  • Hershey Bears goaltender David Leggio impersonates hockey commentator Pierre McGuire with teammate Tyson Strachan on March 18, 2014. Leggio was taping promotional videos for Strachan's Strays, an organization which raises both money and awareness for stray dogs.
    My favorite part? The part starting around 1:25.

    Got the inanity, but missed the cloying creepyness with just a hint of craigslist cruising. Can't blame him for that. That's unique to Pierre.

    Absolute nailed it. 9.5/10. He gets -0.5 for excluding a "roof daddy", "hockey sense", or "time and space" comment. No Pierre McGuire mockery is complete without one of those statements.

    I love it when Pierre says something or asks a question and Doc and Eddy completely ignore him or give him a one word half assed answer.

    Forgot the *"THAT'S... TOO... MANY... MEN..."* or the *"[Enter Coach's name] isn't happy about that Doc, he's not happy about it at all"*. To be honest, Pierre is a complete tool but i enjoy his presence on NBC as comic relief -- fun to laugh at.

      Good to see somebody else has the same view about him that I do. Sure he's weird, has a goofy delivery, enjoys announcers with a long stick from time to time, but there's something about him where he doesn't seem offensive. Plus his knowledge (although a little excessive....ok, a lot excessive at times) is kinda impressive. I forget which player once said it, but his quote was something along the lines of "Pierre knows stuff about me that I didn't even know."
      (Did I just praise Pierre? How did that happen?)

    • @bobshenix

      John Doe Lol i know exactly what you mean. He does know his hockey (used to coach the Whalers once upon a time), that's only part of the reason i'd be somewhat sad if he lost his job with NBCSN. The other part is ironically the same reason my friends and i are always laughing at him... he's got funny mannerisms and he really is such a tool, for lack of a better word.
      Obviously i'm not trying to hate on him, but he's such a dork that his dorky-ness is actually endearing IMO. I feel like anyone else who did the same job as him would just be boring, since there is so much entertainment value in poking fun at Pierre-isms.
      All of that said, he does seem like a nice guy at the end of the day. He means well. I don't want to see him go anywhere... he provides to many laughs without even trying!!

    LOL...Great impression! Couldn't agree more that Pierre is absolutely HORRIBLE. Ruins the experience, to say the very least. I'd pay a subscription fee just to PREVENT him from being a part of the broadcast. Sorry PM, but you have no business being a part of the on-air staff. Please, for the love of hockey, find something else OFF AIR to do. NBCSN -- even if he offers to do it for FREE, don't let him. Your fans beg you to reconsider using this guy. Horrible. Just horrible.

      I'd rather they bring back Darren Pang, or Barry Melrose, or even JR (Roenick) to be the between the glass guy. Maybe if his delivery or tone were different. It's just like nails on a chalkboard to me.

    • @packers256
      @packers256 10 лет назад

      Adam Boelkins No, seriously. He brings a different side to the game than most announcers. He's unique and even though he's a little weird I think he's fun to listen to and his actual hockey knowledge is underrated.

    • @michaelbabcock5861
      @michaelbabcock5861 10 лет назад

      packers256 I know he had a failed coaching stint. I just have a hard time listening to guys who have no real (good) credibility. Barry Melrose has that. Players like Keith Jones and Jeremy Roenick and even Milbury (whom I don't really like) have that. I just don't get that from PM *at all*. And his tone/voice inflection...don't help.
