Gimme dat K-5! Just got my first kayak last year and I can’t wait to get on the water once this ice melts. I used a 10lb boat anchor all summer and it was a huge pain. That K-5 and an anchor wizard would do wonders!
Love your videos my man. I finally got serious about wanting to haul my kayak down to the pond (1/3 of a mile and the path is too narrow for my truck. Probably gonna have to go with some bigger casters to handle the roots and gravel along the trail). I scrounged up enough scrap lumber to build most of that kayak cart (a lot of it from busted up pallets). Now I've just gotta put it all together. Might adjust the width on mine because I think my NuCanoe Frontier 12 is just a tad wider than that Hobie (you got a sweet kayak btw). I posted a while back on that video, I'm gonna have it all ready by the pre-spawn down here in Georgia. I'm not nearly as handy with the wood working as you, but you have a ton of cool ideas I'm tryin to copy. I'll see if I can post a video reply when I'm done with it.

Hey TJ, I have that same net in Orange and I extended the handle on it... makes it a whole lot easier to use... I extended it with PVC, Epoxy, and some rivets for extra security then covered the handle with X-Grip heat shrink from amazon.... theres also great stuff inside the handle, I had to use a long piece of silicone air hose on the nozzle of the great stuff to get all the way down the handle... WEAR GLOVES... LOL

Due to the pandemic and travel restrictions last year, I started fishing a local fast moving body of water (predominantly a sandy/pebbly bottom), and I could have used this style of anchor. I bet my last dollar the K5 would’ve kept me pinned! Oh that T-shirt, damn cool! 🎣👊🏼
A big drawback for the Boondox is theyre really only useable on boat ramps. As someone who launches from beaches, dirt paths, or muddy areas, they were not very useful.
What do you do to prevent someone from stealing the trailer at a boat ramp? I'm thinking about using a utility trailer to put my kayak on instead of car topping 😰, but I'm scared of it getting stolen at the boat ramp 😬. I've seen how easy it is to take one from a vehicle 😳. Anything you can share with me would be great 🙂.
what is the point of that little pulley system on side of yak in beginning of video. I always wondered what that was for and Im new to kayaks so I don't know everything about em.
Awesome overview - certainly some ideas to consider for my PA14 360. I like the phone and speaker mounts. I'm a quad-lock user as well - love that idea to have the phone handy. I've been connecting mine to a lanyard and keeping in my PFD pocket. What mount did you use for the speaker and how did you mount to kayak? Really like that idea for tunes on the water - had a really long peddle into tide & wind friday - luckily had tunes on to power through.
@@chriswkbrd no worries, I used a similar setup last year and it worked well. My kayak is at the beach, but I'll see if i have a pic - recollection is a ram ball mount and mounted it there.

hitch locks, chain locks for extra security and the receiver lock.... nothing is completely safe if they want it they'll get it...

its an anchor trolley, be best to youtube it but it basically positions the anchor front to rear depending on where it needs to be.....
