Awesome Jim! Holmes will be my palette cleanser in February! I enjoyed A Study in Scarlet last year and it was a breath of fresh air in between all the dark, messed up horror I read during the month. 😂 Seriously though, looking forward to reading The Sign of The Four in February. I know this is a late response but am only thinking now of Readathons I want to prioritize. Have a great year! 📚
Hi Cliff, That's great! The Sherlock Holmes stories are really my go-to comfort reads. I hope you enjoy the stories. I hope you have a great year as well. So far, so good. 🤞 Talk to you soon.
Happy belated birthday *and* Happy New Year, Jim! 🥳 I purchased the Big Book of Sherlock Holmes a couple months ago and I'm excited to dive in! 🔎 Also just downloaded _Arthur and Sherlock_ and _The Whitechapel Horrors_ to my Kindle, so thanks for that! 📚 Of course, I'll be wearing my shirt all month...unless you'd like to borrow it! 😂
Thanks, Lu! I think you'll be happy with those books. You'll have to let me know what you think of them. Thanks again for buying the shirt. I hope you enjoy it! I'm crossing my fingers that mine comes soon.🤞Take care for now and all the best in the New year. ☺️
Happy new year. I'm looking forward to this event. I read Sign of the Four and a couple short stories last year. This year I'm going to try and read all the short stories up to The Final Problem. I also just finished What Child is This: A Holmes Christmas Adventure by MacBird, which I enjoyed. So if I have time I might read another of her novels. Or the second of the Lovegrove Casebook novels. Great event, thanks for hosting!
@MysteryandMayhem-gr7nn What Child is This is pretty good. It can get a little political, but it fits the themes pretty well and it doesn't override the novel. Ill have to try some of her other Holmes pastiches.
Hey Grammaticus! I hope you do join us in February! And yes, I believe most of the canon is available for free on Gutenberg and elsewhere. If you haven't read Sherlock Holmes before, the original stories are where you want to start. Thanks! ☺️
Happy belated birthday Jim 🎉 I’m looking forward to Holmes is Where the Heart Is, as you probably already know. Have some ideas already for the first three prompts and know I have plenty to choose from for prompt four so will have to pull together a pile of possibilities!
Hi Jim! I'm looking forward to this event. I'll be reading Holmes, listening to Holmes and even watching Holmes. Great event even though I don't always confine myself to just February. 😊😊😊 Happy New Year right back at ya my friend!
Hey Jim, Happy New Year to you and your family! I hope you find much joy in 2025. I’m looking forward to your event and will read some Holmes, absolutely. I have ordered your shirt as well! Love the design!
This sounds like so much fun, Jim. I was just getting started on BookTube last year when this event was already in full swing, so I basically missed it. But I'd love to jump in this year! Terrific announcement video.
@@MysteryandMayhem-gr7nn You are very kind. I just have a lot of time on my hands since I've retired from teaching. I wanted to tell you that I picked up a collection yesterday at my library's used book sale: The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, which is, I think, a facsimile collection of the original stories that appeared in The Strand Magazine. I'm sure you have this already. I picked it up for a dollar in excellent condition.
My favorite non-fiction book about Sherlock Holmes is "Sherlock Holmes of Baker Street: A Life of the World's First Consulting Detective" William Baring Gould. Do you know this book ? I like it so much. Roland, a french follower.
I've noticed that there are a lot of documentaries on Sherlock Holmes/Doyle on RUclips. Perhaps something like that could be added to the last week. Btw, I want to thank you for signing up to be a subscriber to my as yet non-existent channel! I'm working on it; what is holding me back is all of the technical issues involved. I'm not familiar with graphic design and the mechnicls of producing the effects you want:)
Thanks very much, Katjack! That's not a bad idea. I hope that you're able to get the channel going. The easiest part is shooting the video, and sometimes the best channels are those who just video themselves talking, then press upload without worrying about a thumbnail or making it look pretty. I look forward to seeing whatever you come up with. Take care and good luck!

Love Holmes is Where The Heart Is and I love the new prompt. Happy New Year Jim 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks, Debs. That's very kind. Happy New Year. ☺️
I really need to read more Holmes. Thanks for the video, Jim. Happy reading.
You're very welcome! Happy reading, and thanks for commenting.
I've been really enjoying my journey through the Sherlock Holmes series, so I'm happy to join y'all!
Hi Mitzi, That's great! We're happy to have you join us. Thanks!

Such a great event, I'll definitely try and dip in
I hope so, Roy! It would be great to have you join in. Thanks!

No problem, Allen. It was a great one last February. Gonna be even better this year!
BookChat with Pat sold me, plus i have been doing Sherlock Holmes tales and reviews on my channel. So yeah, i am in! Sounds fun!
Thanks, Kevin! I'm glad to have you on board. It's going to be fun.

Hey Daniel, you're very welcome! It's gonna be great! I have to get that MacBird Christmas book sometime soon. Thanks!

Very excited for this Jim :)
Hi Mark, It's going to be great! 😃 I forgot to mention our group read in the video. I'll bring it up in the next one. Talk to you soon.
One of my 2025 goals is reading all of the Holmes canon so this is perfect timing.
That's awesome! You're in for a real treat. Take care and happy reading.
Oh, boy! I'm in!
Hey Scotty, That's awesome! I'm glad you'll be joining us. 🥳
This sounds like a great reading event Jim. I’ll try and read some Holmes …which means I’ll have to pick one up! Or maybe Gutenberg?

@@MysteryandMayhem-gr7nn Oh absolutely. Starting with the originals!
I have read all of original Holmes at least 3 x over. And many of the pastiches. Elementary :)
Nice! They are a comfort read for me, and I go back to them often. There are some great pastiche stories out there. Thanks!
Great to see you again! Brilliant event!
Hi Mike. Thanks very much! Good to see you here!
The Hound of the Baskervilles is on my priority list for 2025 so yay!
Good book. Enjoy!
Happy belated birthday Jim 🎉

Happy New Year right back at ya my friend!
I'm the same, Steven! Holmes isn't just for February. 😄 I'm glad you'll be joining in.
Looking forward to this year's: "Holmes is Where the Heart Is" event. Time sure flies by...it doesn't seem *that* long ago since last year's event. 😏
Isn't that the truth, Andrew! Thanks! 😊
Hey Jim, Happy New Year to you and your family! I hope you find much joy in 2025. I’m looking forward to your event and will read some Holmes, absolutely. I have ordered your shirt as well! Love the design!

That's a good one to start with, Pat. That's the first short story collection. It's got some great stories on it. I hope you enjoy it.
@ terrific! Thanks, Jim.
