Sick to see you out there! Born & raised Kaneohe side & fished there many times. People fish on the left side off the rocks but there’s a small sandy channel on the right side right outside the canal where O’ios run wide once in a while! Low tide if you can walk out fairly far you can cast it far enough to sit in that sandy patch. I just moved to Waimea on Big Island about a year ago & been checking out all the spots in your old vids down Puakō, Kiholo, & Kawaihae. Plenty action!
Oh bro that is a trip, changed places real quick. Waimea is a solid town. I got to sample the oio game in the coming months once I feel like I got the whipping back in action. I need to check at low tide to see what that area looks like, I was not sure if the whitewash by the channel was sand or rocks.
I haven't been to Kailua in 8 years since I left the Army....One thing I regret is not fishing more while I was there. Its awesome to see you on RUclips again fishing. I promised my son Kai he would return when he is 10 years old so I will be back in 2 years. God bless you man!
Mahalo nui loa! Glad you got the plan with your son, that will make for an epic trip for the both of you. Ke Akua Ho'omaika'i oe.
Congrats on your upcoming wedding! That's some great news.
I still remember as a high school kid being yelled at by some of the owners down in Kalapana walking on the sea wall and then telling us no fishing or even walking on their wall and wanting us to go into the water basically to get across.
If you are going to buy a house next to the water you would think it not surprising that people use the water and shoreline. Mahalo!
Awesome to see you fishing there. My sons goal been wanting to catch a Kaku and after he seen this video he’s excited to go. Great video 🤙🏽
Brah so glad your back. Always try to catch you at HFG but always miss you meeting you on the Ewa side. All blessings of continued success
I am in there at the most random times lmao. Mahalo, stoked to be back in action, I shall make use of the positivity!
20:28 - Mahalo for calling these types of property owners out. Another common tactic some beach front property owners utilize, to keep the public as far away from their properties as possible, is they allow their naupaka to get overgrown and extend way into the public access areas, so no one can sit near their property. I've seen some naupaka extend up to 25-ft into the public beach. Can't stand people like that.
I have seen that as well. Should start carrying around sheers with me lmao. Thanks for mentioning this, we all see it, need to make sure we can call out bs when we do.
Yeah You!! CLASSIC Shaka Fishing Braddahs On Da Shore episode once again! Stoked to see you fishing and posting videos again! SolidPapio, Y U no keep fo grind dat one? Congrats to you and Aura! Yessah Kapono! More Oahu Fishing Sesions plz & Mahalo! 🤙🏼🤙🏼 YEEE!
Mahalo nui loa! The wedding was amazing.
I used to troll a kastmaster off a kayak over there! Tons of omilus around there
Confirmation that I need to pick up some kastmasters already lol
Great to see you getting your line in the water again. You had some good action there. Congrats on the upcoming wedding too!
Mahalo Erik! How you been?
I grew up right down the road from here. Spent my days fishing all around this beach. So cool seeing you fish it, haven't been there in 10 years!
Actually used to catch choke barracuda right passed that boat on low tide. Theres a big drop off where the canal feeds into
Oh trippy dude haha. Sick how we all connect through spaces even if not at the same time. It was a fun spot!
It felt like there was deep water there, the lure never hit anything when reeling across that zone.
@@ShakaFishing yeah! By the boat I'd soak bait, it would get super deep. By the houses with the old storm drain, its super shallow all the way out to the point. One of the houses there is (or used to be) owned by an old doctor who'd hit golf balls off the lawn into the bay. He'd pay us to go get all his balls back lol! That same point used to not have a house and was a super popular spot with ulua guys. Also if you keep going down the street there, there is another public access. We'd use big cane poles off the lava rock. Would be a dope video!
Awesome 👍
What’s up man like the videos helped me out on a big island trip I took earlier this year I grew up in Kailua and been fishing this spot for over 20 years it’s my favorite spot
Oh hell yea! It is sick to be able to try out some new zones and get a feel for how people grew up fishing in a zone.
man what a good day, and then gotta have a low point with that sign, that why we call it Cry-lua over there. they do all kine stuff like that.
Bro I am integrating the crylua term into my vocabulary immediately lmao
Yessah sick catches
Should've jumped in an saved em for a few more cast lol miss watching the vidz
#SaveTheLures
Next shaka fishing meet up that dock ! all cram on there
Hoooo stack the crew on it lmao.
pretty fish!!!
They are beautiful.
Super shallow in the front the concrete jetty is a drain and the channel is the river next to pinkys aka old yumyum tree
This spot always get fun kind action plenty kaku papio awaawa Lai and all kind other action
I am thinking of trying by the restaurant side soon. Tried the alawai last week. No goat
Grubs and tiny flys are awesome there bubble float or egg lead work anything gold or motor oil colors work well
That shallow reef flat is good for tako. halalu and oama all come in over there too bro in fact they should be showing up there soon
If you fish alawai use hard lures like small yozuri cast master and pencil baits get action usually early morning super good small bubble and fly work too never tried grubs in there yet
fun short story time! sooo i was in brasil, beach fishing, every time i would reel in my line it would snap! did that like 5 times, then i eventually noticed my ring eye at the top was broke!!!! soo i switched poles, casted again....then reeled in and caught alllll my line i snapped and got my gear back lololol
Bra got hooked up on the money saver special! lol
grats!!!! remember its not 50/50 or 100/0 its 100/100!!! grats on gettin married!
Mahalo nui loa! Trying my best to keep the effort levels high.
i got a buddy in hawaii who makes fishing rods!!!!!! served with him in the army!
That is mean, which island is he on?
@@ShakaFishing honestly i dont remember, his last name is mark tho! should send him a message just to say hi lolol if i do ill ask! and tell yea!
Braddah try walk out to the left next time around the point and whip get action
I was going to sample but it was getting slammed that day
He’s bacccccckkkk
Arise!
Catch da Boat !!
Dangle the boat! lol
And that's castle point I caught choke ulua out of there my winning fish was from backside
Thanks for the name, now I know. Bra I am down, that ulua you got in your pic is epic, I could use some extra knowledge.
Brah go east country side u on oahu now? Hmu let's go
Should’ve been us bro
Signed 12X
It always will be.
Looks like smaller flies are more action maybe I'll make smaller flies for braddah man.great vid braddah kapono.
Oh sweet mahalo Braddah Rod!
Walk to the left
I made it part way then thought I should not test out the slippers any more on the rocks with the waves lol
left side get action
I was finding a bunch of old line over there, good sign that it has action.
@@ShakaFishing the waves on those rocks aren’t too bad with slippers…that’s how I fish it most of the time…unless I’m planning on fishing the outside ledge…but get plenty action…normally when I go I try to pick up as much of the fishing rubbish I find…but haven’t been going since the water been all brown lately
No lie lure fishing oahu kinda sucks
I'ma make it work!
@ShakaFishing brah been fishing town side for Kaku. Killer fish fun to fight better to eat. Jerkbaits work on them. So does golden spoons., they've also been eating ub my soft plastic baits but they usually cut the line so quick that you only feel a bite but your line jusgets cut
Congrats man! Japan! Wow! Any contact with Danny “D” lately?
Mahalo! Saw him last weekend, helped me clean out the garage, he is back on the Big Island.
