Arjun Warrier! he was great in this movie, such a menacing villian, and I loved his action sequences as well! I can't believe he passed away, so young. Very sad.
That actor who plays the role of Padakkam Basheer is Jagathy Sreekumar. He is a Legend with more than a 1000 films. He plays all types of characters including villains but mostly comedic. And for Malayalees he's the Comedy King of Cinema. For Me it's Charlie Chaplin, Mr Bean(Rowan Atkinson) and then Jagathy Sreekumar. He went through a major accident 12 years ago and since is away from Cinema. We really miss him.😢
Another comedic movie that i love watching of mohanlal is a movie called Hallo. Its not widely talked about and it was released in the same year as chota mumbai. Hallo might be one of the last mohanlal movies which was filled with comedy throughout. A pure comedy action thriller genre..
So many legends in one movie. 😭🔥🔥🔥 The fact that you think that all the supporting cast were amazing is because all of them are the Utmost thespians of Malayalam Cinema. Most of the older looking actors are Literal Legends of Malayalam Cinema.
Yeah you could tell even as outsiders that this movie was jam packed with talent. Everyone just bought into the vision and it paid off time and time again.
I have said this multiple times before that you haven’t seen a mohanlal comedy until you have seen chandralekha. That’s the pinnacle of comedy by mohanlal in any movie
Doug, so sorry to hear the passing of your dog. I'm sure it must be in heaven, looking at you for all the love you showered in the past years. Much love to you. Wish you get back strong❤❤❤❤ And thank you so much for the reaction to Chotta Mumbai🙏
Thank you so very much. It's an absolute wonder to have these kind words come pouring in. It's also an honor to have people enjoy the way we discuss these films. I'm thrilled to have you adding to our discussions and coming along for the ride with us. Getting better every day.
Enjoyed watching the review. Cochin Carnival is a grand festival like party in kochi. I've attended several time, its a fun experience. And it's actually not santa clause but Pappani that is being burned. I don't know why it was mentioned as Santa Clause in the movie. But the movie was a fun ride ❤ Always watches it with family when it shows up on TV.
Thanks for watching and thanks for letting me know about the festival, I was hoping this video would reach someone who has attended. It looks like a great time. Yeah the Santa really had me confused hahah.. I read online it was not meant to be Santa.
Everybody is voicing their praise about Kalabhavan Mani and Jagathi sreekumar, and rightly so, but so much of this movie’s likeability is also how good the father son dynamics and how the role was portrayed by Sai Kumar. He is a wonderful actor in malayalam,he has such a wide range. He is younger than both Mohanlal and Mammooty but here he plays the fathers role ( he also plays Mammooty ‘s stepfather role in Rajamanikyam) with ease. A terrific actor. If you watch ‘Traffic’, you can see a very different emotional range of Sai Kumar.
By everyone I assume you mean the comments section. We spent a whole segment after one of the scenes talking about the father, he was incredible. He's younger than Mohanlal! That's some good makeup.
@@D54pod yup , I meant the comment section and I noticed how Doug was pointing out the similarities in looks btw Mohanlal and Sai Kumar and also his eyes conveying so much in the scenes. The supporting actors in many such movies also are legendary. In this film alone you got so many. We always speak highly about the range of acting that our main stars have, but sometimes it goes unnoticed that the actors in the supporting roles are even more flexible sometimes.
Great to see you guys enjoyed and spot on review as usual Chotta Mumbai and Rajamanikam were so close in the poll ❤ you guys should try out Rajamanikam as well 🤞
I remember watching this movie in theatres. My Aunt had just gotten a new job and she took us for this movie to celebrate. I don't remember enjoying it that much primarily because I was a hyperactive kid and I couldn't just sit and watch anything 😂 Now this is one of my go to comfort movies along with CID Moosa,Parakkum Thalika , Kunjiramayanam etc..
🔥🔥 fire review! Sorry about your dog Doug.. whenever I'm sad I watch movies like this, it's so light and funny. I just like hanging out with the characters like you guys talked about!
Was a bit late to watch... but had a blast watching the review guys. Kept me smiling throughout and had laughs in between. Sorry about your dog Doug. Hope you are feeling better 🫂
It is amazing to watch you guys react to the movie scenes of the movies, so that we all are in together and experience what you're actually talking about.😁

Looks like you guys had a blast. Could see the excitement in your eyes. Amazing review guys 👏 Happy to see you guys doing light hearted films as well. By the way just reminding you guys that I'm still waiting for Pranayam review.😁
Thank you! Yeah we really enjoyed this one and loved reliving it here. As I mentioned, we're looking to cover all facets of Malayalam cinema, so this was great. Still keen on Pranayam.. just wanted to change the peace a little with an out and out comedy.
@@D54podno he was not, he was one of the mist hated villains of malayalam cinema, and in most of his roles he portrays antagonist roles, but here as ‘Paamb’ ( mocking nickname meaning snake for his drunkard character), he managed to displaced his image in the eyes of the malayalam audience to complete opposite. Legends of Malayalam all the cast in this movie
With how much it's being requested it'll hopefully be the next Mohanlal movie we review. Given how much we enjoy Mohanlal movies, it'll be soon at this point.
@@D54podu will only enjoy rajamanikyam if u know trivandrum slang otherwise the movie has nothing to offer for a non malayalee..it can strictly be enjoyed only by malayalam audience,so please watch chandralekha which is a universal movie
If u notice closely u could see mohanlal trying to hide his laughter when the girls father (drunkard) said how dare u wake a drunkard and make him sober😂
I went back to see if I could notice it and yeah I think your right hahah.. he even turns around, I think it's probably to avoid breaking character even more. Good pick up!
Though the movie was successful, personally i dont like this movie at all. The Story, script & comedy of the movie was not up to the mark. I still remember as i walked out of the theatre after watching, people were cursing Mohanlal for selecting such a bad script. There are many malayalam with weak script available but the industry is not known for such. Mohanlal is the best in terms of quality acting, but if you give his remuneration he do any movie no matter what's the script. Another suggestion i find in the comment section is mammotti's rajamanikyam. The movie was good but dont know how a non keralite can understand the Trivandrum slang which the whole movie relies on. As a non keralite you have nothing to enjoy in that too.
The villain is played by kalabhavan mani...he is one of the most loved person in all over kerala...RIP legend😢

His debut movie.
