This video might be old but you have solved a problem of mine. I thought I needed a new printer my prints were faded and had voids but I changed my settings to vivid and slowed the print speed and wow what a difference. Thank you soooooo much this video helped me a lot and saved me money.
Thank you Connie for commenting to let us know your results after watching the video. We are very happy to hear that this helped you and you can now just print away and not have to purchase a new printer and still have problems. We hope that this has now made your crafting even more enjoyable!
I found your video by Google searching "best cardstock to use for digital paper". Although I don't have the Epson paper mentioned in the video, I have Neenah Bright White 96 64# after changing my settings in my Epson ET-3760 to the ones in your video, my print quality has improved 100%. I want to point out another setting that's not mentioned in the video. When you're in "Printing Preferences" on the "Main" screen, under "Quality" there's an option on the bottom for "more settings". A pop will show a slider that goes from speed to quality. Although I turned off "High Speed", this was set at 75% towards the quality side. I slid it all the way over to quality. I want to thank you so much for such an awesome video. I'm a new subscriber, Pinterest follower, signed up for your newsletter (thank you for the gracious coupon), and made my first order. Have a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! :)
Thank you so much @justmeinflorida for your compliments on our video! Thank you as well for letting us know how you found us (and we're glad you did) and for your tip on the new option in the Printing Preferences that allows you to choose your quality level. We are so happy to hear that our video has given you such improved results with your printing and we hope that your hobby has so much more joy in creating now that your printing is given you the results you have wanted. Happy Holidays to you and happy crafting!
I wanted to thank you for this video. I bought an economic tank printer and was having problems getting my reds right. I used all your suggestions and what I found was they helped a lot. One thing I did find was the image I originally used was part of the problem. I am now so happy with my printed images.
We are happy to hear that you found our tutorial helpful to get better prints with your new printer Fay!! Congrats on the new tank printer....we love ours and have yet to refill the tanks after all of the printing that we do! Happy printing and crafting!
Just looked up presentation paper, unfortunately 🇨🇦Staples & 🇨🇦Wally World both only sell it online. I print most of my images out on cardstock, though most of my plain cardstock is from 🇨🇦Michael’s. Limited selection here in the big city! I don’t get the variety of print options that your printer offers, maybe because I work in/print from usually Silhouette Design Studio or Word. We have Photoshop on my Hub’s new computer-the MacPro ground to almost a halt when I put it on the computer I’m using. The hazards of using 10yo computers! I am glad I found your video, the comparisons were very enlightening. Using a HP Officejet Pro 8720 and looking for a non-HP due to their habit of recharging the ink randomly and after each print.
We are glad to hear that you found our video helpful! If you can't find the paper at local stores, you can order it online through Epson themselves....and most times their price is equal to or cheaper! If you are looking for these print options.....simply Google search your "HP Officejet pro 8720 adjust saturation" and it will show you how to use this option. Hope this helps and that you get the prints you are looking for!
This was very helpful! I did try to find the paper you mention on Amazon in the US but didn't find it.. only Amazon UK. I'll check out different office supply stores like you mentioned. I appreciate your responses to ALL of the comments who had questions! Is very helpful. I've printed some of your collection on the Georgia Pacific papers that are "Premium Cardstock" and are 92 brightness and are 199 g/m so I think they are heavier than the 44 lb. I think they are more like 65 lb. and it prints quite well. Not quite as vivid as I'd like but I'm going to try adjusting the color settings like you showed us. My only problem with Georgia Pacific papers is that they don't cut well.. there is almost always a kind of fluffy shredded look to the edges, even when I use a brand new blade in my trimmer! I'll definitely try to find the Epson papers!
We are glad to hear that our video was helpful! You may want to check out Epson's website as they do sell it as well at a fair price. Before doing that though, you may find the Georgia Pacific paper that you have will work well for you once you have adjusted your printer settings as I have heard good things about that brand of paper and in that weight. As for the paper "shredding" you definitely will not have it with the Epson (just in case you're wondering) as we haven't changed the blade in our cutter as often as we should and it still cuts well. Happy Creating!
I had always used Epson until recently. I had the WF as well. I even had the wide format and it worked beautifully for about 6 months. Epson was of no help in fixing all of the problems that ensued....a far cry from the customer service that had had from them in the past. I am glad that you have a great printer and I hope that it continues to produce for you. I jumped ship. I am trying out a Brother and so far so good. I still have all of my Epson products and will continue to use them. It was great company in its heyday....they just need to get back to the customer service that they once provided. But it seems to be like that with most companies these days. So sad. I really enjoyed this video though. You provided a great service. :-)
Thanks for your joining in on this recommendation on the Epson products. We do understand that yes, companies don't seem to be what they used to....I guess we all have to make our decisions based on what is acceptable to each of us. We hope that your Brother printer continues to perform well for you for many years!
Thanks this is great. I have just ordered this printer - it will be so much better than having to change cartridges. I got the one without the fax but still an Ecotank looking forward to printing out my Nitwits collections :)
Thanks Kamili for letting us know that you found our video helpful! You will love your new printer with the Ecotanks....as we have not even had to fill them up since setting it all up about 4 months ago!! Thanks again and happy creating!!
Thank you so much for your tutorials or teaching whatever it is you call it I call it very informative I have many of your kits I have never been disappointed in them and I appreciate the fact that you tell us how to use your product it is very helpful I have learned a lot about how to print out igi papers because of you're teaching methods thank you very much
Thank you so much Diane for your compliments and for letting us know how you much enjoy our tutorials!! It really helps us to know what our customers are looking for....and we are thankful that you have taken the time to let us know! Thank you as well for your compliments on our designs, and we hope that you will enjoy them even more with the ideas we are trying to pass along!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I have an Epson WF 7610 and love it, but do find that sometimes the colors on the printed paper do not look exactly like they do on the computer. I usually use AC cardstock to make cards, 3D svg projects... I love being able to use digital paper. I tried a test print with regular printer paper with the original settings and the ones you show in your tutorial. Quite a difference!!!! Thanks again!!
Thanks for taking the time to comment Beverly and we are glad that you found the video helpful! It sure does make a difference when you make a few adjustments....and you'd also be surprised at how much better the colours turn out on certain types of paper.
Thanks for taking the time to let us know that you found our video helpful Melodie! If you are new to digital printing, be sure to check out all of our other video tutorials in our How To section here on our RUclips Channel.....we hope to help others enjoy this craft as much as we do!
Hey great video highly appreciate the information I am trying to get the best printer for cardstock, what would you suggest! I am looking into the epson ET 5170/ ET 5150
You are welcome and glad you found our video helpful! Always Epson for a printer. We've been doing this for nearly 20years and we've tried nearly all brands. Epson always gives the best quality print and has great machines as well. Their Ecotank option has been a real cost saver as well for ink! Good luck! @MsNiqabi
Well you may have just found your vocal doppelganger😁😁😁. Thanks for sharing you knowledge. Head over to his channel and see how much you sound alike! Janita
Thank you for this video. It was very informative. My go to printers have been Epson and Canon. I used to print a lot of photos and I found that they gave me the best results. I looked into buying the Epson eco tank a year or 2 ago but the 5 star reviews were only about 60 % and so I went with a canon to replace the Epson I had that wasn’t old but it was getting harder to find ink cartridges for it. I will definitely try the the Epson paper to print my digital kits
We are glad to hear that you found our video helpful! We know you'll love the paper and the results that you get with it....it's surprising how much of a difference it makes! Good Luck!
This has been helpful, especially the setting tutorial. I used your kits to create mini albums and like the Georgia Pacific paper you mention below. However, the one problem I have is, what happens if the book gets wet - pages printed on inkjets have a problem with the color running - so if something is accidentally spilled on them by the recipient then they have ruined the book. I'm experimenting with spray on fixatives-I've had a recommendation of Modge Podge but that gets expensive and it's time consuming to spray every page/element. Laser printers for everyday use are pretty much out of the question for most of us due to the cost of the cartridges. What is your recommendation for this dilemma? Love digital kits, but am hesitant since so much work goes into creating an album and as previously stated, it could be so easily destroyed by fluids.
Hi Loreeta....thanks for your message and we are glad that you enjoyed the video! We haven't got the perfect answer for protecting your mini album from spills and water, but Mod Podge would have also been our suggestion as we have seen others use it too. Good luck with testing your sprays, and please let us all know if you come across the perfect item....we'd all appreciate the tip!
I had a Epson and loved it. I have a Canon I got for Christmas but I still haven't really used it yet. I don't have a laptop or computer I have the iPad pro & Samsung Note 9 will my iPad work on your products to download and use? Will I need a certain app or program? Thanks I do understand a lot better than I did before. Thank you for sharing. Lorrie
Hi Jamin...we are glad to hear that you found our videos helpful! You can use an iPad with our designs, but you must have an app that has cloud space such as Google Drive. Your iPad has very little hard drive space and this is the reason that you need cloud space as it acts as your hard drive. Hope this helps!
Hi @Vesta McDonald....thank you for your question! Yes, there are wide format Ecotank printers on the market such as the Epson ET-7750. They are still a little pricey as they are a newer addition to company's product lines so it really comes down to whether or not its worth it to each individual.
Thanks for your comment ArtJournalJunkie and we are happy to hear that you found our video helpful!! We hope you find yourself some kits on our website to now try out this new information!!
Great video, just a question about embellishments, I assume you print on the same paper or you print on a thicker paper than the one showed in the video?
Hi @LeaFranceTV, thank you for your compliments on our video and your question! We print our embellishments on the same paper, but I do know that it is common to print on a thicker weight paper around 80lb/220GSM. We like the look and feel of the same weight as we usually decoupage some embellishments which gives them the weightier look and feel. Hope this helps!
Love your video. Question about your printer. it is no longer available on the Epson website. There is one on Amazon, but it costs over $700.00. Is there a more updated printer all in one you could recommend?
Thanks for your compliments on our video Catherine...we are glad you found it helpful! I would recommend the XP-6100 or the XP-7100 or depending on how much you want to spend the ET-2700 has the Eco tank feature (we have the ET-4550 and love the Eco tanks). I hope this helps you in your printer purchasing!
Thank you for this helpful video. I’m interested to know what paper you recommend for those of us who are using digitals for making journals ("junk journals"). I am using the paper you recommend for ephemera, but it is a bit too heavy for journal pages. I have used and love Red River brand matte photo paper (32 lb), but it has gotten pricey. Thank you in advance for any help on this. 🙏🤗
Thank you for your comment and we are happy to hear that you found our video helpful. I understand your need for a lighter weight paper for your journals. I don't have a specific brand for this lighter weight, but what you will want to look for is that the brightness is more than 92. This will give you excellent results....the lower the brightness number the more washed out or grungy looking your printing will come out. Hope this helps!
Thank you @Lourdes Padilla for letting us know that you found our video helpful! We hope that it answers some questions that you may have had and that you can enjoy your crafting even more!
Hi, I meant that the photo on the front of the Epson paper box was a river with a bridge and a castle. I tried to post a photo but couldn't find how. If you would like me to send you a sheet let me know.
Hi Be....I see what you are saying now about the photo that it was on the paper box. I think I've seen that scene as well! We hope that you love using it!!
You are more than welcome Amy....and thank you for checking out our videos and for taking the time to comment to let us know that you found them helpful.
Hi Diane.....yes, we still are recommending the same paper today! There has not been any significant advancements in the paper production and this still is our suggestion to give you the best results!
@@PerfectFragments Yes, we are! We have been able to print literally hundreds and hundreds of colour pages and have only refilled the black once. We also liked it so much that we have now also purchased a wide format Epson printer X-15000 to allow us to the large paper format as well. Epson has never let us down in their print and machine quality for over 12 years and 3 different printers.
Thanks again! I need to buy a new printer. I make journals and enjoy buying images and pages from artists like yourself, but the cost of the ink has caused me to rein that in. :(. So this info is super helpful.
@@PerfectFragments Glad to be of help and you will be really surprised and happy with the Ecotank option in these printers....it cuts down on your ink dramatically!
Hi Janet.....there are so many decent brands of cardstock out there, we have found the Georgia Pacific one to give great results. If you can't find that particular brand, just make sure that you get one that has a brightness of at least 92 or higher so that you know it will print properly and not give you subdued colours due to the paper not being as "white" as it should be.
Hi Dallas.....you certainly can print and glue them to cardstock if you are also making a mini album or card form, but what I find with this weight of paper that we've suggested (44lb) is that I do not need the cardstock at all. If you take a look at our Mini Wrap Journal video tutorial, you will see how I have just printed the 2 pages (inside and outside covers) and glued the 2 printed pages together to form a thick cover. I hope that this helps!
Hi Veronica....yes you are correct in that there is one side that is made to print on. It will make a dramatic difference in the print quality for you. We hope you enjoy it!
Thanks so much for this video. Somehow i seem to have purchased from walmart, an hp desktop computer that doesnt appear to have a word program loaded on the computer ive never heard of that but have tried everything And cant find a way to use word. Does thatmean i have to purchase the program! Thats an expense i cant afford for sure! If anyone has any ideas for me i woould greatly appreciate it. Also i have been looking for a good printer that will give me quality digital prints. I have seriously been looking at an epson ecotank. Especially because of the ink value. Do you still, in 2019, stand by your review of the epson. Please let me know as i have searched high and low for for someone to help me with my questions and issues. Btw, love all of your digitals! 😊
Hi LueLaBell....thanks for your compliments on our designs and your questions! Yes, Microsoft now charges for MS Word unfortunately. The only way to get it cheaper is to look on Ebay, etc. for an older copy for Microsoft Office that someone is selling. As for the printer, yes we still certainly recommend Epson printers, hands down. Everyone has their favourites and in our opinion Epson is the best. We currently have the ET-4550 ecotank and have printed hundreds and hundreds of sheets and have still not had to refill the tanks yet (and it comes with enough ink to refill them twice). I would encourage you on this purchase! Good luck!
HI Terry....thanks for your question! Yes, you could transfer this information about how to use your printer with printing on wood or anything else. This really is just general information on how to get the best print from your printer no matter what substrate you are printing on. Hope this helps!
NitwitCollections thank you. So, what I think you said is, I can print a downloaded digital paper and then transfer it using various transfer methods to wood or another type of material?
Thank you for the video. Just what I wanted to know, except I am in the uk and I can't find any Premium Presentation paper. Only photo paper comes up in a google search. Any thoughts on what to buy here would be much appreciated.
Hi Be....I took a look and found it on Amazon.co.uk at this link, as well as several other options. I hope that this helps you to find this www.amazon.co.uk/Epson-Premium-Presentation-Paper-Double-sided/dp/B00006B7PY/ref=sr_1_2?s=officeproduct&ie=UTF8&qid=1495534517&sr=1-2&keywords=matte+presentation+paper
NitwitCollections Thank you so much for taking the trouble to look for me. I had seen that I could order from America but it would take about a month and I'm wary as I think I would have to pay tax on it when it arrived so I was looking for something I could order from the uk.
Hi Be....so sorry that I did not notice that this seller on Amazon UK is from America. I would try looking at office supply stores. We have Staples and Office Depot (which we purchase this paper at), but I am not sure what the names of the store or chain would be in the UK. They usually have these options available, although it is a common, and not special order paper. Sorry I could not be of more help!
Just to let you know that I contacted Epson in the uk and they suggested Epson Matte Paper Heavyweight A4 167gms or 97 lb as an equivalent. I was able to buy it in Rymans and I have to say I love the quality of the print. The photo on the front has a river with a bridge and a castle.
Thanks for posting on this Be and for letting us know where you were able to find a suitable paper in the UK! We will definitely reference this to others in the UK who have this same question! Oooh your photo sounds absolutely beautiful and we are so happy to hear that you are loving the quality of the print! Happy Printing!!
Hi Pamela....thanks for your question. I would suggest using your inkjet printer as the ink cartridges are cheaper to replace and gives you equally as excellent of results are as your laser printer. Hope this helps!
Hi Julie....thank you for your question! The 44lb paper is very similar to what you would get when purchasing a scrapbook paper in the craft store. You certainly can go to a heavier weight, that is no problem at all.....we recommend this paper and weight as it combines quality and cost effectiveness together. Thanks again for your comment.
Yes, you are correct! You will see a light yellowish hue on one side and that is not the side to print on. You want to be sure that when you load your paper that you are printing on the white side!
You are pretty much correct Carol.....the only other difference is the paper weight. If you want to see the difference yourself, you can try printing on regular copy paper and then on a Presentation Paper. You will see the difference in the boldness of the colours and the sharp, crisp detail of the images. The differences in the whiteness also contribute to this better quality print. I hope that this makes sense, and we encourage to try it for yourself so that you can see the difference that these paper types make.
This video might be old but you have solved a problem of mine. I thought I needed a new printer my prints were faded and had voids but I changed my settings to vivid and slowed the print speed and wow what a difference. Thank you soooooo much this video helped me a lot and saved me money.

Have you looked into printers for 12 x 12? I keep look if for a wide format tank printer that will do 12 x 12 borderless.
Hi @Vesta McDonald....thank you for your question! Yes, there are wide format Ecotank printers on the market such as the Epson ET-7750. They are still a little pricey as they are a newer addition to company's product lines so it really comes down to whether or not its worth it to each individual.
Thanks!!
Thanks so much for the info! VERY helpful! Much appreciated... now off to look at your kits! Xx
Thank you ❤️
You’re welcome 😊
Thank you for the presentation. Which is better: inkjet or laser printer?
Hi Amina...thanks for your question! An inkjet printer is much better for home use as they are less expensive to operate and give you great quality!
NitwitCollections ohhhh that is helpful! Thank you so much. 🙏🤗
@@jeanneblondewomanstamping9788 We are glad to help and hope that this makes your creating so much more fun and satisfying
thank you. You were helpful!
Thank you @Lourdes Padilla for letting us know that you found our video helpful! We hope that it answers some questions that you may have had and that you can enjoy your crafting even more!
Thank you! Very helpful!
You are welcome Cheryl.....we are glad you found this helpful and hope that you get the printing just like you want it.
Is the Epson premium presentation paper photo safe?
Yes, it is perfect safe for papercrafting with
Hi, I meant that the photo on the front of the Epson paper box was a river with a bridge and a castle. I tried to post a photo but couldn't find how. If you would like me to send you a sheet let me know.
Hi Be....I see what you are saying now about the photo that it was on the paper box. I think I've seen that scene as well! We hope that you love using it!!
thank you so much for info, I really appreciate it.
You are more than welcome Amy....and thank you for checking out our videos and for taking the time to comment to let us know that you found them helpful.
Hey this matte paper can be used for book making as a book cover
Yes, it is a great weight for many crafts @sarah Manogna. Thanks for chiming in on this use!
Ok thank you very much! But it’s been 3 years since you did this video. Are you still using the Epson brand? Do you still recommend it?
Hi Diane.....yes, we still are recommending the same paper today! There has not been any significant advancements in the paper production and this still is our suggestion to give you the best results!
Thank you for getting back with me. I wasn’t very clear in my question. Are you still happy with the Epson printer? Thank you!
Thank You!
I normally use cardstock to create mini albums and cards. What cardstock would you recommend??
Hi Janet.....there are so many decent brands of cardstock out there, we have found the Georgia Pacific one to give great results. If you can't find that particular brand, just make sure that you get one that has a brightness of at least 92 or higher so that you know it will print properly and not give you subdued colours due to the paper not being as "white" as it should be.
So when you make a card or mini album, do you print on printer paper and glue it to cardstock?
Hi Dallas.....you certainly can print and glue them to cardstock if you are also making a mini album or card form, but what I find with this weight of paper that we've suggested (44lb) is that I do not need the cardstock at all. If you take a look at our Mini Wrap Journal video tutorial, you will see how I have just printed the 2 pages (inside and outside covers) and glued the 2 printed pages together to form a thick cover. I hope that this helps!
Crucibelle I think it was printed on the wrong side. Epson paper is bright white on one side a dingy on the other.
Good luck!
Can I use this to do a transfer onto something other than scrap book paper? Can I transfer this to wood?
HI Terry....thanks for your question! Yes, you could transfer this information about how to use your printer with printing on wood or anything else. This really is just general information on how to get the best print from your printer no matter what substrate you are printing on. Hope this helps!
NitwitCollections thank you. So, what I think you said is, I can print a downloaded digital paper and then transfer it using various transfer methods to wood or another type of material?
Hi Terry...yes that is correct! You should have no trouble transferring it to these other types of materials.
I have both laser and inkjet what is best to print downloads
Hi Pamela....thanks for your question. I would suggest using your inkjet printer as the ink cartridges are cheaper to replace and gives you equally as excellent of results are as your laser printer. Hope this helps!
Are you the guy from big like a pro?
Ha,ha,ha no that is not me, but thanks for asking.
Is this a heavy weight paper that feels like say a graphic 45 paper or a simple stories paper? If this is only 44 weight that's not very heavy, is it?
Hi Julie....thank you for your question! The 44lb paper is very similar to what you would get when purchasing a scrapbook paper in the craft store. You certainly can go to a heavier weight, that is no problem at all.....we recommend this paper and weight as it combines quality and cost effectiveness together. Thanks again for your comment.
The left paper looks yellow and the right looks white to me
Yes, you are correct! You will see a light yellowish hue on one side and that is not the side to print on. You want to be sure that when you load your paper that you are printing on the white side!
The only difference I can see is ..one has a creamy background and the other has a bright white background????
You are pretty much correct Carol.....the only other difference is the paper weight. If you want to see the difference yourself, you can try printing on regular copy paper and then on a Presentation Paper. You will see the difference in the boldness of the colours and the sharp, crisp detail of the images. The differences in the whiteness also contribute to this better quality print. I hope that this makes sense, and we encourage to try it for yourself so that you can see the difference that these paper types make.
