We're JUST their BATTERY! The Harvest: Humans as the Power Source of Alien Race | HFY Sci-Fi Story

On a routine exploration mission, a team of astronauts led by Commander Michael Hayes stumbles upon a distant planet, Zypheron, where the inhabitants-an insectoid species-have developed a unique way of sustaining their civilization: by harvesting human bodies for energy. The astronauts, taken captive, are forced into a horrific energy farm, where their bodies are drained to power the alien city. Hayes and his team must escape before they become permanent batteries for an entire colony.
Commander Hayes learns that the humans are not just used for energy-they are slowly being reborn as energy hybrids, creatures that exist between life and death, keeping the aliens' civilization alive for centuries. Hayes is horrified to find that the technology used to drain them is actually creating new forms of life from human DNA, and the aliens want to harvest his genetic code for their ultimate weapon.
As Hayes makes his escape with the few surviving crew members, they launch a desperate counterattack. But just as they think they’ve won, the alien queen sends a chilling message across their communication network: "We’ve already begun the next harvest... and you're the crop." Suddenly, Hayes feels a sharp pain in his chest-the energy drain has already started.
