- This is a highly inspirational video about the magical life of Dr. John W. Pilley, the owner/teacher of Chaser, the dog who knows 1000 words. Shot at his Celebration of Life, Sept 28th, 2018, there are heartwarming, profound stories told by former students, friends and family of Dr. Pilley highlighting his unique approach to teaching and life that were also used as the foundation for Chaser's ground breaking language learning. The end features an orchestral flash mob of Beethoven's Ode To Joy performed by Jay Bianchi, Nadia Khodakovska, David Heath, Lisa Sain Odom, Gary McGraw, Lee Hagland & the Spartanburg Symphony Orchestra.
Featuring speakers C. Edward Coffey, Chrys Harris, John Lane, Windy Gordon, David Perrin, Rudy Williams, Robin Pilley & Deb Pilley Bianchi. Video shot & produced by Erik Olsen on the campus of Wofford College.
I have only just found John Pilley, only to loose him almost on the same day. But I have not truely lost him, because he has created in me a thirst I did not know existed and will try to quench by spending as much time with my one year old Border Collie, Sheeba. She has been a major source of joy and I can only thank Pilley for showing me how I might help her to be the best, loving, joyful dog she can become. I will try to emulate Pilley - not only as a dog trainer but as a person. Thank you everybody for sharing so much love. Pilley lives on through you. God bless.

What a great man ! He inspired me to get Moxie a Border Collie and teach her to be like Chaser. RIP to both of them.

yes but she is getting up there in age
Chaser passes away July 23rd in their family home. Thus, according to Chaser's Facebook page.
