Love the channel and Saab content, spent 4 hours Saturday replacing the seals on the power steering pump and vacuum pump to solve the 2 remaining oil leaks on my Saab 9-3 Aero convertible- Sunday no leaks and feeling pleased with my efforts - Sunday evening my neighbour who has always commented how nice my car was decided to reverse into the front wing and has probably written my Saab off.. I hate 2020
The front wing is easily replaced. if insurance write it off, just buy it back and fix. That's what I did when hit in the rear by an uninsured driver. ruclips.net/p/PLOaePmzqZNJ0osI1OTPvz9dkfCN8eBZUC
@@CycloneCyd she doesn't want to involve insurance as she wants to keep her no claims.. there's also damage to the alloy which makes me wonder about the steering, suspension and as its a convertible and the dents near the A pillar - whether the alignment with the roof will be an issue??
@@45graham45 its a bit up in the air at the moment - the last month has been nuts, I managed to get a wing in the same colour as my car, had the alignment done then had knee surgery days before Xmas and now lockdown and shielding for the second time.. but have found a body shop still open who will fit the wing next week - sent the neighbour the total price to get it all sorted and he hasn't even acknowledged my message...
Great video! I seem to have an issue with the connector on the passenger side headlight: SID often tells me the bulb is out even though it's new, the parking light doesn't always work, and the whole thing flashes on and off when I wiggle the connector. Is it possible that the connector on the headlight itself is bad? I know they get really hot... can the connector itself on the headlight be changed or do you need to change the entire headlight?
It might be the connector on the harness side. Each terminal is the 'female' side and it looks a bit like a tiny ducks bill. If these have 'opened' up they may not be making good contact. try closing them together a bit. Also clean each side down with a good contact cleaner (this is very good amzn.to/2TueRIA). Allow to dry and reconnect. See if that helps
Any chance you have a link for decoders and load resistors as I want to swap my sidelights to led and thought it would be easier to ask than fail with the wrong setup. Cheers nigel
Hi Cyd, I have 2009 FACELIFT aero TTid, that i will be replacing the headlight units on. I assume the bumper removal etc is the same on the latter models??
Cyd, love these videos and have done several updates to my Saab based on them. Thank you very much for posting them. One question for you. I have a 2003 9-3 Vector and all of a sudden, both of my headlights stopped working at the same time. I have looked up this issue on some boards and they keep pointing me to an Orange Headlight "Relay" (not really a relay) box that has a history of the solders inside going bad. The problem I am having is that I cannot find this Orange "Relay" box in my under hood fuse box. Any idea where this would be on a 2003 9-3 Vector? Or if I should be looking elsewhere? I have replaced the bulbs but that did not work. Any info as to where I should be looking will be greatly appreciated.
Nah, you've been advised wrong. Probs someone with an OG who doesn't know thing one about NGs. Check all the electrical connections at the light switch and the fuse box. The beams are dual fused and the only thing common to both lights is the switch. Switch failure isn't common, probably because most people leave their headlights on so the switch rarely gets "used". Try another switch first. Ron can help you Saab93turbo17@gmail.com he's in the UK
I’m having trouble removing the ‘side lights’ to replace the bulbs which are located in the main unit. Do you have any advice for this without taking the unit out itself? Cheers!
I have a 2007 Saab with cloudy headlights. I hate the concept of removing a bumper to do this, so taking to someone who can do it for me. I have bad luck with these things.
You think that seals on the edge of the headlight is important? I think mine is a little bit old (2003) and always after carwash i got water on the connectors of headlight inside engine bay! I will send You a few photos tommorow.
A mix of big d and small D around the edge of the headlight should do the trick bit.ly/Seals_various. I also put a length of P down the sides of my bonnet - helps to quieten the car a little
I've done front splitter and have the rear equivalent 'in the can'. I can do the side skirts. It may well be much closer to Xmas though as she's going to have her cylinder head change soon.

Absolutely helping me with several of my 2003 Saab 93 issues.
thank you very very much I tried in my saab 93 2003 with xenon light 75 W 6000k .
it's amazing ,I saw a big difference
I knew you could get 50W xenon bulbs but didn't know you could get 75W. That should be brilliant.
Love your videos. Can you show us the light reflection of the new lens at night please.
Great. Thank you as always.
I'll definitely use this info thanks 👌
Are you feeling the need for a refurb to your headlights, then? 👍
Excellent. To-the-point and very helpful 🤝
Thank you for this instruction
Where do I purchase those headlights upgrade 2007 9-3
Thank you for the video! What do you suggest for a new rain seal along the outboard edge of the headlight. They are weathered and decomposing
