Mufti was at Azadville, then did Ifta in Durban by Mufti Ebrahim Desai (rahmat-Allahi alayh) and Mufti Husain Kadodia, and then studied takhassus in hadith in Benoni, by Mufti M Bhana and Mufti B Saber. Both were close students of Sh Fazlurrahman Azami
