I am an American from Tennessee thinking about retiring in Cebu or Dumagette. I enjoy videos like this, they are very informative. I visited the Philippines when I was in the Navy. I think only US grocery items I might miss would be convenient foods like canned chili, and frozen dinners like Boston Market dinners, Tombstone pizzas, and of course Americas greatest culinary achievement, Hot Pockets!
Thank you for your comment. I’m glad you find the videos informative and helpful. You might miss some of your favorite American foods, but you can also try some of the delicious Filipino dishes like adobo, sinigang, lechon, and halo-halo. By the way, I have found Hot Pockets in one of my visits to S&R warehouse store and Landers, so you might be able to get them there too. 😊
Costco is my favorite store here in America. Looks like the prices are pretty similar except for the electronics which I expected. I just need to figure out how I would make a shopping trip without a car, maybe just do smaller trips and take an Uber.
Hi there! If you're planning to visit the store without a car, you can consider taking a motorcycle taxi, Grab service, or a regular taxi. These options should make your shopping trip more convenient. Enjoy your shopping experience! ☺️
My mother used to shop there. Most rare ingredients that you can't find in other grocery stores aside from Rustans you can find here like pine nuts, parmesan cheese for pesto & mascarpone for fillings.
Yes, you can request a day pass from the front desk at S&R, which is what I did. However, as you are not a member yet, you can only browse and cannot make a purchase until you obtain a membership.
Not exactly like Costco in America. Seems to be a lot of candy and snacks, not too much on frozen food. There are some meat selections, but looks limited. However thank you for the video. Since I will be moving to cebu, I am going to try and find a place I can find healthy foods.
I appreciate your feedback. While it may not be exactly like Costco in America, S&R does have a variety of products, including snacks, appliances and some meat selections. However, I understand your preference for healthy foods. In Cebu, you can explore local markets (Carbon Market) and supermarkets like Rustan's, Metro, and Robinsons for a wider selection of fresh and healthy food options. Best of luck with your move to Cebu!😉
Hi, the membership fee is ₱700 for Gold and ₱900 for Business. It is an annual fee that you have to renew every year. Yes, you can bring one person with you. I hope this helps! 😊

Thank you! 🤗
I love S&R. Gosh soda pop in cans is a bit expensive still. It's really great seeing reality. Thank you for your hard work making these videos.
I hope you continue to enjoy my virtual tours and find them helpful. Thanks again for your support! ☺️

That’s awesome. I agree that s&r has a lot of unique and high-quality products. I love their cheese selection too. 😋

It looks like not too many stocks in S&R compared to Costco.... Watching from NYC 🗽 🇺🇸
