I have AirPods Pro’s that I was using for work at home calls. The problem is the battery only lasted about 4-5 hours. I usually listen to pod casts and audible books while working so I started trying various headsets and landed on these. I am happy with the convenience of them and since I only use them working from home I really didn’t need anything extremely fancy just something to last me through the day and these work perfectly for what I use them for. Thank you for the review 😊

It’s a long journey, but it’s really kicking off - and people like yourself make all the difference. So, thank you again :)
I'm not a fan of AirPods and have stuck doggedly to wired headphones, largely because I have mine in and out all day long and would definitely lose one, or both of them. But, something like these look like a much more practical Bluetooth option! 😉👍
I ordered a pair of these earphones last night. 2 years ago my dad got me the Samsung Galaxy S10e which came with a pair of plug in earbuds. I thought the earbuds it came with were very decent. The sound quality was great, it had a remote on the earbuds so you could pause, change songs or turn the volume up/down and they didn't tangle. Unfortunately those earbuds stopped working 2 weeks ago. Right now I'm using a pair of earbuds I got from Dollar General until my Beats Flex comes in the mail.
I’ve had an older version of these for about four years and I can say that your review is spot on. The regular Apple ear pod hurt my ears so I bought these. I mainly listen to books and podcasts so these are fine for me. The on button is a nuisance as you said and I still have to think about right and left. The wire is very annoying to me but the earbuds are comfortable. So now I am going to buy the AirPods Pro with the hope that they will be just as comfortable. Love your reviews. 🙂
I have them , they are awesome for the price, the fact they magnet together is great since it’s going around your neck, why would you want them to swing all around and wave back and forth when you walk
I’ve had these for about 8 months and have been the most convenient earphones I’ve ever had. Durability far, far exceeds the beatsX, which would break every few months. I don’t baby these earbuds, I toss them in my backpack carelessly with gym stuff. I can’t recommend these enough, I forget they’re there when I let them hang because of their design. They’re also really hard to lose unlike truly wireless earphones. I often go two days without charging them.
yeah, that's not true at all. The Beats X are the most durable earbuds I've tried. Just because you toss headphones does not mean you've put them through hell. Try mowing 60 hours a week (sometimes in pouring rain); snagging them on trees, running them over with the mower tire, or caking grease on them. The Beats X are made with stronger plastic and rubber. These ignorant comments rile me up.
Thanks, Raul! And thanks for subscribing! They work really well for me while running and don't fall out of my ears (and I have weird ears - this is quite rare). The only thing I'd say is that the cable flapping around can get a little annoying - but it's not the end of the world, given the price.
I would consider the new Beats Flex if they had provided a version with a Lightning connector that supports higher wattage charging. That way, many iPhone users don't have to get a USB-A to USB Type C cable or have to get a USB-C charger.
That’s a really interesting counter argument for lightning. It’s often on my mind whenever I wax lyrical about USB C that many people _don’t_ have the necessary cables to begin with. Good point!
@@MarkEllisReviews After all, the Beats Flex is intended for iPhone users first with the W1 connection chip onboard. They should have been like the 4th generation PowerBeats and used a Lightning connection instead.
Thanks, great review. You mentioned they switch Apple devices easily but is it automatic when play is pressed on a device or would I need to go into the devices menu and select the flex option each time I switch?
Thanks so much! You still have to choose the Flex on each device, but they’ll appear on all of your devices linked to your Apple ID after you pair them to your iPhone. The latest versions of the operating systems (iOS 14, macOS Big Sur) feature automatic switching for AirPods, and I *think* that’ll work for the Beats, too...
@@MarkEllisReviews automatic switching unfortunately only works with devices with the H1 chip such as airpods pro and airpods 2. Quite disappointing i must say that they opted for the older chip.
They don't make a noise when you power them on which I find very frustrating, otherwise they do a good job. No better or worse sounding than the Marley Smile Jamaica Bluetooth headphones that these are replacing. I bought them mainly for the claimed 12hr battery life, and they seem good so far.
Yeah, you make a good point. It's little features like that which are important - shame the Flex doesn't have that startup sound. But that battery life is definitely the winner.

@Mark Ellis Reviews I need to add that I found an adverse effect when in close proximity w/someone wearing Apple Airpods. There are some conflicting signal issues that cause Beats Flex to cut out.
