I agree that those those wheels were Period Correct on many cars. Thunderbirds were typically driven by older, very conservative people who never even realized they had a big 4bbl carburetor & 429 V8. My first car was a 1970 Impala. First thing I did was buy those same rims & RWL tires. I thought it looked cool as an 18 year old. The following year I was selling the car. After multiple unsuccessful attempts, one guy took me aside & laid down the law. He said my car was gorgeous, but most people wouldn't be interested as long as it had those wheels. He said it would sell much quicker if the originals were on. My suggestion is, take those wheels off & sell them. Put back the originals with a nice set of period correct whitewalls. 🎉
My 1971 four door T-bird had a 429 V-8. It drank the gas in town, but got real good gas mileage on the highway. I like the looks of the four door T-birds better than the two doors of the five years Ford built this car. These are beautiful cars.
I had a '71 four door Thunderbird. I like the tail lights of this car much better than the tail lights of the '67 and '68, and '70, and '71. But I like the grill of the '71 best of all. These are big, beautiful cars. But they ride too close to the ground.
The neutral safety switch could be a problem when this car was new. Just read a copy of Consumer Reports magazine from this era and they complain about it with every Ford product that they tested.
This is the first make and model of car i ever rode in... exactly the same paint and interior. Beautiful car 👍...i remember that the back armrest was my child seat 😅😅😅
Those rims and tires are gross. Put it back to its stock condition please! 🤪
YES! Not ok.
Put it back to stock, please!
Fabulous. Ditch the tires/rims.
Get rid of those wheels pleeeez. ❤
Our Family had these cars! They are wonderful!
The wheels ruin the car
The wheels are hideous
Suicide door's 😎😎
I used to own one a 69 Thunderbird with the 429 thunder jet

Great car! Funny that he called the tires bias ply when they say radial in bold white letters, lol.
I had this very same car in the same color. Except my rims were stock. I sure miss it.
The back seat does not have the wrap around feature that was in the 2 door.
Epic classic, wheels are what us 70s teenagers would do.

Now, if it were a 2 door ! 😊
Gorgeous interior for sure!!
