This is a frequent visit for me. The tension and gruffness is just trademark Vivaldi. It's clear by the artful colour change at 2:22 that Del Vivaldi knows the significance of this lyrical moment where, through simplicity, Vivaldi shows his rhythmic mastery by not writing even sixteenth notes but splitting the fourth into two. The sort of imbalance this creates plays well with the haunting melody from the soloist pulled from the first violins. This combined with the harmony... I don't have the words. Countless moments of genius are in this piece. Another is in the third movement at 9:40. Vivaldi's attention to articulation ("sempre sopra il canto SEMPRE" [Vivaldi really wants us to play it this way]) with the scordatura creates this echoing effect from the pedal point in the violin part, which bounces off the viola's. Then there are the jumping eight notes in the violins that tease the listener as they must endure the breath-holding athletics in the soloist's part. It's too much to handle. I love it.
Wonderful concerto!!!! It's always Vivaldi, but it seems a little more melancolic, deeper, not the usual sunshine, and I like very much this new kind of mood.😯
The opening of this concerto and some musical patterns are quite similar to RV 390 violin concerto. They share also the same tonality. Maybe the are some connections, maybe the same idea and deep meaning.
Vivaldi experimenta cordas soltas, arcadas diversas. Nos movimentos rápidos não extende o lirismo e entrecorta-o com ousadias figurativas. O lirismo está no movimento lento. No último o mestre dança com triolés .

I love your description!
For me this is the best violino concerto by maestro Vivaldi!
It certainly is a stand-out for many people.
@@DelVivaldi Yes!
@@ArtedelaCiencia Yeah! And RV 333 is the other best one.

I’m ngl the colour change scared tf out of me (in a good way)
Which color change ?
The violin sounds a bit like a tromba marina one.

Why is this different from the Riccardo minasi interpretation
