0:51 I love how you feel so safe in Japan leaving your bike outside without locking it for so long. Here in Greece if you do that and leave for like 3 minutes you will find only the ringing bell of the bike (if you are lucky)...
I’m in the hospital, long term. The food is bland and tasteless. But watching how you enjoy your meals and you description of how everything tastes, gives me hope for a better tomorrow.
I truly enjoy your videos. You and I are close to the same age so I get to pretend sometimes that I am you having these amazing culinary experiences. It helps the illusion that a great friend from high school also works and lives there. Your videos help me imagine being closer to my friend. Thanks for all the wonderful content.
When I saw the thumbnail of this video, I was attracted by the Yorkmart logo. Because in my hometown, we have a market which has a very similar logo, and it is investigated by some Japanese company (from Shiga-ken?). That is really my favorite mall (It is a large mall, instead of a grocery store).
I may have to try something like this locally. I'm just not sure how much ready to eat food you can get from stores around here (small town Kentucky). All of the food looked good, and I'm sure the burger would have been better warmed up. I can only imagine how sour that candy was after eating that cream puff. Fun stuff!
I never thought my mouth would water at the sight of chicken skin, but you made it happen! I love how you choose foods I'd overlook and make me want to go get some of those items I pass up and try them.
The flatfish is HUGE. For $2.50 it’s a definite steal. Could be used as a cheap breakfast for budget conscious travelers. The yakisoba pan is filled with noodles to the brimmed. Believe it or not, I once tried a more terrifying variant in Shin-Osaka station called the yakisoba korokke pan. It’s combination of fried noodles and potato croquette smothered in tonkatsu sauce and mayo. Triple carb madness!!! And lastly, the teriyaki burger looked uninspired. The patty is visibly dry and thin and had seen better days. For convenience/supermarket sandwiches in Japan, just stick to the fried stuff (katsu, fried chicken) for savory versions and you can’t go wrong.
Only thing that I wasn’t too sure about was the fried noodle sandwich. Everything else looked absolutely delish! Great episode, Eric! Hope you and your fam are safe and healthy. Thank you! 😃😎
I couldn't tell for sure but is that a Blazers hat you have on? I'd have to say Cherries are in my top 3 favorite fruits as well. There's not many fruits I don't like. Thanks for sharing.🙂♥️💯
Love the grocery store shopping. When I visited Japan, nearly 20 years ago, my sis and her family and I stayed at her in-laws. We went shopping for groceries and bought out the store. Mostly fruit and veg but we bought so much, we couldn’t fit it all in the fridge and left so much behind. Obachan made lots of tsukemono. How’s the Dude’s Got It? Is he bunkered down in California? Stay safe Eric.❤️😷 ps love the exit with the tablecloth
Yum sweet potato, we have the same variety in New Zealand it’s called Kumara here. 3 different varieties of kumara but the purple ones are my favourite. Nice food 🤤😀👍
Favorite fruit for me is mangosteen, I have dreams about it as it is not available in the US unless frozen. When the world gets back to normal, I think its time for you and your boy to do another Baja surf trip excursion and Mexican food adventure.
I moved last year to a different city but I use to fo day trips into Canada where and a good portion of my time was spent going from one Asian supermarket to another buying all sorts of different foods and bring them back home from my family to try.
I don't think I would go for the Noodle Sandwich - heard they are not that good, but all the rest looks great! I love cherries and hope those seeds sprout!
Short story... Decades ago as a little kid my grandfather took me, and a couple of my cousins to a U-Pick cherry farm, we got about 3lbs. and while driving home us kids in gramps camper shell ate ALL 3lbs. none left. grandpa was none to pleased upon finding this out!
Eric Ive been watching your vids for over 2 years now and it is my dream that you come to Dublin some time to try the Guinness 🙌🏻🙌🏻 you're the king Eric keep killing it
Considering how fit you keep yourself and the amount of food you can consume, I often wonder if you only eat when making a RUclips vid...lol. Love your stuff.
If you watch closely, he doesn't always eat the whole thing. Plus, with all the exercising he does for running marathons, he burns it off, but I agree, sometimes I almost get a stomach ache watching him eat!
Watching this makes me hungry and thank god I'm currently living in Japan with my cousin and her family after a...drunk sweet home alabama incident involving me and my cousin.....at least I can eat Japanese food and snacks everyday Edit: she's currently five months pregnant
Congratulations to the three winners! We all are winners because we have subscribed to your RUclips channel. Right, Eric? Eric, I put my hand up when you were asking about the cherries. Didn't you hear me? Thank you for sharing your video with us. A wonderful weekend to your family and to you!
Its amazing how much your channel has grown over the years.... Even due to corona youre still doing interesting and entertaining videos. Thank you so much Eric. Greetings from Germany. :)
American cherries? I was wondering from watching all these food in Japan videos that Japan is covered with cherry trees, but I never see cherries in the food there. Am I missing something or do the cherry trees in Japan just produce pretty pink flower petals, but no fruit?
Great "tasty" food 👍 Interesting items 😂 1:06 sweet 💩 potato 😁 4:53 it taste like chicken. 😑 really? 😒 6:46 "smell it"😸 11:09 you should save the sweet for last😜
I would go to Japan just to meet you Eric and for the scenery and for the cream puffs custard thing LOL congratulations to the winners of the previous video. 💜
Definitely cherries!! They really are the best fruit, and I love eating just about any kind of fruit! That cream puff and noodle sandwich looked really good! What does Bulldog sauce taste like?
I know I'm late watching this, but hope you read this Eric. Did you know that you should eat the sour before the sweet? You ate the cream puff and then the sour candy...yikes!! Makes it twice as sour!! We love watching your videos...even though we almost always say "I don't believe he did that!" Can't wait to visit Japan. Was scheduled to make my first trip in March, but of course it was cancelled. Hopefully next year!
You should do video about Depachika. What’s Depachika? It's in tge department store basement.Chika means basement. It’s the other aspect of Japanese food culture.
I already knew the burger would be meh just for the fact it was cold. The fried fish and Yakisoba looked good. Sweet potato too. Lived in Camp Zama and Okinawa as a kid. Traveled a lot to Japan in my previous job. 2011-18, frequently went to Sagamihara, Tokyo, Osaka, Sendai, Chitose and Kumamoto. Your videos make me miss Japan.
why is japan so carb heavy? last time i visited, my poop was thin, stringy and hard to pass. Veggies were always pickled, salt was in everything and almost all meals consisted of wheat, rice, and red meats. I wish there were more fresh veggies and fruit options
I started watching your video without my 6 year old today. She was like mom is that our favorite guy Eric. I said yes she runs over and starts watching with me. We are hooked!
0:51 I love how you feel so safe in Japan leaving your bike outside without locking it for so long. Here in Greece if you do that and leave for like 3 minutes you will find only the ringing bell of the bike (if you are lucky)...
Because in Japan it's safe to do that even if you didn't locked up your bicycle to do an errands no one will steal it
Here in America drugs are so bad people steal even useless bikes just to take them apart

Super market series are seriously impressive. One of the greatest things you’ve done on this channel
Once again i watch a Meal time vid after eating and im instantly hungry again from seeing more amazing food. Awesome video
All those poor people that have to watch Eric eat with sound turned off because of all the moaning
Hah!
Its ridiculous
It would be so much fun to sit down and eat with Eric.
Although you'd better eat fast or he'll eat it all *LOL*
Matcha green tea is a must, it's so good for you
Love how everything looks so fine, clean and tidy in Japan and the food looks like Eric says, amazing! 🙂👍🏻🥪
I usually watch while I eat, it’s kinda lie sharing a meal with Eric.
I want a lunch spot like that. Looks so peaceful.
Sweet potato has to be the best food item ever. Tastes really good, versatile and really healthy.
AWESOME. I enjoy seeing the store walk through. Great video and food choices. Cheers!
Got it. More store walk throughs.
Great selection! Could have done a DIY fish or yakitori sando. Maybe next time. York market for the win!

Thank you Shan 😋 It's all about trying different stuff.
That custard filled bread looked amazing 🤤🤤🤤🤤
Nice to see ya planting some American cheery trees over there. 😉
When you said cold burger, brought me back to the horible school lunches I had here in New Jersey. LOL
ha ha...Too funny. I remember cold school pizza we had in California.

i have been watching our vids for 5 days now and inspired me to eat more japanese food and boy is it おいしい
Get Some! ✔💯🤩
I love how fast you eat. People say I don’t enjoy food when I eat fast I told them I enjoy more food because rushing is good.
wow, some really different food choices this time. Going deep into the world of the Japanese supermarket!
Yum sweet potato, we have the same variety in New Zealand it’s called Kumara here. 3 different varieties of kumara but the purple ones are my favourite. Nice food 🤤😀👍
Awesome video! I wish it was easier to get Japanese snacks in Amarillo Texas!
Favorite fruit for me is mangosteen, I have dreams about it as it is not available in the US unless frozen. When the world gets back to normal, I think its time for you and your boy to do another Baja surf trip excursion and Mexican food adventure.
What is the matcha green tea like compared to the "regular" green tea I guess?
All of your videos are so amazing I look forward to them every week !
I moved last year to a different city but I use to fo day trips into Canada where and a good portion of my time was spent going from one Asian supermarket to another buying all sorts of different foods and bring them back home from my family to try.
The fish looked amazing, but that burger, ugh. LOL. Fun to watch new items being consumed.
I don't think I would go for the Noodle Sandwich - heard they are not that good, but all the rest looks great! I love cherries and hope those seeds sprout!
I love watching meal time vid. I watch them all the time. Keep up the good work. 😢🔥👍
I love your honesty and big bites👍🏽
My kids loved fried spaghetti sandwiches as kids not sure now though. Nice variety of “grocery” store food!
Thanks Pat. I bet your kids still like the spaghetti sandwiches. Mine do.
Cherries, peaches, Asian apple pears, raspberries, bananas, grapes - all favorites!

OMG that cream puff is on my bucket list, I swear....🤤🤤🤤🤤
Watching you eat the sour plum left me craving dried mango.
The bamboo you cycled past was so lovely. The best days are when I get to lunch with you! Rather, watching you eat while I eat my lunch. Thanks!
No u can’t eat the skin on the sweet potatoes eat only the sweet potatoes
Thank you for spending the extra time showing everything off.
Cant wait for this Corona stuff to be over...

Cherries and strawberries and raspberries are amazing
I keep wondering why, given that there are so many Sakura in March, there aren't cherries EVERYWHERE come June...
Its amazing how much your channel has grown over the years.... Even due to corona youre still doing interesting and entertaining videos. Thank you so much Eric. Greetings from Germany. :)
I'm watching while I'm eating lunch. The food and Eric's vids have given me a need to travel to japan.

Because of Eric's videos, I recognized some Mochi at Costco in SC and bought the pack. Been enjoying the bean paste, and unique sweetness!

Pineapple, grapes, bananas in that order my top 3
5 years from now you can eat at the same place and be able to pick your own cherries.
Custard is my favorite. Don't get enough options here in Canada

So excited to see a premier. I'm usually working right now.
Those are the best cherries in the world I've had them nothing compares to it's natural sweetness
Japanese cherries are pretty good too...Smaller but sweeter.

is the green tea sweeten or straight up green tea?
Straight up green tea, nothing added. It's bitter at first, but you get used to it.
