Wins and Losses weigh much more than actual placements. They are kinda related because generally a good placement means good wins, but an example being Lvl.1’s 4th place only gave him like 2 really good wins. In a sense it’s fair because it means people that have a high level DQ in their path won’t have a random boost in rankings because of it, and you can also underperform but still have really good losses so that won’t affect you as much
Wins and Losses matter significantly more than placements. His run to 4th was pretty unremarkable compared to some others only getting a Zackray win. He had multiple unranked losses this season, probably more than most other players in the top 50 too.
unranked losses will kill your rating. it’s one of the reasons why locals don’t count towards rank, so top players can go and not worry about random losses

Delfino Maza got cancelled so they changed the attendance requirements. It let AlanDiss and Waka qualify since they were both going to attend before it was cancelled
Due to Delfino Maza getting delayed they changed the attendance requirements to 1. have B+ events count for major attendance and 2. have one invitational count towards attendance. This helped players like sonix, shinymark, marss (inadvertently), waka and alandiss stay ranked. It'll go back to the original rules this season.

Of course the region that is so densely populated and can host more events gets more players in the top 150, and only a ranking biased against Japan would change that.
That's not true, but if it were, it would actually be good news for you. The more Japanese players are ranked in the 50-40 range, the less of them there will be in the rest of the top 50.
i would be pissed if i had gone to 14 events on a 5 months season with almost no bad loses a win over probably the best player on earth and some from many different countries but they didnt rank me because the only major in my country got cancelled last minute
