Some features we barely use, however could be helpful in some situations! For example who use the towing button on the rearview mirror often? Once in a lifetime, but could save your life when your car roll down in to the ditch (Seen so many car accidents during the winter in Canada). This smart parking assistance is one of em! Smart parking could help you out during parking in or out from the tight parking spots, could even help some disabled passenger/s to get in. My two cents. Anyways, thank you much for the nice video! Keep it going!
Would be interesting to see it park in a space with vehicles either side and behind it as it reverses into the space. Would having objects to sense in the surrounding spaces help it park more centrally in the space? Yes, it's slower than most drivers would do that manoeuvre themselves but still quite impressive.
Kept getting a pop up on the console screen each time I wanted to display parking cameras to engage parking assist. I finally took the time to look up what parking assist is. I don't think I'll ever use this, maybe at functions when people are curious.
Thanks for the comment and for checking out the video. Correct, you may not use it regularly but good to know it's there if you're ever in a tight situation
very good looking car, but agree that lack of rear-wiper, and lack of wireless apple/android car play is unfortunate. I'm only 5'6 so the height issue is ok for me. Also, being in the U.S. the car is reasonably sized for our market here. What is the strange grinding sound when it was auto-parking?
Probably a bit of a gimmick, I don’t think I’d ever do that once I had tried it out or shown someone 😂 looks like a painful process with fairly bad parking 😂. Is that standard on GT Line? thanks for the demo.
Beautiful car, beautiful colour scheme though some of those reversing sounds were a touch ominous ; I think I would be checking the paintwork of the passenger door , just in case !
Hello I am korean. I like all cars. I am very interested in cars. Remote Smart Parking Assist is a useful feature when parking in tight spaces or automatically parking. But this is an option and you have to choose it, but the inconvenient is that it doesn't completely park in the parking lot. When parking automatically, space recognition is performed, so the parking line is not recognized, and the car may stand crookedly. And if the sensor is abnormal, it may not recognize the parking block and keep going backwards, causing an accident. Please use it with caution.
@@NevoEVReviewIreland yup, same in Denmark. Might a generic thing. However, here the GT model just dropped a massive 15% on the Price, so now it’s cheaper than what we paid for the Long range upgraded non-GT model :-/ but it’s ok, the LR model is also really, really Nice :)
Sweet mother of parallel parking! I presume that car could do that too? Yes, that's totally useful to some of us, ladies (no offence meant) Does that mean that the generation alfa won't have to take parking tests during their driving tests in the future? :) I so envy them!
Those parking spaces, are they from a neighborhood community or a public parking lot? Because they are a Shame !! Because of its short length, narrow, etc ... 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Wow! I can't believe it took car engineers this long to make an actual remote control for your car. Don't know how much people will actually use it, though. Very toy like remote control car. Lol.
It would just be quicker and more convenient to park the car oneself. Too slow. These tech gymicks are marketing novelties that real world customers won't use much in the real world. I had a VW 10 years ago that could do that with the driver inside. I used it only twice and both times just to demo it to somebody, in real life never bothered, it was quicker get on with it manually. Perhaps a feature that might appeal to the ladies (running for cover now). Nicely composed video though, interesting.
This parking tech has a way to go before its in any way relevant.... a learner driver could have parked it in less attemps and the car still wasn't in the space. The only thing useful about it is the ability to drive the car out of a space remotely if its too tight to get in the door.
@@NevoEVReviewIreland Something we are noticing also,. They installed the AWD frunks on all models in the States. So if you got a RWD the frunk is the same. And you get no charge cable with the non FE versions.
Well that's just cheeky. The larger frunk is useful when you actually have the charger cable....maybe they have the smaller frunk knowing it won't look small with a cable in it!

Thanks for the comment and glad you enjoyed it. You points are valid as features are great when you need them.
I wouldn't want to get into a tight parking spot because that's asking for door dings
I use parallel parking assist on my Nexo every time. Really useful feature.
Thanks for the comment. I wish I tried that function now 😔
Wow. It takes almost as long as it takes to park the car and then build the parking garage around it. 😄😄😄
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂😂🤣 very true
Some great features on that model!
I agree. I wonder if they are gimmicky?
Thank you, the sales person at the dealership kept mentioning this being a feature but did a garbage job of explaining it.
Glad I could help! It's proving a popular video
It really gives a sense of scale of the car that it barely fits in a modern parking slot.
My point exactly Neal. Cars are getting bigger and spaces smaller
cool party trick and also useful in some occasions.
Some being the word 🤣
@@NevoEVReviewIreland 😆😆
Brilliant idea, but does this wear out the fob battery quicker?
Probably if you're using it all the time. Thanks for the comment

I will try and do an updated recording when I get it again to review. Thanks for the comment Simon
Great feature. The car parked like a Ballina driver at SuperValu i.e. ditched
Ha ha ha 😂
I can confirm that, had to enter my car via passenger door in a Ballina SuperValu carpark once.

Would you have an ev6 or a q4 Etron Derek? Great reviews... Subscribed thanks
Thanks for the comment and question Ryan. Between the 2, I'd would select the EV6
Forward and reverse would be handy for those tight multi-story car park spaces. I've had to get out of the boot at least once.
And you're not a small lad Brian!

Thanks for the comment Rajeev. I think the sound is new brakes yet to be "bedded in"?
It’ll either be the regenerative brakes, which always make a sound in any car that has them, or the electronic parking brake coming on at the end.
I wonder will the new Sportage have this as an option and maybe even standard on some specs too?
I think most Kia's with a higher trim has it as I saw another video from the US using a combustion engine Kia in their example

I think so too! Ha ha thanks for the comment Richard
Omg imagine doing that at a shopping centre. My anxiety levels would be the roof.
Ha ha very true

I would like tto see it park while in it can you record that?
Thanks for the comment. When I get it again I'll do that for sure.
Thats interesting, would have parked and ordered the coffee in the same time though.
Ha ha ha potentially yes
is that feature on the standard EV6 or the higher spec model?
Thanks for the comment E P. In Ireland it's on the higher spec model.
Is this feature available on all EV6 models?
In Ireland on the GT line trim I believe
@@NevoEVReviewIreland yup, same in Denmark. Might a generic thing. However, here the GT model just dropped a massive 15% on the Price, so now it’s cheaper than what we paid for the Long range upgraded non-GT model :-/ but it’s ok, the LR model is also really, really Nice :)
Those are mighty tight parking spaces. And presumably/hopefully if there was a car in the adjacent space the car would have done better.
My thoughts exactly Azlan. If I get it again I'll try in a space like you suggest
What are the trims where this is available?
In Ireland we have 2 trims. Earth and GT Line.
@@NevoEVReviewIreland Is this feature available on both Earth and GT Line?.. Here we got Air, Earth, GT Line and GT Line SX Package
This is only on the GT Line here in Ireland
@@NevoEVReviewIreland ah shucks I was hoping to get the Earth trim 😭😭😭

Just the GT Line to my knowledge Frank

It's all becoming automated Paulina!
Great video, that is witchcraft.
It sure is. Slow but yes like witchcraft
That is fab tech, clever, but a bit slow for me. And your ate batteries in that fob along with finger cramp. Good demo, thanks Derek 👍
Thanks Nerf. A little gimmicky maybe 🤔
Which color is this?
Thanks for the question Glitschbörg. In Ireland/UK it's called Yacht Blue.
Thank's a lot :)
Parks better than my wife !!

Made for Dublin airport short term.
Squeeze as many spaces in as they can.
the speed of that, it would probably be long term car park :O
That auto parking is ridiculous, i'd never use that. My thumb probably couldn't take holding the button that long!

That RPAS feature doesn't look too impressive. The result was not very precise at all.
Thanks Jeremy. The self parking into that space wasn't great in fairness.
Parks like a Kia driver 😂
🤣🤣🤣
why is it so creeky?
Thanks for the comment Zsiga. I think because the brakes are still so new

Now now Noel. No gender profiling here. Yes, it takes a while for the system to park but it probably be too dangerous if it was faster
Love the car but i would never use that if u can park urself 10min faster
Thanks for the comment sabrefury. It's a bit gimmicky but may be handy at some stage
What a waste of time. Takes 3 times longer than doing it yourelf and leaves it taking up 4 spaces!
Have to agree Neil but some say they use it when it's a tight space and it works well. Not so much in this example
Not going lie I thought it was going to back up and hit the pole

🤣🤣 the wheels turning on the painted concrete
By the time it's parked itself, you'd have to pay for another hour in the car park.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
"not ideal", I guess, it admit that two lines as one gig single line
Thanks for the comment MrSnowman. It was one take so happy to not have it perform perfect
That's not very good. It's not centered, it backed up into the other space. That's a D-.
Agree. Thanks for the comment Jim
