@@evocre8r So, not like chicken, because I don't know if anything can truly replace the taste. But it gives all of the savory, meaty goodness. Basically, the texture is similar and if seasoned the way you would normally season your chicken, it's as close as to the real thing as I've gotten gotten. I hope that helps.

I just had a spicy fried oyster mushroom sandwich for the first time today. The flavor was amazing but the texture had me very confused. Is it always tough and rubbery? I got it from a restaurant and was so disappointed. If I choose to make my own is there any preparation required for the mushrooms prior to cooking that will make them more tender?
Is there any reason why you choose to use spring water over any other type of water? What about alkaline water? (And how you forget to use the paprika?? 😕) #ProudFriend 😊
Heyyyy Kay!!! Most people use/drink purified and after visiting a waste water plant and seeing how they purify water I was so turned off. Alkaline is also cool!
If you are still interested and live in the U.S.....there are Asian markets everywhere or most everywhere and are reasonably priced. Hope that helps..... I realize you posted a year ago....but it's never too late to try this recipe.
I have warmed them up the next day and flavor payoff is still good, but they’re not as crunchy in the microwave. If you warm them up in the oven the crunch will still be there ❤️
I get my oyster mushrooms from WF & my GSO from Costcos as well!! Not sure if that's a Farberware pan if not it's already mad coincidences😂... Dope vid Queen!
