  • The short answer is No! Not every variation will be a good fit for every lifter, but with these variations you should be able to find a squat variation that will allow you to train pain free.
    IF you ever experience pain, it's important to get assessed by a trusted professional as this is not intended to be used as rehab advice, rather for educational purposes only.

    Hi, there, for anybody with scherumans, I have it too and squatted 290kg. Don't let anything stop you.

      Thank you sharing! It's one thing to hear it from someone who's treated patients with this, but quite another to hear from someone who's found success in the weight room with Scheuermann's!

      Which squat variation did you find most helpful? Did you just go straight to back squat using the techniques/advice provided in the video?

      @ad8110 Год назад

      @@asharedo I’m sure you should probably start with body weight and slowly make your way up to even a barbell, and then go from there.

    Thank you for doing videos for Scheuermann's Kyphosis! It's very difficult to find weightlifting and workout advice for managing this condition so your content is VERY appreciated!

      Agreed! Have you found any other useful sources/people discussing weightlifting and Scheurmanns?

      @@zachgoesham nothing specific other than things like keeping a strong core so train your core in every direction. Train your back in general. Work on total body mobility to relieve tension on your posterior chain to help alleviate some of your pain in the back.

    Thanks for this video! I'm trying to get back into strength training after neglecting it completely and just doing yoga and running! This was really helpful as I'll be entering the gym again with a different awareness of what my spine can and can't do. So happy I found your channel!

    Thank you! I have been weight training for a few years but was always nervous to do squats due to Scheuermann’s kyphosis. Complete game-changer.

    This has been super useful for me as someone with Scheuermann's. Thanks!

    Thank you. Im disappointed every day about my spine. I didn't menage to fix it even tho i tried a lot. What do you think about just split squats + machines? My spine is always so compressed and i feel short after deadlift, squat or arnold press.

    You can also use that trap bar to your left. It's going to hit your legs even better than squats in my opinion

      I’d agree with that if you work out at a place that has one! Unfortunately they aren’t as common as they should be. However I was asked specifically about squats in the question I received so I wanted to make sure to cover those variations.

    Hey what do you think of doing over head presses with Scheuermans kyphosis?

    • @anshulvardhan271
      @anshulvardhan271 Год назад +3

      I know this is late but I overhead press with SK and don't have any issues (if anything my OHP is stronger relative to my bench). Lift with light loads and good form and work your way up from there. Make sure to balance your pressing work with pulling work (face pulls are a good choice here)
