I dont know why so many people dislike the old stadiums...
    I really love them *-*
they have their own special spirit!
One problem i'd agree is that in some stadiums, the crowd is too far away from the pitch.
    Anyway, I really like them^^

These are dated stadiums and probably decaying only another stadium distaster or a stand collapsing causing hundreds of deaths will they then build new stadiums the mokandi bridge collapse in genoa is a prime example of what can happen when not maintained too a level of safety standards.

They are only ugly if you like soulless generic white bowls like in Germany. At least these stadiums have character and you can tell them apart from each other. England is starting to head in the direction of the boring white bowl.

I really cannot comprehend how come the Italian clubs aren't following the examples of the other leagues and their teams, like England and Spain and Germany. Or how come they don't even follow the example of their own fellow teams like Juve and Udinese, which are the only teams that actually own their own stadiums. Hence, they're the only ones with modern, strictly football stadiums, that can be compared with the ones in the other strong leagues.
I mean...Maybe some of the small clubs don't have the money, but don't tell me that a club like Napoli can't find money (which they'll return in a period of 15, 20 years) to build a new and modern stadium?! After all, they're not a poor team, they play fantastic football, have a big support of the fans, and if they build a new, 50-60K modern stadium without the athletic track, things will only improve. They current attendance is 40K, and with a new stadium, it'll only go up (all other clubs all over Europe had proven that to be 100% true), and the entire revenue from the tickets and everything else will go in the club's budget, not just 1/3, and all rest in the city council's account, as it is now. Then, the club will become financially stronger, they'll have a new modern, strictly football stadium, where the fans will be right next to the pitch, and they'll be able to stand tall when they play in CL.
And taking into an account that Spanish teams are nothing richer than the Italian clubs, and yet they all have awesome stadiums, the only conclusion I could come to, as a reason why we don't see Italian clubs building new modern stadiums, is the corruption! Someone's benefiting from this situation! Nothing else hold water!
I mean, even if it's not the top league now, when we're talking about the quality of the teams and football, it's still right next to the English, Spanish, and at least at the same level as German league, and yet, we see that even the leagues from Eastern Europe, like Ukraine and Poland, having ten times better stadiums than the Italians. I don't even want to mention the Turkish league.
And that's the reason why so many people are looking low at Serie A.

Valez If you've read my comment carefully, you'd see that I'm saying the exact same thing! Although I'm not an Italian, and don't know how the country works first hand, some things are very obvious. Just from reading the interviews with the leading ppl in the Italian football, or analyze some of the problems they're having when it comes to building a new stadium (the Roma's new stadium is the best example. I mean, given that they have the money, 100% ready project, and everything else, if it was in another country, the next season (2017/18) Roma would've been playing in their new stadium! And in their case, they still hadn't even start building it, which is pathetic).
And the whole situation really brings me down, because I'm a big Serie A fan, and I'm so happy that these last few seasons, the quality of the football has been significantly increased (just look at this season! Each round, we have a few great matches, and at least one that's exceptional. For example: Genoa-Palermo, Fiorentina-Napoli, Napoli-Torino...), they've changed the style, and now all teams play attacking football, with either 3 strikers, or 2 strikers and 1 offensive midfielder behind them, and the results are great!
But when we see a team like Napoli, playing on that ruin, San Paolo, it's disgraceful! I mean, they could beat Real M. in the CL's 1/8 final, which speaks enough about the team's quality, but when you see the difference between Santiago Bernabeu and San Paolo...it's devastating for every Napoli fan!
