Christ never forced God's Law on others, He said "repent & believe". The Great Commission calls us to preach the gospel to all people of all nations, not to establish nations. Not only that, but there are serious consequences on trying to force morality (even an objective standard such as God's Law) through human law. No one is perfect, so it won't be implemented perfectly which leads to injustice. Also, you can't convert unbelievers through morality. Forcing your views (via human laws which are enforced via force & coercion through the state via cops) is itself immoral even if the laws are good. You are forcing your will & your interpretation of God's Law on others. & even then which interpretation of God's Law? I know the Reformed community would not appreciate Roman Catholicism's understanding of God's Law, or Mormonism which would allow polygamy.
If you want what the Great Commission is talking about, research Christian Anarchism. And no, Romans 13 & 1 Peter 2 aren't counterarguments, however 1 Samuel 8 is a counterargument for Christian Nationalism.

Every law on earth is "forcing morality". If you out someone in jail for murder, you're forcing your morality onto them. Your argument is advocating anarchy. If we can have any law at all, then it should be fine to have it be specifically christian.
Literally no one is talking about forced conversion, instead we're talking about marriage, no child sacrifice, and no usury. No more pretending atheism is "neutral", it's not.

Christian nationalism is ultimately flawed because nationalism is inherently isolationist and therefore has no room for spreading the Gospel to the all the nations of the earth and fulfilling the Great Commission. Under Christian nationalism, there is no room for the nations to all come to Jesus and declare that he is Lord as will happen in the fulfillment of Philippians 2 because nationalism will always be about being isolated as nation and not allowing for the unity of the church across the world to be the Body of Christ everywhere and bring the earth to its knees in front of King Jesus.

The biggest problem with the American version of Christian Nationalism is that it treats America like the new Israel and interprets OT passages that were prophecies about Israel/Judah as if they were written with the United States in mind. The other problem with American Christian Nationalism is that it elevates the constitution almost to Biblical authority, as if the constitution and the concept of democracy is the bar for what it looks like for God to bless a nation. Never mind the majority of Christians throughout the centuries who lived faithfully to Christ in countries that didn’t live under democracy or in capitalist society - and yet the church exploded and grew under conditions that most Americans wouldn’t call “blessed”.
I would encourage you to dig in a bit more into “Christian Nationalism” if you are going to say where you stand on it, instead of say, “I don’t even know what that means.” There is a lot to critique about it. But I assume you would lose a lot of your subscribers if you actually gave it a fair critique.

Luke 13:22-24 Then Jesus went through the towns and villages, teaching as he made his way to Jerusalem. 23 Someone asked him, “Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?”
He said to them, 24 “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to.
I don't see that any country is completely saved. If you ask me what does a country look like that is fully Christian, and what does that country's legislation look like? It certainly isn't the US. Turn the other cheek, open your house to strangers, give half of what you have as a rich church(country) to a poor church(country) so that you both can have enough, respect your leaders(even if it is Biden), do not concern yourselves with the things of this world, but be heavenly minded. No that certainly isn't the US. Just remember worshipping a flag is also idolatry. If you are really a christian your kingdom is the kingdom of heaven, not the USA.

The Sanhedrin had a pretty strong grip on the imposition of OT morality. As Jesus said- they sat in Moses’ seat. Rome seems to have given them a wide enough berth to “legislate” or to use your word “impose” their authority on the Jews within Israel; as we know they (Rome) allowed other local power brokers to do as convenient. When the Pilate (the secular authority) gave the people the choice the cried for Barabas’ freedom and ipso facto- Jesus’ execution. Now we know all things work together for good and what evil the enemy intended turned to the greatest good, but pause when denigrating the pastor who “doesn’t do politics” or defending which “obvious” political party to support and really… really consider your defense of the ends justifying the means. A short history lesson reveals “Christianity” imposing itself upon groups and nations and literal world empires as a recurring theme regularly with some pretty horrendous results (more awful for the gospel of Jesus Christ). I see more and more christian infotainers today making a case they would scold a sycophantic Marxist of making when judging historic precedent, namely that, -(That wasn’t TRUE (fill-in-the-blank) and WE will implement it correctly to our own glory.)

It’s like you are trying to systematically disciple the worldly and the fleshy, which is what the Catholics did and because of human error and sin, they are now idolaters. Don’t do that. Jesus has come to die so that whoever believes in Him may inherit eternal life, not to conquer the world including the damned and the cursed who hate and reject Him. “God and country” eventually will become the worship of the dragon and the beast IMHO. How?
Who’s the god of this world? Did Jesus say His kingdom was of this world? Did He tell His followers to be of this world and to love the things of this world? Is friendship with this world enmity toward God?
Satan is the god of this world who gives power to the beast. So, there’s the god in “god and country”
If we look back on history, Rudolf Hess addressed about a million Nazi members and he stated, “Adolf Hitler is Germany just as Germany is Adolf Hitler.”
The beast (the antichrist) will rule this world for 42-months. He will be the commander of the worlds mightiest military, “who can make war with the beast”, and he will subjugate the world through military conquest as revelation chapter 6 verse two tells us.
He will be the new Caesar ruling over the new revived Roman Empire. And much like how Hitler and Caesar were viewed as the embodiment of their nation, the beast will will be viewed as the same. There’s nothing new under the sun and history repeats itself.
The beast will be a nationalist leader whose set on global domination.
So, you can see how “god and country” quickly becomes the dragon (satan) and the antichrist.
Come out of this world and be ye separate. Focus on Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done. America will be part of the antichrist one world government at some point (Rev 13:7).
Politics is of this world and it’s a false gospel. All political parties say the same thing. “Vote for me and I’ll make America a wonderful place.” This is a humanistic false gospel. There is no political solution to a spiritual problem. We need to recognize the signs of the times and that we are in the last days. There’s not going to be a political solution to this because who would get the glory?
Also, politicians could legislate all moral laws, however, that doesn’t mean people will follow them. The only way they could get people to follow moral laws is by forcing their will on the people. The only way Donald Trump could combat the evil and be his supporters retribution is through war. And if Trump made everything great again, who would get the glory?

Its a straw man to offer that the Great Commission is wishful thinking if you don’t believe it means Christianity will come to dominate the world prior to Christ’s return. The Great Commission is about spreading the Gospel so that everyone in the world will either accept or reject it. But Jesus already said few will enter through the narrow gate. Most of humanity has and will reject the Gospel up until Christ’s return. The ideal government will come AFTER Christ returns, not before. That appears to be clear from Scripture.

1Corinthians ch.5:11KJV"For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? " So the sanctification of the believers not regimentation of the unbelievers is to be the concern of JEHOVAH'S true church.
And let's have a closer look at Jesus' commission.
Matthew ch.28:19 "Go, therefore, and make DISCIPLES of all the nations,.." If you need to put a gun to a man's head in order to compel an outward pretence of Christianity you have NOT made a disciple of Christ of that man. There is no political path to JEHOVAH'S Kingdom.

Moral laws have to be derived from somewhere or someone. If not Christ, then from man apart from Christ, and if not from the Word of God, then from the word of man. A Christian nation is not a nation of Christians. It is a nation whose morality and ethics come from Christ rather than man. And whatever is not from God, or for Christ is from those who are against God and Christ. If they were for God and Christ, the morals and ethics would be the same as Christian Nationalism anyway. But because they are against God and Christ, they are Anti-Christ. My opinion is that Christians against a nation founded on Christian values only care about themselves, not their neighbors.

I realize my response may not be a welcome view in this issue and many will disagree. Please hear me out though.
I see Christian Nationalism as a methodology of uniting, particularly conservative leaning Christianity, to a common voice and mindset. God and country. What two aspects of citizenship can have any greater significance? I mean you love God first and country second.
What could possibly be wrong with that? Inherently nothing, right?
At face value nothing. On the other hand everything! Not too far in the distant past I would have been right there on the bandwagon with the idea of Nationalism in general. When the descriptive Christianity is added then it must be a Holy Alliance.
I believe this to be far from the truth. It is a deception to distract well meaning believers into a funnel of social and political issues with the intent of manipulating current of thinking, behavior, beliefs and emotions.
Let me begin to explain. Jesus emphatically points out in John 18:36, “ My kingdom is not of this world (speaking to Pilot). Well before Jesus entered the scene in His teaching and healing ministry the Jewish leaders had mistakenly misinterpreted the scriptures to suit their own selfish political and social desires. They took God’s promise, to the Israelites, spoken through Moses to make them a great nation and focused solely on the earthly aspects of the promise. What they failed to remember or chose to remember was that God’s promised earthly recognition and prosperity based on their obedience. It was an oath and a two way relationship which involved commitment and adherence to its terms.
Instead the religious leaders wanted a Messiah who would come to command and conquer and release them from their earthly oppressors of bondage. They had no desire for a Messiah whose kingdom is, and still to this day, not of this world. They had no room for a Messiah who came to conquer spiritual darkness and free them from the bondage of sin. Like the Laodicean church they felt they were rich and in need of nothing.
What a sad state to find oneself in when the Creator, the One who lead their ancestors out of Egypt was in their midst to lead them out of spiritual Egypt. But they could not recognize him.
We likewise are in similar peril. Do we recognize that the bridegroom cometh? Who can argue we are living in unprecedented times?
The book of Revelation says, “the whole world wondered after the beast.” (Rev 13:3)
How does that happen? The very short answer is mindset. There has to be one mind. One uniting issue and event to polarize and unite. I believe Christian Nationalism is just one of those ideological fronts to accomplish this process. Satan works on many fronts and he is the most successful in the shadows where he allows the human ego to flourish and congregate itself on its achievements. Christian Nationalism appears to be a good thing and a godly thing standing up for noble issues, those who can’t speak for themselves, standing against the tide of the ungodly.
I’m not saying not to give voice to these issues but largely it is a distraction.
Over the past several years I’ve personally come to the conclusion we are not to become so involved with these issues or what party we identify with that it causes conflict in the church. We are to come before God asking for humility of heart and discernment for the times we are living.
I think it is important to view the news and events taking place in the world to gain perspective on where we are prophetically in earth’s history. I believe Jesus’ second coming is not too far off. We can not allow ourselves to be sucked into the ideology and mindset of the majority no matter which way the wind is blowing. To do so is to fall into deception and distraction.
The world is being primed for the implementation and acceptance of the mark of the beast. I realize this may sound like a stretch but it’s about mindset. If we are focused on earthly issues to the extent it supersedes the heavenly we are at risk.
The mark of the beast is not something physical such as a vaccine or chip or tattoo. What has always been the issue? What was the issue in Eden? “ Did God really say?” ( Gen. 3:1) The serpent questioned God’s authority. We also questioned God’s authority and who rules the universe and our individual lives by partaking of the fruit. We became disloyal to God.
The mark of the beast is therefore a sign of who has authority in your life. Is it God or man/Satan?
What is the standard? God’s word. His law. The mark of God’s authority is found in the 4th commandment. Here is where you find out who is the creator and how and when He expects you to worship Him.
But man, just like Cain, wished to create his own form or day of worship. We can follow the line of Cain and see its results. Likewise there is a false way and day of worship set aside by man and not by our Creator.
So I appeal to you think and study on these things.
Christianity today is looking for solutions to our sin ravaged world. We are seeking man made solutions. Jesus is of course the answer but it’s not about fixing the planet we see today. This planet is wearing out like an old garment (Isa. 51:6).
John said, “ And I saw a new heaven and a new earth for the former had past way.” (Rev 21:1)

I think the question we need to be asking is not if, but when. When will the obedience of the nations be accomplished, before Christ’a return by His work through His bride or by Christ Himself at His return?
Personally, I lean toward the latter, because I see that to be more Scripturally consistent, and intuitively more God glorifying. By Christ accomplishing it Himself, at His bodily return, it would leave no doubt in the mind of men to whom belongs to glory of conquering nations!

The time of Jacob's trouble is an illustration confirming that God's people will go through the great tribulation at the end of time. Jacob and Esau represent two classes of people. Jacob, the righteous; and Esau, the wicked. Jacob's night of wrestling and anguish represents the time of trouble through which the people of God must pass just prior to the second coming of Christ. Jeremiah refers to this time: “Wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness? Alas! for that day is great so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.” Jeremiah 30:6-7

@@watchmanofthenight2700 Jacob = the 12 tribes of Israel, not the Gentiles in Christ. Throughout the whole Bible, that is what Jacob is...the 12 tribes. Jacob was renamed Israel and had 12 sons which became the 12 tribes. Jacob is mentioned over and over again in the OT prophets as being all 12 tribes of Israel. The Time of Jacobs trouble is the great tribulation at the end which is a time worse than ever was or ever will be, and the central focus of God in the tribulation is finally bring the 12 tribes under the New Covenant as we Christians are today. Though the whole world will fall under judgment, God's main focus is on bringing the nation of Israel under Christ and His blood sacrifice. Daniel, Ezekiel, Jesus, Zechariah, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Joel, Revelation all make clear Israel is a reborn nation in the Holy Land again in the last times and tribulation, still rejecting Jesus and will not come to Him as their Savior until deep into the tribulation and after great and horrific persecution against them.
The rapture, whether you believe it pre, mid or post trib has nothing to do with this at all because the whole point is most of Israel is not saved until very late in the tribulation. Those of us in Christ today (both Jew and Gentile) are already saved, already have salvation and are one body in Christ. The nation of Israel is still on the outside looking in.

      Jacob/Israel is the Church.
It must never be forgotten that "to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, and to seeds, as of many; but as of one, and to thy seed, which is Christ." Gal 3:16
If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed; that is the seed of the promise in which Isaac is.
"In Isaac shall thy seed be called," for Isaac was born after the Spirit, and is the true seed.
Therefore all the children of Abraham are they alone who are born of the Spirit. For "We, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise." Gal 4:28
Isaac was freeborn; and none but those who are free are the children of Abraham, "So, then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free." Gal 4:31
So if any man has not the Spirit of Christ, the Spirit by which Isaac was born, he is not a child of Abraham and has no claim to any part of the promise.
For if you are not Abraham's seed, then you are not Christ's.
Jacob, the son of Isaac received the birthright from Esau, and became Israel after his night of struggling with God over his method of receiving the birthright. [Gen 32:22-32]
This struggle that Jacob had with God represents the time of trouble that many Christians will have in the last day when the Lord returns.
“Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.” Jer 30:7
