- It was an exciting day at the Ernst Bros Garage! Nick surprised Pop to unveil his newest purchase; a beautiful 1947 Buick Roadmaster Convertible!
In this video, we take a closer look at the car for the very first time, from rolling it right out of the truck, to cleaning off the dust from years of sitting in a warehouse in Virginia. This classic Buick is going to be one heck of a restoration project. Nick and Evan will be dialing in the stance, driveline, and most importantly, getting the Buick straight 8 running again for the first time in years!
A lot of people see a Buick Roadmaster for the first time and think they are a Buick Series 40 Super or more specifically, a 1947 Buick Super. It isn't. In a future video, Nick will walk you through how to identify all the different classic Buick models, including the 1947 Buick Super Series 40.

Great ! You have a awesome Buick Roadmaster Straight 8 in pristine condition 76 year younger. A work of Art in all respect. In looks and mechanically. See how best you would like to preserve it.
It's georgeous!!
The Caddy is a sweet ride. But for styling, that Buick is 10 out of 10.
Well ! Take a look at that ! Hi Nick . What a super find ! Although l'm a born and bred englishman l love these Buicks and with the "fireball " straight 8 , great cruisers ! I went to a car show in 2009 and met an old boy with a Buick straight 8 sedan. He was a tank commander in the second world war and was just one of those characters you never forget ! He'd seen my Jaguar and raved about the engine bay and how immaculate it was and insisted l had a look at his Buick . When he opened up the hood l'd never seen a straight 8 ! Jeez! It was a sight to behold ! And then he started the old girl up ......my word ! Foot to the floor and he held it there for ever ......well more like 30 seconds ! But he wanted to demonstrate the build quality of these mighty engines ! Well , you must decide what you're going to do with this great car but get it running , take it for a 200 mile trip and then decide if you still want to fit an LS ......you may just change your mind ! Thanks Nick and say hi to Evan and your dad !
Awesome story John! I probably will heed your advice first and get this inline 8 back on its feet first before making any decisions. Will definitely post a "first start" video if we get it going! Thanks again for your support! We appreciate it!
dude, awesome find but please keep the origional engine... i feel you for wanting an ls, but there less and less pristine examples of complete origional cars on the road today...
What a marvelous work of machinery!
Barn find, this? Man, they do have some barns over there!
Wow, you could be your own part in Mullholland Falls!
It's beautiful!
👏👏👏
Keep it as original as possible.
I will try my best! That is the plan as of now...
Im going right now to look at one just like it is 30 th a good price?
The Banker, the Doctor, and the Lawyer drove Roadmasters because since they worked for a living and did not want to show off. Caddy’s were driven by people who had streets named after their relatives.
The interior would be rich in Buckskin colored ultra leather.
Agreed. 🙌
- I am officially reporting you for presenting pure car porn. Please don't stop. Give the Buick str8 a chance. If you ever heard one run, it's unique even among str8's.
don't you dare LS that car. Shame on you for even thinking that
Lol you guys don't know what you have
