If you think the sight of Japanese Soldiers jumping for cover at the sound of that bird’s call is funny, then you should look up “The Battle of Ramree Island” or as it is more better called… The Ramree Massacre when the Japanese Troops that retreated into the mangrove swamp were attacked by Saltwater Crocodiles.
There's a bird at my local Lowes that makes car alarm noises. Clearly we know which came first and it wasn't the chicken. I bet it heard those noises from humans long ago.
not trying to be a party pooper, but I highly doubt the authenticity of that story. Soldiers can tell what gun is being fired by the sound of the blast. In WWII there are stories of soldiers hearing the safeties on rifles in the dark being switched off, and knowing that it was the sound of an enemy rifles safety switch. They were very familiar with the sounds related to firearms, and I just don't believe that this bird would have fooled them one bit. I think it's more of a novelty story to locals.
I remind you that these are the types of people who have probably never touched a gun in their lifes. I would be more certain that this was a only a fun little story he overheard.
It's an old comment but If you are in the position where you are in a high dangerous place, you will be sensitive. The soldiers try to hide if they heard that kind of noise.
You're forgetting two things. The enemy could introduce a new gun (just like the planes the Americans improved against the Japanese). Second, heavy machine guns could be effective from hundreds of yards to over 1000 yards with the right equipment (tripod, telescopic sight), which could alter the sound.
Nay. Provide me the 'prophecies fulfilled' and the 'proven to be historically and archaeologically accurate and valid' that a god created this bird. Then call me foolish.
birds get Vietnam flashbacks.
Lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣

Comment underrated
I want to see a battle between Lyre bird's laser gun and brown Sicklebill's Machine gun
What about the Shoebill? That thing sounds like an HMG.
we have to use this bird in world war 3
WW3, where trees speak vietnamese, and brown sicklebills are attacking Donald Trump
That's apparently happening this year !
This bird is called a Sicklebill bird. I think it makes that sound by snapping its beak together.
Sounds like Contra when you get the lazer ammo
There is another bird named Ak-47
MG-40 bird?
When the grass starts speaking Vietnamese
Sounds like someone is trying to turn up the volume on their mac.
One outside my window n first time hearing it. Glad to find I didn't hear something that someone else hasn't as well
that bird just wanted to play airsoft
a wild machine gun bird appeared!
Not only ghost tells a story, birds too
This is quite a unique bird

that's the beauty of opinions. we don't always have to agree with them.
Nobody:
That one quiet bird in the flock:
Birds can make various noises.
Ooh! I love his lapel pin!!
Please don't get one near a Lyrebird
May sound like a machine gun for someone who has never heard one, but it doesn't sound like a real one at all. More like a toy laser gun.
Sounds more like old-school video game laser sound to me. :-)
flagged for misleading title. Birds did not carry any machine guns
George Lucas used the birds call for the blaster guns in the movies
and the robots for sure lol
Sounds like an MG131 from far away
never let this near a school
Death machine spinning up!

Imagine being in nam and hearing this
sounds like a suppressed mp5 from an 80's movie
maybe it's the birds who mimic the sound of machine guns from hearing them so often in the area
this bird protect the rainforest from woodworkers and the oil industry
i agree
That doesn't sound like a gun.. maybe a 1960s sci-fi movie Laser gun.

It sounds like a bird to me - and the speaker sounds like a goose.
Yep. A goose. Perfect.
Fastest bird in the Wild West...
Sounds like a machine gun shooting lasers.

Shoebills sound even more like machine guns.
Awww
if u saw a beautiful cake so there s must b some one who made it ... this bird is more beautiful than a cake
evolution, my friend, is the cause of this birds beauty. Slight adaptions passed down over thousands of years.
Nah it was always like that
*THE BIRD IS SHOOTING AT US*
die Geräusche für Star-wars filme kommen aus der Natur !
*shoebill gives veterans PSTD

Some soldiers patrolling in World War II also got tricked by this bird and it caused them to open fire on a friendly battalion

Dude, have you ever heard a machine gun or jackhammer?

So I guess that the bird started learning to mimic a new sound, right?
Michael YT nope lol. Its just their natural call, not mimicking any bird

Then call me foolish.

Papua, Indonsia..

Assault rifle bird
I am a bit skeptical in this one, perhaps if they had provided life footage, where you could see the birds beak moving.
Ben Berlin theres a video on youtube that shows the bird calling like that
That bird was made by his daddy and mommy.
наверно , очень интересно, но я не понимаю беглый английский, хотелось бы с титрами!!
