    I've been working my way through your superb videos. What you have achieved in your mirror is fantastic. I love the way Curlew kisses the water at the bow. Doffing my cap and thanking you both.

    Very pleasurable to watch as always. I really must get my head around the patch repair that my Mirror needs. Caused by a careless builder on the scaffold while we were having work done, a brick has punched a 3 inch hole in the hull, in the bow area. Need to scarf in a piece but I have chickened out so far! Must get on it for next season.

    Hello, i have recently acquired an early Miracle (in wood) and about to join the dinghy crusing association, are there many members in the Sussex area? Id like to set mine up for crusing and sleeping on. Great videos, very inspirational! Vernon

      Hi Vernon
      We usually sail in the Solent/Chichester Harbour and we get several boats turn up in good weather. We have more members in W than E Sussex as it is is more convenient for sailing. D

    Having just had my 3rd dinghy sailing lesson along with my first 4 capsizes within 20 minutes on a relatively calm inland reservoir (admittedly in a toy-like boat that has more in common with an inflatable banana than yours which looks much more seaworthy), I'm interested to know how easily you could recover your little ship when it's loaded in its cruising trim?

    • @msf60khz
      @msf60khz  5 лет назад

      Well, we try to avoid capsize. For instance, I don't do racing-style gybes or tacks. And I reef early so the boat is never hard pressed. I also avoid sitting out, because that would mean a capsize if there were a hole in the wind. All the kit in the boat is tied in, in theory. I have an auto mast head float to prevent inversion. I have intentionally pulled the boat over on a lake, but touch wood, I have not capsized in 25 years in this boat.

      @@msf60khz That's interesting thanks. Is the Mirror fairly stable anyway? 25 years sounds like an incredible record without a capsize; I'm hoping to up mine to 25 minutes - I live in hope anyway!

      The Mirror is quite stable, and a bit of equipment in it such as anchor, food, water and clothes makes a big improvement. Good sailing.
