Unfortunately, "no common sense anymore" is the whole world now, not just trucking.
The factual statement of the day. COVID had made the world lost its mind.

Brokers have carriers by the balls and carriers don't have the balls to park their trucks for 3 months.
They spent their rainy day fund in the Chrome Shop!
Wouldn’t need to park the trucks for 3 months. More like 3 days.
3 years ago, if you were trucking you were balling. Today if you are trucking you are bawling.
Mega carriers would never park their trucks regardless. Megas set their own standard for this industry and the small owner ops are the ones getting screwed. This industry will never change until ALL megas go out of business
Exactly,as well as to stop accepting cheap a$$ freight.
So in other words brokers run this industry? Brokers with no trucks, no fuel costs, No million dollar insurance policies, no experience in a truck? What if there were no brokers?
Trucking would be much better
Well what they do have, unfortunately, is the most important aspect of the business and that is the customer

The FMCSA, as most federal regulatory institutions, actually work for the Corporations. The US is just not a free market. 😕 In fact, it's not even a free country anymore. 8:53

100% agree... Strike and shut the sh$t show down
It’s time drivers!! Strike!! One for all , all for one!!!!
Wow. This was a scary episode. Glad I'm out
If you know what you are doing and minimize your overhead you can make it in any market.
The main problem is that truckers gave to much power to the brokers and now are paying the consequences!!!
Now is to late !!
How is too late? Is someone stopping you from getting your own customers?
If you honestly believe what you just commented then you try and be a broker, Go out and get your own freight. Go get those contracts with the customers. Just like truck drivers brokers to have to make a living. Brokers provide you a service a service that if it wasn't provided 90% of all trucking carriers wouldn't exist.
@@FutureGPTranscoDriver see how many brokerage would suffer if there were broker transparency... it won't be fun for them anymore no??
@@sosanotsammy21 It's not about transparency. Why do you guys hold on this transparency nonsense. Brokers provide you a service and they are free to charge you what they think is appropriate for that service. If you don't like then don't book the load. Being a broker is hard just as hard as being a truck driver. As a broker you have to meet with shipping managers and sell a service. That means you have to be good at sales. If you think being a broker is easy and you think its easy to make money as a broker then why don't you be a broker? I'd be willing to bet that the problem isn't the broker it's probably your cost of operation. So instead of blaming the broker for "Stealing 80% of the customers money" or whatever why don't you fix your cost of operation. I promise if you can lower your cost of operation you'll net more profit. Pro tip use a calculator.
The loadboards should be for shippers and carriers period. Brokers own no assets they're just the middle man charging a high premium for their service, I don't even know why the FMCSA came out with the smart idea to provide authorities to freight brokers so they can become the middle man and manipulate the market and to set their own rules for example like carrier411 which is a stupid website where all the stupid brokers go to share trash information about carriers that they don't like and trucking companies cannot even defend themselves about their complaints defenetly they're in control of the market but not for long.
Everything is too expensive and people are about to break. Interest rates are too high. Food is too high. Insurance is too high. FJB 🖕

I've had my authority since 2014 and I got inspected 3 times the 1st year & i have never been inspected again in 9 years. I have a 95% bypass rate with prepass & i keep my truck pretty clean,so i never get pulled in. It does suck with some brokers turning me down because of no recent inspections. I tell them "Look I'm Black & I'm not about to confront any police officers about doing their job(We see what happened to Sonya Massey) so I just book with who will book me & since i speak the queens English without an accent i think that helps alot too.
Im doing great ...if the industry is so bad ,then it can only get better, so im in it, for the long haul....
Just don’t have a Preventable Fatality or get sick and need Surgery. Most drivers have no clue what happens to them if they die on the Road in another State Miles from their home. YIKES 😳. When you take life for granted, you usually die miserable and broke.
Good Evening, I've said this before many times on your channel, I started in 96' just for some perspective. I would never I mean never get into trucking now in any capacity, whether it be a company driver or owner operator, the sacrifice vs risk vs reward just isn't there anymore.
Until ALL DRIVERS are willing to stand up and take a stand once and for all, trucking will never change, we have allowed egregious regulations and corporate greed to ruin a great industry, however we do have the power to take it back; we all understand what that means (go home and stay home for awhile.)
Why not pick a time like the week prior to labor day and the week after Labor Day, in business the only way people are motivated to do anything is when something is taken from them, the takeaway has and will always be the best close in any business.
Stay safe.

Why are you like the only talk show that talks about freight economics? It's should be a national issue
@@jaybartgis5148 there’s enough attention on the issue. The more you talk about it the more dummies are gonna compulsively get in the industry it seems
I went 2 years no inspections even asked for them i was laughed at. I was refused good loads because of it only 3. It angered me but i figured out how to turn it around. On the last blitz i went into wyoming port of entry on Colorado/Wyoming border side even though i got by-passed and an inspector was outside I made eye contact and said I am ready. He said well ok. He went inside and did something then came back and we started it. I passed no issues was pretty happy to get those 2 stickers one for truck 1 for trailer. At some point he asked what I was doing because I was by-passed I said oh well it's blitz week I thought it was mandatory no matter what to get inspected. LOL. It worked out great for me. Funny thing is I havent moved the truck since that day. I dh home and parked since. My MC now shows passed inspection so now i just need the market to turn around maybe this time next year if trump is in it will be. For reference usually when i pull into this port on either side of Wyoming I usually only have to bring in my book and license or get the light to keep it moving. By parking and catching an inspector outside I feel like it increased my chances for one. It's possible this could have backfired on me or got me into some kind of trouble or upset the inspector IDK but he was nice and i finally got an inspection. May 16th 2024.
I went for nearly 3 years without inspections and prepass dropped me so I could not bypass the scales till I got an inspection! For about 2 months I asked Colorado, Arizona, Utah, Wyoming, and Etc till I spotted a DOT officer in Sioux Falls and explained my story and he done the inspection! Yeah what a great system we work in!
For three years I could not get a roadside DOT Inspection. We went into weigh stations and were told, drivers cannot ask for inspections. I called the Ohio DOT Troopers in my area, they said they were short on inspectors. I went into rest areas where the DOT motor carrier enforcement was setup many times. I talked to Troopers about how I was getting turned down from loads, and going broke. They don't care. I called the Ohio PUCO, they said they don't get involved with inspections. At the weigh stations, they laughed at me, saying "you can't make us". I can't believe their attitude now. They don't care. None of the Troopers, are actually authorized to do any Police business anyway, because none of them have registered their fictitious Uniform name label names with the Seccretary of State. Truckers need to get an Assumed Name Certificate asap, from Minnesota only for $50.00. This gives you legal and good standing.
Assumed name certificate? What is that?
This is exactly why I blow passed every scale on the specific lane I run. I know how to go around every single one of them. Why is that? Because these sharks will literally put you out of service in a brand new truck and trailer. It doesn’t matter to them if they put your business or lively hood at risk. It’s all numbers to them and they need to meet their quota.
We are our own worst enemy. Greed is destroying mankind
Face it this is not a free country.
All Truckers need stop for 3 months and they will beg for us
Never gonna happen, the $1 per mile haulers always gonna be out here doing charity work no matter what.
You have to work somewhere . It's bad everywhere . Adjust or get run over . Also Walmart has dropped Chef boyardee to $1.00 .

I just started a new trucking industry! I'm very confident it'll work. Every industry has it's ups downs. If it doesn't come back it might be the end of time
Congrats... You're about to reach 100k subs. That's impressive!
You can go to a weight station and tell them you need a inspection on your equipment to get loads. If it's a slow inspection station they will give you the inspection. If not just pull up behind a inspection trooper setting on the road and give them something to do.
I've had the same issues, most of those brokers have garbage loads anyway.
Thanks for the market reports.
Truckers are all talk , that’s the biggest issue …no balls … they just like to come on social media and cry

Candice is most likely a one truck operation.
Statiscly her chances of being inspected are much lower. A carrier with hundred trucks needs one inspection and gets validated.
You'll never change some of their minds, they believe someone that said they could get rich, so they think you're trying to keep them out.
All you can do is stay out of their way and let them fail on their own!!
It's easy to keep yourself looking good and avoid inspections, I went years at a time with no inspections!!
Wait until you're a one truck operation, your csa can be clobbered just because of small numbers
I fell victim to no inspections. Then I got 1 speeding ticket and an inspection. Next a broker turned me down due to the ticket, but the next used me because I had an inspection. Can't win at this. Now JB won't use me and won't say y. I was thinking I must need more inspections. I worked with them in the past and my mc is 25 years old.
I havent had any Inspections ive been in business for 4 years and in 24 years of trucking ive only had 3 total inspections

Are there not niche areas that may be profitable.?Such as oil field work and hazmat transportation such as what Groendyke does.
There are but when you have so many trucks sitting those people are also looking into the “niche” stuff then start saturating that market. As someone that has always worked in “niche” stuff (125k #’s+, custom livestock haul, custom ag…) I’ve been fighting these trucks jumping in. Problem is quite a few after causing rate drops due to capacity/volume changes they cause other issues such as failing to be able to perform properly causing rate drops due to avg performance drops and increase in insurance requirements because they are screwing things up. Dealing with that as I head into this At season…last years rates got dropped by 25% because more trucks are trying to get involved and because so many $h!t drivers were damaging product the receivers now are aggressively inspecting all and causing what used to be 2 hour dock times to now we are at 5-7…as 100% of my time is ag exempt during this season we try and run as hard as we can to make as much as we can in a short time frame. 2 hrs to load 3.5-4 hours drive up 2 hrs unload 3.5-4 back and re-roll was the norm, now we’re making less than half what we should for the work. Me and the rest of my guys are just waiting for the majority of the people that have no business in this industry to finally go bankrupt, give up, and get the fck out so those of us that have our $h!t together and everything paid off can get back to making proper money. Don’t mean to sound like such a harsh JA, but I’m beyond tired of the at least 30% of people in this industry that have absolutely no business in it. That includes company driver, leasers, o/o, dispatch agents, brokers, broker/carriers, carriers small/big/mega. To everyone that got in for the right reasons and are really striving to be in this industry with quality work ethic, morals and integrity I really do wish you the best and hope you weather this well as most of us that have been here for decades have overcome our adversities with this industry…to everyone else gfd and I hope you find something else that gives you proper purpose…now that my diaper rash has thoroughly flared I’ll go take care of that….

So basically brokers want you to be a perfect carrier to be able to book loads smh
It’s called Cherry Picking and Lemon Dropping, brokers want people that can make them the most MONEY 💰. They’re not interested in people that can’t move enough freight to make them Profitable. Most truck Carriers are in a bind and on the verge of Crashing and Burning 🔥 or Bankruptcy; all because they can’t afford High Dollar Professional Drivers anymore, Actually that goes for any job. If you think Migrants aren’t a valuable commodity, think again.
Another factor making loads harder to run than it should be. When management takes too much time away from the order. Through the deadhead or "it's preloaded." Then you increase the coercion statements. The coercion factor is why cameras was removed from training vehicles.
Right now its not the time to get into truckin, its always been hard but now its suicidal. BUT IF people want to come get into truckin let them find out for themselfs. Unionizing seems like the best idea

2. Cost of Fuel
3. Truck maintenance due to green laws.
4. ELD
5. Over population of trucks in the industry.

this is antitrust violations anything that restrains trade is illegal. so gaining market control, and then lack of job creation, lack of allowing competition. misrepresenting market conditions or whatever, etc. all of it can easily tip over into being legit antitrust law violations anything restraining trade is illegal. this is more so true in markets that have total market control like ups. whom of which regularly has nearly no job opennings NATIONWIDE. and companies like abf also.

💯💯. 14 yrs in the business- JB Hunt who I’ve hauled many loads for just reached out and told me I’m not qualified to haul there stuff-
This is very true, I've been in business for almost 2 years and haven't had a DOT inspection, and it has caused me to miss out on several loads. But it's a sweet and salty situation. Because if I choose to stop by a weight station and ask for an inspection and not knowing the outcome. But I feel that I'm good, but who's to say that the DOT officer will find something that I have not noticed myself and he writes me a ticket or shut me down. So, I reckon I'll just have to wait until I get pulled over by one and get my random results. 🙏
I've gone for several years without an inspection. I have Prepass and I almost never go through a scale.
I've stopped at the Port of Entry in Wyoming and asked for an inspection and they told me no, twice.
If anything this current era in Transportation should show everyone that the "experts" that use to say there was a driver shortage are full of crap. The competition is tough out there especially with many companies running freight at low rates hurting everyone else.
They should not be allowed to have that kind of power. That is a mega carrier gate keeping tactic.
Lets talk about where's all the freight but not really talk about.😂
It’s tough in the spot market realm. Unfortunately, that’s the only information on the internet when it comes to trucking.
Do not use list: The list of carriers too proud to eat garbage.
This is how monopolies are formed.

Retired after 24 years in the trucking industry and I don't regret it one bit. Get rid of brokers and mega carriers and maybe the in industry might rebound. The economy is not doing well, in fact, the stock market was way down today with investores trying to sell a lot of their stocks.
Trump 24 !
Why don’t you encourage the truckers to unite and strike. I’ll bet one week of truckers not moving product would definitely cause some friction and two weeks would probably get truckers leverage in some beneficial way.
It seems that in order to make it as a new carrier or returning carrier is to go right for direct freight. With that, you will probably need a couple of trucks and trailers. Enough trailers to drop at your customers. If you must use a load board, only for your back hauls. With these new broker requirements I would not attempt to be a new 1 truck buck.
I would highly recommend getting into trucking. You have got to have a plan. I recommend knowing who you’re going to work for that’s going to give you the life and the money you want to be happy. When I got my CDL my 2.5 year plan was to end up at Walmart. 6 figures and weekends off. Sounds like a plan!
There’s an old saying that says no plan survives the battle. I’m so happy where I am at that I’m not going to Walmart. I’m all set!
Right now in this trucking downturn being a company driver is a better option. That is if they don't go under like over 30,000 companies have last couple years.
17 Drivers, furlowed on salary ($70,000.00) 58 tractors and 38 trailers sitting idol. Eventually they will leave.

If a broker is having a bad day you are at risk of getting a freightguard report written on you for not taking a bs load. I speak from experience, this actually happened to me. If you try to reach out and fix it, they may cime up with even more bs reasons to write freightguard reports. The bromers are running the indistry right now amd they do what they want, from canceling loads just because some depserate carrier is wiling to do it for less to not paying detention.
I think most inspectors target trucks for inspection when they think something is wrong with the truck or driver, so they can be more productive.
When Ive worked for good carrier's the D.O.T. didn't want to waste the time, Driving for junk companies Ive had officers do a Uturn to make a stop&inspect.

Ok so what im getting is, dont go get your own authority, but its ok to lease onto someones authority?
I’ve been in business just under two years and I dislike brokers as much as the next man. They are shitty at times and some people don’t respect their place in this industry. But they control the freight they have the relationship with the shippers.
The truth is the middleman always makes the most money in many business transactions the person in the middle with the least amount of overhead and expenses . That’s free game!!

Well not sure if you remember but i did a big mistake and leased to landstar. I reinstated my authority after 9 months and lost all my good inspections and brokers are treating me as new.
