My Beautiful Africa ❤. I missed this country for almost 20 years, being out of my favorite place on the Earth, living and working in the USA. Knysna, since I visit this little town in 2000, took my heart forever. I fall in love with South Africa and I could not already live any where else. I moved out of Russia to South Africa and lived there before to take another move to the USA, Florida, I left my two daughters in South Africa as I knew I will be back soon. Last year I bought a house in Knysna but now I am retired in the US and ready to move to share rest of my life and whole my love with my favorite place on the Earth as my love to Africa for time I was out, got even more deep ❤❤❤. I cannot wait when finally I will back to settle down in my new home in Knysna, joining my family, which grow more than double now 🥰.

My wife was born in Knysna in the 1940,s . She spent the first years of her life growing up in a little Hamlet called Goukamma. just to the west of Knysna, her father being a Govt. Forester. As a family, we spent almost every holiday there. God,s own Country,

Interesting bit of trivia that recently became quite relevant, the Storms river bridge was designed by Riccardo Morandi, the same chap who designed the Morandi motorway bridge in Genoa Italy that collapsed in August last year.

The South African Rand will depreciate as the country slowly falls apart. I wouldn't invest in knysna even though it's a lovely town. I spend 2 months there every year.

Are all those wood carvings made locally? I know from experience that you need to be very careful in Hawaii when you buy them. Many are fakes made in Indonesia.

Not sure about Knysna but in KZN they carve them on the side of the road. It's usually local or maybe from Mozambique

One other thing that's very good about reading books to gain knowledge is like Margret Mead book is a study on primitive society.is living with the people, during the dance of the females was able to protect her self from becoming pregnant, and if she did become pregnant, they all loved the baby like it was there own, and thought it came from above, and useably the older female would engage in sex with a young boy, and a young female with an older man.
