I see that a old man has a 2006 honda civic si 2 door with 49,000 REAL mileage because he has papers and i hooked up a pc to the car and it says its the real miles. The inside looks new. It looks like if nobody has ever sit inside. He wants 4,000 dollars. What do you think ?

The 550 actually falls apart faster because of the engine that is notorious for timing chain issues on the earlier built 350 and 550 engines.

My co-worker's wife's 2016 RAV4, 70,000 miles and a regular visitor to the Toyota dealership for transmission leak's, engine leak's and other problem's and the kicker, Toyota tech tell's him that's normal. Give me a break. Toyota, Honda, and GM are the most over-rated vehicles ever.

@L's Channel YT I tend to agree unless its a Lexus I used to work the auto service industry and we would laugh at all the codes that Mercedes, audi and bmws were showing up with at 10 and 15kkk the older ones were terrible and lets not get started on the rovers. Buying any car other than something for basic transportation is an emotional decision. That is okay if you have the money but if you are still making payments and the cars warranty is expired look out you will probably get hit with a hefty maintenance bill you were not expecting. That is not experience most people want to have have.

I have a 2013 E550 with 80K miles and I have never had one single problem with it. Is being properly serviced at the dealer and followed all required maintenance recommended. To Mr. Kilmer’s point, Mercedes cars are for people that can afford the cost of maintaining them properly. Don’t buy a used Mercedes if the seller cannot provide service records.
If you can’t afford a new Mercedes you sure as hell cant afford a secondhand one!
If you don't have 10 years of monthly expenses saved up, you cant afford any luxury car

Scotty is spot on here. I went down the used Mercedes/BMW road years back and learned my lesson. I was soon saddled with many $$$$$$$ repairs. Got me a nice Honda Civic now and I use that money on vacations instead.

Whenever I see a driver in a new Merc or BMW here in NorCal, I wonder how long until it breaks down.
I've mentioned this before on Scotty's channel..my friend has a very low mileage 2006 CLS 55 AMG..(he bought i 2010 with 48,000 kms/29,000 miles) and it was an absolute POS, airmatic suspension failure, supercharger failure, constant elec problems, suspension components etc etc..and he drove it nicely too, no racing etc. Spent $25k+ AUD in 2 years and it was just a money pit. Bad depreciation too.
The only Mercedes to have is an old Mercedes. I have one 52 years old and one is 27 years old.

I had a '74 Lincoln Mark IV and the A/C didn't work. Lots of heat, but no cold air. I charged the system, still no cold air. Had my head under the dash thinking, and I heard a whistle of air. Found a cracked vacuum manifold that was leaking. Me being cheap, I pulled the blend door line off and holy cow!!! This thing was blowing ICE CUBES!!! So that's how I fixed it! End of September, I'd just plug the hose back in........heat!!! Worked for me!!!

I am rich and I own a 96 Toyota Avalon with over 205,000 miles on it... A 2001 BMW X5 4.4i with over 207,000 mile on it and a 1994 Celica ST with over 337,000 miles on it and guess what.. They all run like a Swiss Clock. LMAO. How about them apples.
Makes sense to me. The couple millionaires I've talked to drive beaters. I asked them why and the answer that came from both of them is "Why spend tons of money on something that looses value so quickly?". I can't argue with that!

I wish more sedans had wood interior. Even though I’m young, I’m a bit of an old soul.
My 2005 CL55 AMG has wood interior trim. My 2016 E63 AMG has carbon fiber interior trim. My 2004 Explorer Limited has wood looking interior trim. It's plastic with wood decal on it. My 1986 Fiero GT... Forget about it. LOL. They were proud of plastic back then.
So far 330 MB owners(👎) watched this video.
Buy a late 90's Toyota avalon! I have one with wood interior and it's beautiful. You can pick them up anywhere from $500-$3,000

I`m shocked that Scotty does NOT realize the exceptional build quality and performance of Mercedes Benz vehicles. They are MAGNIFICENT cars. Mine is also 14 years old and I plan on keeping it until it is 20 YEARS OLD. Love the Benz. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’ve personally owned Toyota’s my whole life while other family members have owned other brands like GM and Chrysler junk. My cars always outlasted the others in quality and reliability. For example my sister had a new Chevy cobalt and within 2 years it was falling apart with engine light on, bad sensors, window regulator broken etc. I’ve never had a problem with any of my Toyota’s, just do regular maintenance, oil rotation, change filters and that’s it. Needless to say my family is also starting to switch to Toyota vehicles. My sister recently traded in the cobalt for a new Camry.

I can confirm this on the broke people end. My neighbors have 2 mercedes and they are on foodstamps/work low paying jobs (I know this because they talk on speaker phone about their business while outside) Every few months for the past 2 years one of the cars beak down and then I hear them on the phone crying about how they dont know how they re going to afford the repairs/begging ppl for money

I own a 2007 Toyota corolla . The engine and transmission do indeed run like a clock. But I have had suspension and brake issues pop up since I owned it, and I’ve only had it for a year. Every car has issues I guess!
This is one of my favorite videos I show it to a bunch of friends who want to buy a used bmv jag or Benz or lease one when they talk about getting these cars I crack up because they only want one to impress people but they are broke and there is no way they could afford maintenance or repairs.. I learned from watching over the years when someone I knows gets some kind of settlement they buy a car that they can't afford to begin with instead of buying something that's not going to cost them every dollar they get. I like my money to work for me not for paying to impress people. If you don't like me because of who I am then that's on you lol

I’d pay good money to see a full week of Scotty working in a Mercedes dealership. There’d be ambulances queuing up taking customers away murmuring “so stupid, how...why.. I should’ve known..money pit” By Friday For sale sign on the business.
I serviced my 2012 Toyota religiously from when I owned it at 30,000 miles until the engine failed at 127,000 miles. My 2015 Mercedes is at 130,000 and counting, not a single issue at ALL.

It doesn't hurt at all. Very comfortable and very solid car. Most of the codes in the video are only because low voltage at one time. But its ok, more bashing at Mercedes, better prices for me.

Exactly why would you even badge a 500 as a 550😂 I have both a 2003 E500(with about 250k miles, runs just fine) and a 2007 e550 (135k miles runs just fine too aside from a small coolant leak I had a few weeks ago that I fixed myself). Just buy the 550 if that’s what you want people to think you drive. E550s and CLS550s aren’t that expensive now
@@diablocls55 Sure, they're not too expensive now, but good luck finding one that was well-maintained. I've driven several AMG Benzes and some of the 550s and they're all just beat to hell and back at the lower price points.

When I worked in salvage we sold a ton of MB parts. Insane amount of modules. The AC units flew out as soon as they came in, especially for the mid to later 2000 models. I recall selling a 2008 SL AC controller for $700. Very expensive cars to maintain. And those Comand units....Oofff....A lot of dealerships wouldn't "let" customer's buy used ones. They refused to work on them. We would record video of the units working and some would say "Oh, this units bad. No power." New ones cost thousands. Then there's the special programming, etc... You have to really want one of these cars.

I am driving my fourth Mercedes. I learn to self service it so it does not cost much yet to run. However, I also just bought a Toyota RAV-4 hybrid and also very happy with it. Image/status does not matter much now, if anything I would rather to be as low key as possible. Even Lexus seems poor value to me, always more expensive to the equivalent Toyota.

My father was a mechanic and I spent a lot of quality time in the garage with him, we would buy and flip cars, I now drive a Mercedes that’s 17 YEARS OLD now and with the proper knowledge and maintenance they are amazing luxury cars. But to the common person, who don’t have the tools or knowledge, stick with a Toyota 😂 much more forgiving.

when I was in Germany nearly all Taxis were Mercedes,I saw many of them with 600k-800k Miles on them still going strong and looking really tidy.if that’s not a proof of great reliability I don’t know what is.

I bought a 2010 s class, a year and half ago, with 111000 miles, now it has 164000 miles, I had no problems whatsoever!.... it's really an amazing car.. I paid only around 300usd for some miner maintenance.. Scotty you must know that every car can be bad depending on the customer driving and maintenance... I can beat the heck out of a lexus, don't throw all this hatred .. in this way you make most of the poeple get afraid from buying a great car like Mercedes, and believe it or not , they are an amazing cars!, yes I can say from a personal experience that my car is reliable cuz am taking a good care of it !

Sorry to break your fantasy, but no. Very reliable cars, very comfortable and reasonably fast. Parts are bit expensive but the life span of them is longer. If you do your own work and don't go to the dealer, will not hurt you wallet at all.
no not really .My dad has owned a 2006 w203 and that car has never had a problem .no matter what you throw at it it will take it
