Finally a real down to earth example of this plastic pipe nightmare, almost bought one till i ran onto this video, thanks for not polishing it up but instead letting it be what it really is. very much appreciated.
@@PurlClarinet Ah OK. That's the trouble with life... It gets in the way of music. I was hoping to follow someone else's journey for inspiration, 'cos I just picked one of these up and WOW is it ever harder than I was expecting! Way harder. True, I've never played any wind instrument before, but I had no idea! It sounds little better than a Kazoo in my hands at the moment, but some folks can make it sound so sweet, and I have no idea how long that takes... A year? A decade? A lifetime? Just not sure what to expect and its all a bit disheartening...
I think is cool for recorder players wanting a sax sound. But for reed instrument players to go backwards is like putting the training wheels back on. Still neat tho. Lastly it should be tunable to b flat concert scale otherwise you can't play saxophone music in concert band.
when the first time i got it i did quite struggling to play it but since i play sax with quite a bigger mouthpiece size (7C based on Yamaha mouthpiece) then i bought 6C soprano sax and by using it then i can play venova quite smooth ... to be honest i`m kinda like the sounds but it is also quite difficult to make it stay it tune especially in a long run of play! p/s: Cristine if you reed this i hope maybe you can make a music cover by using venova =D
Saya hobby bermain recorder/flute tapi tidak punya flute yang bagus soalnya harganya mahal jika di indonesia ,, melihat dan mendengar saya sudah senang, terimakasih
It's probably not using enough air combined with a pretty stiff reed. A softer reed would probably be easier for the low notes, but make the high notes harder to play. Pushing a lot of air down low usually helps. That is a common saxophone issue with beginners. For me, particularly, since I am a clarinet player I was initially playing it like I would a clarinet. After practicing a bit using more air and less lip pressure I am able to play down to the D. The C gives me issues still, though.
@@bagusnaga01 Yeah I've been through periods of that today, but by changing things around a bit a managed to fix it. The whole thing is a balancing act...
I have to say thank you because finally I found a video that the Venova sound is unedited and I can listen the RAW sound of this instrument!! Thanks!!
Glad I could help!
This is the purest video about the venova

Well, I unfortunately haven't had time to play much. Too many things with higher priority.

@@PurlClarinet weird thing is.. it is easier for me to got C and D.. but not E and F.. that's why i'm confuse.
