    Stayed in Thailand in the 90s and had no problems but Cambodia is the future. For anyone trying to pick i would suggest 1-3 months in different locations and decide for yourself.

      Yeah. I think that is my plan. I have been contemplating my next step and I am thinking of heading back to Siem Reap and see how I feel there after a few months.

      Thank you very much. That means a lot coming from you guys. I try my best to be comfortable in front of the camera, but some days the inner introvert wins out and I can't do it. Haha

      I'm glad you enjoyed it. There will be a lot more Cambodian content since I just came back and plan on staying for quite a while. It's a lovely country and I really enjoy it here.

    It's good to see you so content. Also, I'm impressed by your use of dissolves instead of jump cuts. I wish more RUclipsrs had a good sense of production values.

    • @FrugalWanderer
      @FrugalWanderer  7 месяцев назад +2

      I was absolutely content in Siem Reap. It was an amazing place to visit and I can't wait to get back there.
      I'm glad that the dissolve transitions work. I also do not enjoy the jump cuts I normally see in most RUclips videos. I'm not sure if I'm showing my age, but they are too jarring for me and tend to distract me. Thanks for the feedback my friend. It's always appreciated.

      It was way beyond anything I was expecting. I miss it terribly and I can't wait to get back there in a little while. It was just what I needed. I'm glad you both enjoyed it too. We will have to hang out there someday soon.

    Cambodia has the best VISA for retirees for long term without monthly VISA run. You can live in Siem Reap and visit Thailand and other SE Asian countries any time.

      You are reading my mind. Haha. That is my plan. I just got back to Siem Reap the other day. I have found a delightful little apartment to rent for three months and I'm going next week to get my visa submitted. I am looking forward to this being my home for the next while. I really love it here.

    You can still see the same French colonial influence in the architecture! The food looks tres yummy!

      The architecture was definitely appealing to me. Having lived in Montreal for a few years, I do enjoy the french influence. The food was amazing and I can't wait to try it again soon.

    I lived in the praires where the air is so dry, you could taste the dirt and dust. My skin cracked all the time and hated the feeling of cream on my skin. Now living in a humid area and appreciating it much more as I don’t have to worry about rubbing lotion on.

    • @FrugalWanderer
      @FrugalWanderer  6 месяцев назад +1

      I lived in Alberta for a couple of years and I remember how dry it used to get. I prefer living with humidity for sure. There are days that it gets to be a bit much, but I wouldn't go back to the arid weather if I don't have to.

    • @FrugalWanderer
      @FrugalWanderer  5 месяцев назад

      Yes. I am spending less and living a way better life here than I did back in Canada. You can easily spend that much, but you just need to be mindful of what is important for you. For me, local food instead of western food saves me a ton of money. It's healthier and way more delicious for me. Plus I don't drink or smoke. So that's not a concern for me. My favorite entertainment is seeing a movie for $2.50 every week. They have lots of interesting films and the theater has ac to relax in for a few hours. It's great.

    Couldn't handle SEA w/o ac. I'd never be able to sleep with the heat.

    • @FrugalWanderer
      @FrugalWanderer  7 месяцев назад +1

      I understand this very well. Having a nice fan definitely helps keep you cool, but it's so much nicer to have AC instead. I put the AC on a timer here. I have it in while I fall asleep and then it slowly warms up as I am getting up in the morning. I have found my balance I need.
