This video is a step by step guide on how to properly apply vegetation to your weapon system.
If you got something out of it, please let us know, we love hearing feedback, and if you have any questions about the process please comment and we will help you out!
Camouflage is an artform!
We will be releasing a video on how to spray paint your weapon in the very near future as well, but to start off make sure you have some basic supplies.
Fabric strips, or scrim roughly 2-4' in length (Tan, light green, or light brown) are good base colors
Shock Cord roughly 20' in a neutral color like tan or brown
Rubber bands, boot blousing bands, or hair ties will also work but not as durable as shock cord loops
Camo Face Paint, doesn't matter the color just stay away from black, most likely your muzzle on your bang stick is already black, in the video I use Hunters specialty camo face paint tubes, they are the best I've found for both use on my face, and lasting on a weapon
Other items that may be helpful are a pair of gardening shears, or a small foldable veg saw
Step by step guide
Step 1
Apply a base layer of fabric or scrim to start to break up the outline and contrast of your weapon, if you haven't watched the video we posted on the 9 elements of visual perception we recommend doing so. Once you've applied the layer make sure its tied or secured so it will not unravel.
Step 2
Tie loops of shock cord that are anywhere from 8" - 18" in length, I use a double overhand knot but any basic knot should do the trick, size them to length as you wrap them around the front half of your rifle
Step 3
Once you have the scrim and shock cord on you can start to gather veg, make sure you stay within the baseline, lots of new students tend to pick veg from high and low but what it means to stay within the baseline is that if you are laying down, what veg grows to that height, vs if you are standing straight up, what veg is around you at that height, if you take the veg from the ground and put it on you while your standing you will cause an anomaly in the baseline and put yourself at greater risk of being spotted.
Step 4
Apply the vegetation to the sides and bottom of the handguard or barrel, leave the top of the handguard fairly clean and clear until the end and then add the top of the rail keeping in mind that you want to be able to see out of your optic, the vegetation should lay on your gun similar to how it grows in nature.
Step 5
Apply Camo paint to any black parts facing the target / objective area, in this step as well you can gather and make the birds nest that was shown in the video, make sure you weave it tightly so it doesn't come undone during your movement.
Step 6
Do a final check to make sure everything looks good, look through your optic and trim away anything that's causing major obstructions, and remember there will be some small obstructions but you'll be able to burn through them with your optic.

The boys are back!!!
yes sir!
I bet if you added a suppressor cover first the scrim material wouldn't melt. Would need to test!
Suppressor covers melt really easily.
Thanks for the refresher on how to do this. It's been a while since I went through this training and it all came back to me as you went through your video. BTW, this was the first of your videos I've watched and love the content and you have a new subscriber.
Glad you got something and appreciate the support man!
Is it just me or do the mosquitoes sound like small RC planes😂
Haha good catch
Awesome friggin video!!!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge on Camo and Concealment with us, I just found this video and you have another Subscriber.
🤘🏻👍🏻🤙🏻
Hey, bro. Thanks for taking the time to go through it step by step. Really appreciate it.
Absolutely man, glad you got something out of it!
Where can I get those scrim cloth strips?
Carcajou Confections!
These as good ghillie videos dude 👍
Just a tip about getting your gun cerakoted. Make sure they use a medium that won't cut the metal. Had one cerakoted, matched upper n lower and the upper and lower came back sloppy as...(insert comment). He was like, "what, thats normal " ...no dude, no its not.
Great vid ! Thank you .
I have a large 50mm with a flip-up dust covers, any suggestions on how to camo?
Spray paint with a flat/ matte color, add some sand or dirt while still wet to add texture
👍
I always wondered how they kept the objective lens from giving them away. Now I know.
Glad you learned something man!
What tripod is that?
Hog saddle!
wish I saw this earlier
🤝🏼🥷
Newb question, if you’re melting the camouflage are you still sniping?
it works great for airsoft but my 300blk would melt that material
I'm disappointed. That rifle didn't look like a scout sniper at all!
lol
Promo_SM 😠
Nice video
is this a joke?
What kind of experience do YOU have at disappearing within reach of people or game animals??? I would bet a week's wages that YOU don't have any at friggin all, but PLEASE tell us all how a friggin "expert" like you would do this better, and it ain't buying some cheap ass Chinese Scrim that looks like belongs in a Kindergarten Class.
🐐 👑
Calm down
Would adding a anime reconsurco sticker improve the gun?
Might have the slice it up a bit but it might be the final touch to finish off any build.
+5 cool points
Good information! What I don't understand is why you inserted almost all the grass horizontally instead of at like a 45° or verticalish to give the appearance of normal grass. It seems to me like that would give a more broken up silhouette of long gun instead of flat grass but, I am eager to read your reply. Looking forward to more great content!
its gonna be harder to see through your scope when you put everything up vertically... Blending in 100% doesnt do anything good, if you cant see anything...
i think flat grass doesnt even stand out so much if you only do it on your rifle and not whole body, since sometimes grass flattens naturally because of wind, animals or fallen twigs or simply because they die
So its not a big enough disturbance to stand out instantly i guess
@@pascalshakur718 Interesting perspective Pascal. But even if he did like a "V" with the grass along the barrel and minor veg in the line of sight would still allow one to see the target...
@@KrisSays good point, but what if you have side-wind, that winds your V in front of your sight... and also if you move your rifle slightly, the grass will move unnaturally with the rifle, which maybe gives more disturbance than "flat"...
but at the end of theday, imjust speculating and we would have to ask the professionals
@@pascalshakur718 or go give it a go...
@@KrisSays unfortunately easier said than done... i live in switzerland, where its allowed to own guns and in theory we almost have the same amounts of guns per capita *than USA* (i think if you only count rifles even more), we are not allowed to carry them tho.... most ranges are indoor and the woods are so small, the chances of somebody calling the police on you is sooo high, its not worth it(even if you run around with a wooden stick probably)... but i found some fun in airsoft, and i guess this is a place where i can try it out, even if its not the "real deal"
Do you have any experience with German concamo
I’ve used multicam, but since it’s fairly close I’m sure it would work well
Where can i get the laser cut scrim? couldn't find the link. Thanks!
Carcajou confections!
I may be showing my age here..
But between the Diamond on your arm and the word “recon” in the channel name, I have to ask…
You ever steal a stop sign on Margarita?
You oughta be giving lessons on camouflaging an upper lip, “your moostache hairs is in violations…”
Excellent video!
Thanks bro!
You did not leave a link for that scrim
Awesome
Thanks dude
Very thorough🤝🏻
Thanks bro
Having graduated from the designated marksman course at Lejeune, I find this information very entertaining.
