What sort of speed do you achieve while doing that? IT looks like your in the 55-80 range alot through the woods but the straights and where you could get into like 5th/6th gear you were in 130+? Any possibility we can get some info?
Some people tend to forget that being in the WRC means you are the best in the rally world. Even if you lose the season in the WRC you are still amongst the best drivers around the world!
What does that do at 0:21 where I think he is pressing on the gas and at the same time holding the e-brake? Is he making the tires spin so when he lets go of e-brake he gets moving right away?
The codriver's job is hard, that's for sure, but the driver's job is an order of magnitude harder and stressing than that of the codriver. It's like if you were driving at your town thru a very bumpy tarmac road with a passenger while him tells you where to turn by reading a map. It may be hard for him to read that thing with so many bumps, but you're doing everything else: handling your car, watching for objects that can break your car, watching for people, animals and cars from every direction, watching for semaphores and signals, looking at your mirrors, etc. Of course, it hasn't to be said, road driving ain't nothing hard compared to rally driving - take this as a better example of how they both work very hard, ruclips.net/video/kU-P-YUQ_PA/видео.html, specially from 2:45, and specially the driver's work.
Have you never heard of Kimi Raikkonen? Robert Kubica? They have done both. Kubica had an injury that stopped him driving F1 so he had to settle for rally. Do some research before posting stupid comments.
Needed more angles, like Ken Block in Russia there was about 100 GoPro's used in that, just saying this was too static for my liking and felt like it need one on the front or something but still Ken Block is a boss!
Wikipedia search: Bronze in first ever X Games rally event at X Games XII, silver in Games XIII, first place 2008 Rally New York USA, first race of 2013 season, Mexican rally, he gets his first six points for the championship and score a best-ever 7th overall finish... yeah, he's a bad ass rally driver!
True. I am sitting at my computer and dream of having that career/life. But, i can assure you i am not a bad rally driver and i was pointing out that ken block does not have the skill to compete and do well in the WRC. I cant get too upset because the WRC was dying out for a few years and the main reason he is in the WRC is to bring more fans to the sport which he is doing. I only hope that people (like yourself) realize that the true talent is in drivers such as Ogier, Hirvonen, Ostberg etc.
Kimi Raikkonen did but still they are completely different types of racing. Loeb for example was very slow in a Formula 1 car and an average driver in FIA GT.
I had the chance to drive one of his fiesta rally cars through a short course. Max speed was 130. Well MY max speed hahaha which isn’t fast for that short course. The way these cars handle omfg man!! I have a lot of experience racing in general and these cars grip so well even on gravel and dirt it’s amazing! Like a part of you
he would have been awesome back in the Rum running days during prohibition. I take that back, he would be untouchable by any one or any thing in the rum running days during Prohibition.
No because there are drivers that are much better than him. If you see the wrc, you will see that he is always crashing and even gets beaten by the lower spec cars sometimes. The real professionals beat him by minutes
Why do you never use an external mic on your video's? It helps A LOT.
I love these unedited videos!! Makes you feel almost like you were there.
That is a crazy technical course, damn
love these ken block vids
One of the best American rally drivers, and hopefully he is inspiring a generation of young people to continue rally in North America.
Watching this brought me back to the days when I used to watch WRC on Speed Channel. :(
Thats how I use to drive my dads car in highschool... Oh those days..
hahaha
Lmaooo
Absolutely Insane
Good. You're back to what you best ! Playing around and let Loeb do the real driving !
What sort of speed do you achieve while doing that? IT looks like your in the 55-80 range alot through the woods but the straights and where you could get into like 5th/6th gear you were in 130+? Any possibility we can get some info?
Good Job As Always Ken!
he is my heroes, the driver rally legen most iconic ever, . rip kenblock43💙
love that camera angle
Get on Blocky my boy! great stuff, loved the 6th gear run at the end :)
Flying through those last sets of gates..incredible
Potosi, MO! What the heck is he doing in Potosi? I don't live far from there and have been though there many times. The terrain did look familiar.
Some people tend to forget that being in the WRC means you are the best in the rally world. Even if you lose the season in the WRC you are still amongst the best drivers around the world!
He's such a good driver. Interested to see a comparison of rally stage times between him and Kimi Raikonnen
ordered my GoPro black edition today !! can't wait to start shooting
Words cannot describe how awesome this is.
What does that do at 0:21 where I think he is pressing on the gas and at the same time holding the e-brake? Is he making the tires spin so when he lets go of e-brake he gets moving right away?
Question: How many times did Ken pratice to without crash?
Are you bloody kidding me! I would have total that Ford by the second turn at that speed. Ken, pure awesomeness. Thanks for being a Hero
awesome footage keep all the audio like this!
Getting through those gates.... unbelievable!
Doesn't it have a ford focus engine? iirc i remember hearing that in the build video.
WHERE IS THIS VIDEO? ---> Ken Block + X Games Foz do Iguaçu + Gopro
That wave he does at the end is golden
actually the motor is the same block used for the 2.0 ecoboost in the taurus and explorer
Nice driving, but hats off to the chap on the right that was able to read the notes.

where are the other 250 cameras?
I can never read those rev meters with these type of race cars, the one with the lights that flash and stuff. How do you know when to downshift?
KentGoSuzuki it's all about feelings when driving the car.
Damn that was amazing! I love how he slows down at the end and waves at the guy as if nothing happened haha
Do you, GoPro ever respond to Comments or complaints on RUclips?
100% RESPECT for You Ken
Man that track/stage looks really awsome. Really want to test that one out with a escort mk2 or something like that :P
i hope this is how the next dirt sequel looks like..... it was just awesome.....
I want to see the same angle from Ogier and Hirvonen! Thanks :)
Mother of god! That course is tight!
what does the stick on the far right do?
Have you never heard of Kimi Raikkonen? Robert Kubica? They have done both. Kubica had an injury that stopped him driving F1 so he had to settle for rally. Do some research before posting stupid comments.
Sick video.
He says what corners are going to come. How fast the driver (ken block) can take them and how sharp they are, that kind of stuff.
How fast was he getting up to like gear-mph?
where are the other cameras, Ken?
Watch out for that tree!
Grabbin 6th LIKE A BOSS!!
GoPro + Ken Block = RUclips Gold
Best pilot ever!
does navigator ring a bell?
Kimi wrecked quite a bit and returned to F1, which is where I'm a fan of him most. :)
I'm sorry, I haven't seen your Rallycross videos.
Needed more angles, like Ken Block in Russia there was about 100 GoPro's used in that, just saying this was too static for my liking and felt like it need one on the front or something but still Ken Block is a boss!
He's definitely the gnarliest driver out there!
What does the person on the right do with that sheet of paper anyway?
never felt so near to death... OMG the reality of this video is just fantastic
the guy is telling what angles the next turn is and how far it is away. its commonly done for tracks that are hard.
Also like his gymkhana videos he has went around this track like 100 times before.
It's more of an art than a sport :)
WOW wicked driving.I class myself a good driver the difference is MASSIVE.
The video stated that they were "testing".
Why does he start in the second gear?
The guy on the right is a spotter, A spottter ussualy has a map in his hands and tells the driver what kind of terrain/turns are up ahead
ken block + go pro = epic
how fast is he going?
Wikipedia search: Bronze in first ever X Games rally event at X Games XII, silver in Games XIII, first place 2008 Rally New York USA, first race of 2013 season, Mexican rally, he gets his first six points for the championship and score a best-ever 7th overall finish... yeah, he's a bad ass rally driver!
Calls out upcoming turns and their intensity.
What kind of car is he driving?
the speed from 2:00 to the end... WOW!
The camera's position is to high, visibility of the road is not very exciting. I would rather put camera in lower position.... Just a thought ..
trees really don't give when you hit them. I know. Used to ride dirtbikes...
keep up the good work ken
This man is absolutely crazy!
Awesome! Really nice! Respect
Balls of steel. Pretty sure I heard them clank together a few times
True. I am sitting at my computer and dream of having that career/life. Kimi Raikkonen did but still they are completely different types of racing. Loeb for example was very slow in a Formula 1 car and an average driver in FIA GT.
The guy has a stereo system?
why so many gates at the end
Where can I order one of these ford ?!
I had the chance to drive one of his fiesta rally cars through a short course. Max speed was 130. Well MY max speed hahaha which isn’t fast for that short course. The way these cars handle omfg man!! Who is better that I should watch *two years later*
Not sure is Short Shifting or Tiny Gear Ratios ...
I've always said to my self. "How cool would it be to be a rally car driver?" After watching this its hard to say I've got the nuts
The person on the right gives notes to the driver so he knows what to expect:-)
yoooo sick videooo!!!
That is a heap of skill to be able to make it through that gate at full speed D:
i am amazed the shear weight of the brass balls on those guys don't upset the cars balance.
Can't stand Ken Block, but I LOVE rally videos with natural sound... especially this one without being able to hear the notes being called.
Most people would barely even do that road at 30 mph. Ken Block... 100+ mph. Nerves of steel.
he is so good
I like how he waved at the end
so does gopro only own one gopro?
Wow , this dude drives awesome...
dude...i'd be going around those corners at like 5mph looool amazing to watch!
Lot of people don't realise just how battered you can get from being in a racecar going full tilt, rally cars especially.
why he using so high gears? (5 when 2or3 will work)
Tommy712rus the road is gravel Tommy, he would have fallen of the road if he was on high rpms
alot of balls and skill.
this was crazy intense!
ken block: hey bro want to go for a drive.
dude on the right: im doing homework bro
ken block: just do it while im driving.
yes, but only 8pkt in 19 rallys.
