needless to say, our boss was our hero that say.

I also have social anxiety because I unconditonally hate women below 18
Poor Sarah. I know how that might feel. Story time, feel free to skip it:
So a KFC opened in my town about (holy heck) 6 months ago and I was part of the OG team.

I still make errors but if a customer gets mad at me I will just put a smile on my face and say "You're completely right, I will fix it for you :)" and laugh it off (and most of my errors are small ones, no reason to scream like I just killed one of ur family members lmao)

Wow what a rude customer. Also nice looking donuts man
When I worked at subway a few weeks ago I joined cause I liked the food, the people were always nice, etc.
