Harsha is correct, no country developed with Socialist economic policies. By the way Sri Lanka became bankrupt because from 1994, people voted for Chandrika, Mahainda and Gota, who were all supported by the JVP.

Then from robbery, unaccountability, more burdens on the fixed income earners, looking a blind eye on tax defaulters frauds, exporting essentials that are needed for basics (ginger, coconut, rice, local grown spices. Ok if the FE is accounted, redirected for less drug prices, and increasing domestic produce for local consumption, not ok if it also further uplifts and strengthens those to make them MORE stable but at the cost of those marginalized ( a significant number) . The total lack of accountability and instead asking those who have already taken more than they can economical hits, but as you promote give more to those who have.
Socialism is espoused and carried out by many countries successfully, as long as you basis is entrenched in the upliftment of all rather than a select few and allow uncontrolled corruption, and a disregard for human values. Nearly twenty years, and you still don't know.
