This game improved the first game’s mechanics in every concievable way. It creates such a dynamic system that’s incredibly engaging and has a tremendous skill ceiling that isn’t just about how fast your twitch actions get, it’s about adjusting your approach to fighting the vast amount of different enemies in the game that leave you room to fight each one in many different ways with many different weapons, all demanding different skills from the player. It’s gonna be a while until anyone really masters this game. After playing Hard, Very Hard is gonna kick my fucking ass.
I maxed out everything in stealth tree first, now working my way through the hunter skill tree. But stealth is so much fun, just sneaking around. Invisible & silent striking most smaller enemies in one shot. I’m still early game, only 20 Hours in but stealth has been really useful throughout so far 🙂
I’m the opposite, lol. I usually enjoy stealth but the combat in Horizon is so enjoyable that I enjoy running in to the fight and just going at it. It’s tough in Very Hard mode though. These machines can one hit you fast.
@@TrueComboKing I always attempt the stealth approach first, but if it’s a bigger machine, I’ll just silent strike it for some good initial damage. As it obviously won’t kill it immediately so then I go into full combat utilising all the weapons etc. just a good starting point to silent strike first for a good chunk of damage in most cases to make the fight easier.
That overhealing ability with potions truly helped lessen the impact of the attacks during Death's Door while I was trying to shoot the couplings off the recluse spider
I really love the braced shot and focused shot from stealth tree as it just makes ur sniping feels 10 times better. Especially with the lower tier variants of sharpshot bow only needing less rare materials - it's a lot of fun blasting them like this
Braced shot is a great opener to combat I like it and also the fact you don’t have to hold it fully you can pull one off fast and hit a machine closeby as it is less accurate. With fully upgraded tear damage from stealth and a good bow I reckon it can be a good opener to remove a key part off machines.
@@dartheastman1599 400 to 500 dmg straightup and I am using vindicator armor that has 2 weapon stamina+, I get two shots at beginning and very quickly the third shot, it is really powerful and I took down thunderjaw, with this pairing on valor hunter ranged power up (gives u back stamina on hit and MORE BRACED SHOTS WE GOOO) even though I am like level 28 and has barely any upgrade on my gear
Figure I'll just add this in the comments as maybe it'll be nice tips for others. One of the best mid-game Valor Surges is actually in the Machine Tree. Part Breaker is really, really good, increases your damage by a decent amount when attacking parts, and excellent when you need to farm them, as at lvl 3 it'll stun an enemy allowing you to more easily break another point or weaken it. However, if you want pure damage, no fuss, no muss? You want Range Master. At lvl 3, the increase to range damage + Weapon Technique Damage and Stamina Regen are kinda insane. It's also a fairly long lasting Surge. You can delete pretty much any machine in the game with Sustained Fire on a Brittle Target with Range Master Up, and finish it up with a few Sharpshot arrows afterwards in my experience. Even on Very Hard, you'll tear through the toughest machines with this combo.
When I first arrived at the starting area of the full map it seemed small to me, until I spent over 5 hours just in the far right corner of the map near chainscrape. This map and scale is overwhelming.
I love how much there is to do there, it wasn't until about 10 hours into the game that I even started the Embassy because I wanted to explore everything and do all of the quests.
The skill that shoots a power shot with the sharp shooter bow is OP as hell. I forget the name but so far i have not found a single enemy that it doesnt one shot or nearly kill. Not all the way through the game though.
I’m really hoping we get an AC Odyssey type mastery system. With the number of weapon, damage, and skill types you could have just as many options as they did. Which adds more value to leveling past cap and gives you something to do with skill points instead of getting skills you dont want
Thank you for the tips. I've never missed a Horizon Zero Dawn video of yours, and I seriously doubt I will miss out on any of your Forbidden West video's either. Keep it up JorRaptor!
I've been having problems at level 23 against some tougher enemies. Braced shot helps a lot now that I have it, and the explosive spears I got in Chainscrape can eat away a lot of health. I still have to find a shock bow or get my existing one upgraded to allow the shock arrows. Zero Dawn allowed me to find the rare purple bows pretty quickly. I have no idea where those are in Forbidden West - I do kind of like that you have to upgrade the bows to unlock their better abilities - it keeps the game from being a buy and win.
Use frost arrows to put machines into brittle (chill) mode as quickly as possible. Then use something with high impact damage to do a lot of damage. I literally use a impact spear. Its super cheap material-wise too because you dont use any crazy explosive materials to do high amounts of damage
Sorry, but I believe that, if it's still in the game, to get is the whistle skill. So that you can lore your target to you and take it down with stealth. First, it could just be my eyes but I could swear that sometimes when I move straight forward Aloy seems to veer to the left slightly. Second, even with aim assist set to max there are times when I don't know what the game thinks I'm aiming at cause I'm not hitting my target.

Thanks for the vid! Can’t wait to play it tomorrow after work! Usually I start the game at launch night but I can’t a free day tomorrow so only after and the hype is super real!!!
Can you get every skill? By just doing side quests and leveling up normally? Someone said I had to save side quests for later or I won’t be able to get all the skills because I would have done them all.
Their are Plenty Of side quest and opportunity to level up in the game. I highly doubt you would need to save your skill points. I would definitely choose a skill tree your interested in the beginning. I’m still in the beginning of the game and acquired 16 skill points. I’m sure their Will be plenty Of Stuff To Do
@@dannyfreed3535 I think they’re saying save side quests for later, not points, implying (I presume) there’s some multiplier you can unlock which would make the return on skills points higher later in the game. Like if you were to wait till the end of the game to do side quests, there’s a potential 2x multiplier which means you could potentially get twice as many points.
I just wanted to ask because I'm still relatively new to the game even though I got it a while ago when you're in the forbidden West for the first time in the game and you find that scrap camp is the armor in that camp worth it the quest I mean
I think it REALLY sux that they don't let you reset your skill points in this game when you could do so in the 1st game. I don't understand that. It was such an important thing in the 1st game in case you messed up in allocating skill points or wanted to try out different ones.
I can’t get the skill with the Hunter bow where you individually load up to 3 arrows to work. When I aim with L2, and attempt to load with tapping R1, it immediately does the previously unlocked skill where she fires a high arching volley of 3 arrows. I don’t get it.
in the first gaemt ehre was a spot wher you could kill a big trex machine very easy, then go to the campfire and save adn tehn the trex was tehre again so you could warm exp, scraps and other stuff, does anyone knows a good point in forbidden west
I stil don't understand how the weapon skills are supposed to be helpful. I haven't found a single instance where a skill provided any relevant increase in damage or precision compared to properly using dodge rolls and concentration. Is there some element im missing? It's getting very annoying to have tons of abilities that never seem to matter.
Today so finally the day horizon forbidden west finally releases! 2022 is going to be an incredible year for Sony. Hopefully it’s not 2019 or 2021 all over again for that matter lol
they not only nerf the triple notch to cost stamina, it also prevent this skill from being used with any bow weapons other than hunter bow, so no more sharpshot bow triple notch. Adding so many things to make the game more tedious and less fun

Just started playing HFB this morning. Can’t wait to get off work and then pull an all nighter with Aloy!! 🙆🏻♂️
My last comment sounds like I don't like your content, but honestly I am a great fan of u, especially of your Horizon content 😊
i missed the timestamp but the video you referenced for best gear(i think that's what it's called) isn't available
any info on that?
Thanks for the vid! Can’t wait to play it tomorrow after work! Usually I start the game at launch night but I can’t a free day tomorrow so only after and the hype is super real!!!
Is there any equivalent to the slow down time when you jump skill in this game?
I'm only like lvl 38 and I've already got all the skills I want. Basically everything except the mele tree, except for the warrior bow skills.
Can you get every skill? By just doing side quests and leveling up normally? Someone said I had to save side quests for later or I won’t be able to get all the skills because I would have done them all.
Where did you read this? Why would you have to save them for later?
Their are
Plenty
Of side quest and opportunity to level up in the game. I highly doubt you would need to save your skill points. I would definitely choose a skill tree your interested in the beginning. I’m still in the beginning of the game and acquired 16 skill points. I’m sure their
Will be plenty
Of
Stuff
To
Do
@@dannyfreed3535 I think they’re saying save side quests for later, not points, implying (I presume) there’s some multiplier you can unlock which would make the return on skills points higher later in the game.
Like if you were to wait till the end of the game to do side quests, there’s a potential 2x multiplier which means you could potentially get twice as many points.
I just wanted to ask because I'm still relatively new to the game even though I got it a while ago when you're in the forbidden West for the first time in the game and you find that scrap camp is the armor in that camp worth it the quest I mean
i found your channel coz of the 1st game and its amazing seeing you do video for the sequel now
Great vid.
06:51 Does anyone know what outfing is he using?
I think starting with survivor and just weaving skills back and forth from that tree is probably most efficient.
Does anyone know what the skill or whatever is when he aims the hunter boy and the targeting reticle changes and the arrows turn blue?
Can’t wait to play this tomorrow. I’m off tomorrow and gonna be playing this all day lol
Thank you for the good technique❤
Thank you. You are doing All Mother’s work here!
I'm late to the party, unfortunately I have been busy and couldn't play this game. Thanks always, Raptor
I'm going to strive away from your videos after this! I don't wanna see anything else, the skill tree, I don't mind! So excited. 🤩
Does anyones character glitch put while in photo mode...? It looks like Aloy's clothes sometimes are blurry, or in a motion animation
I feel like maxing survivor should probably be mandatory before anything else. Except for a few really priorities in hunter, warrior etc.
I think it REALLY sux that they don't let you reset your skill points in this game when you could do so in the 1st game. I don't understand that. It was such an important thing in the 1st game in case you messed up in allocating skill points or wanted to try out different ones.
you can reset your skull tree though?
@@uziy Lol I posted this around launch. A more recent update made it so you can finally reset skill points.
@@uziy I don't have a tree growing out of my skull, but if I did I think Groot would be quite impressed!
ClawStriders Are Fast Or Slow While Riding Them ????
How does the melee resonator blast work i melee nonstop and never get the blast
Did they take out the long dodge roll that was in the first game ?
Hey how do you unlock more slots on the weapon wheel I find that annoying I beat the game and still can’t figure it out
I pre-ordered the Regalla Edition. I can't wait.
I can’t get the skill with the Hunter bow where you individually load up to 3 arrows to work. When I aim with L2, and attempt to load with tapping R1, it immediately does the previously unlocked skill where she fires a high arching volley of 3 arrows. I don’t get it.
You've gotta change it on the weapon wheel. L1 to pull the wheel up and then arrows to change the special, I had the same problem.
@@BigMcLargeHuge51 brilliant, that did the trick. Thanks for the info!
How do you do the triple notch if you also have volley unlocked?
What does the plasma status effect do?
Doesn't anyone know my the 3 burst arrow skill isnt apply in gameplay? It keeps shooting arrows raining down instead. I'm tapping r1 while aiming?
I have a question how many skill points do you need to unlock all of the skill trees
This sequel is such a huge improvement over the first one
in the first gaemt ehre was a spot wher you could kill a big trex machine very easy, then go to the campfire and save adn tehn the trex was tehre again so you could warm exp, scraps and other stuff, does anyone knows a good point in forbidden west
i can't switch to burst fire or spread shot, already unlocked it. But when i try to switch it shows the skills is locked. i don't know why??
Thanks for the tips bro
Wow what skill was that with the rod and the lighting ?
Awesome thank you
hi i lov e your videos1!
Is Plainsong plowhorn is the only cow machine?
What tv was this played on it looks smooth
I've played the first game, and i like it. I don't have ps4/ps5. Waiting for PC version
Great video! Worstgamer approves :)
Today so finally the day horizon forbidden west finally releases! 2022 is going to be an incredible year for Sony. Hopefully it’s not 2019 or 2021 all over again for that matter lol
How do you unlock the upper valor slot?
@JorRaptor any plans of sharing game play ?
Does anyone know how to get your skills to the next level? For example, how does Concentration go from Level 1 to Level 2?
Should I work on infiltration first
the art style is amazing
Are there flying mounts?
Great tips! Thank you very much for sharing your machine hunter knowledge :)
i am not able to that tripple arrow thing. Instead of shooting straight it starts shooting 3 arrows from the top instead. Anyone else has same issue?
Does anything carry over from the first game like skills or amour or bows as spent hours getting all the mods lol
Nothing is carried over from Dawn to West but some skills you already know in West which you need to spend skill points on in Dawn
@@zacharious386 ok thanks for replying actually makes sense new amour and new weapons new skill trees
they not only nerf the triple notch to cost stamina, it also prevent this skill from being used with any bow weapons other than hunter bow, so no more sharpshot bow triple notch. Adding so many things to make the game more tedious and less fun
Does anyone know if dodge prowess in Zero dawn is still here?
So all the skills you can unlock AND max?
