Yes Sean… we need to get more out of the big 2. But fundamentally, our ability to score was not the problem this season. It’s our ability to defend and restrict the other team from scoring.

The Lions played like Voss, Cripps, and I want to, and the Swans played like the Blues actually have since R17. Who says pressure and contest isn't sustainable over the long term? LOL. Dennis Pagan(!) had his opponent figured out once again and they went in with a plan without undoing their own brand of football. So it can be done. Swans often set up terribly defending the corridor, zone-not-zone, guys some guys switching correctly, some guys guarding nobody, and left huge gaps which were easily exploited over and over. Sounds familiar somehow. Also Brisbane tags on Papley and an apparently injured Heeney worked a treat, and Gulden was a flashy spectator most of the time. Swans, on the other hand, took another part of the Carlton game plan and decided not to notice Zorko or Andrews.
All the stuff Sean is talking about regarding getting new players, a new forward line, need to get the ball to them, etc., sounds good but will not improve anything unless there is a change in coaching and overall vision. Which, apparently, there won't be. So we will probably stop doing what was working well entirely and try to imitate something else. Never mind how that thinking has derailed every season so far. But does Voss need a successful senior coach with a deep football brain to think for him, or does whoever is in charge need to get Grima Wormtongue out of his ear instead? If it's the former, why keep Voss as senior coach? Make him Head of Football and he can be the motivator and cheerleader that way. If its the latter, we need to have a different conversation entirely. Thank you for finally bringing up the Brad Lloyd issue. It's a mess and he needs to be held accountable. Someone tell me what he said or did about selection for the Brisbane fiasco and we can go from there.
