Saw Josh Groban in concert about 10 years ago. He was funny, kind, and seemed like one of the nicest dudes alive. Also, amazing voice. I had never heard of him before that night(girlfriend drug me there), so no bias.
My mom loved this song, she raised me on josh groban. I'll always remember her when I listen to him. She died 7 months of cancer at the age of 52. I remember so clearly, her sitting in the chair, eyes closed , singing with him.

Some say it doesn't sound like it, others say it does and some say it was definitely inspired by the Icelandic version. This song. Man. I lost my Daddy, at the age of 47, in 2005. I was 26 and MAJOR Daddy's girl. He meant EVERYTHING to me. He was an AMAZING, CARING, STRONG, LOVING man who was full of INTEGRITY. I miss EVERY SINGLE DAY. EVERY DAY. He loved music. He was in law enforcement for 26 years but he was also a man of God and sang in a gospel quartet. He had a beautiful tenor voice. This was the last song I ever listened to with him. He was so impressed with Josh Groban's voice and just absolutely loved this song. It was just he and I sitting there the day he played it for me and like I said, he just loved it. I found him deceased just a few weeks later. He had an honorary service funeral and I insisted that this song be part of his service. He had dedicated his life to his 3 daughters, God and protecting his community. He was well respected and the community embraced and supported us and we just couldn't have appreciated it more. It will be 14 years he has been gone this coming September and I still cry everytime I hear this. Of course, I miss him and that hurts but I cry more out of pride and just, being thankful that God allowed me to have him for a Daddy. Really great song.
