Thanks for the videos reviewing the HUDs. I just want a clarification from you. You reviewed the A8 then you received 2 other units from the same manufacturer. The links you provided for the A8 and the Q7 show 2 different manufacturers. The A8 from Eoncore and the Q7 from Aootek. Are these manufacturers the same?
im glad there is no messy cable connection to the OBDII, however would be nicer for me if it was also battery powered and the usb port used only to recharge battery. i dont care for a messy look of cables everywhere. by the way, is there anything like what i just mentioned?
+Daniel Debacker I don't have one but I believe it's possible. This unit does not have an OBD2 receiver but it should recognize the power coming from the OBD2. Let see what dial2fast will say because he has everything to test it.
Do you know whether it is available the HUD always on without any movement? When I stop the car around 5 mins having it on, the HUD is turned off automatically and not come back on during driving. You mentioned in the video about this case, I would like to keep the HUD on. Do you have any idea?
Hi you reviews was good ,but you din't show the GPS working. Also I would like to know (1) If the GPS work would it work in West Africa ?? and would it work also in Europe
How come you got the time correct? Mine is the same as you but I haven't got the time correct yet. My time zone is New York time zone. I set it to 17 but don't get the time correct. Any suggestions?
How if that area is without gps signal? meaning the hud is unusable without gps signal? Will the MPH reading be delay or slower since is using GPS signal? Does this unit support RPM as well?
I like the idea of a HUD readout for a car. But why a GPS? Your iPhone or Car GPs do the same? yes > in price but u have directions which you can ignore if your familiar with the place you are going, common sense.
A small piece of angled plastic(with sides) placed in front of the unit to hide it would be awesome. If the plastic was the same color as the dashboard it would all look stock if the wire is hidden well-
can you help me? just bought mine and it can't find a satellite its been searching for atleast 20-30 mins and still keep flashing.. plus the speed doesnt show..
+LazyScoutJace Since devices like this DO get it the way of their revenue from speeding tickets and increased insurance they might well pass some BS fascist law to protect same.
Isn't the speed displayed by this unit is actually the real speed? You should be adjusting car's speedometer based upon this unit rather than vice versa!
+12vgs8606 Very good point but I am not sure if setting the HUD speed reading to value of 100% means it's truly 100% accurate. It could very well be, I am just not sure. I think for most users, they are using these HUD just as an extension of their instrument cluster. Thanks for your comment!
GPS is actually more accurate than the vehicles speedometer, my speedometer on my car is off by roughly 5 mph and so i use my Garmin to measure the speed, and i've actually verified it with the roadside police radar gun "your speed is" devices and its been dead on accurate
GPS can vary your position by quite a bit under many circumstances, especially near buildings. Unless you changed tire sizes or drive a Model T there is no way it's more accurate than your car's speedometer.
lol, are you aware that GPS is only accurate up to a certain point? It can be off by as much as 300". It's kinda hard to accurately gauge speed when your location is 300" off. It's really not that difficult of a concept.
I thought the gps function allows you to see the traffic signals, the gps adresses and all like that… but it seems the function is only useful for not connecting to the ODB2 port … :-( dislike for that (i mean, the product, the vídeo is perfect)
If suddenly no GPS satellites existed, I suspect we'll have more to worry about than how fast the car is going. I'm thinking a giant asteroid just took them out, or Russia, China.... or aliens. Just sayin'...
Thankyou so much for this video - it helped me out immensley - stopping and starting the video as I worked through it.
Thank you, this was a great informative review. I have not yet received mine, when I do this video review will be very helpful. Again thank you.
The Q7 HUD is good,it can be used to any car and truck, because it connect the cigarette lighter by car charge
Great video, thanks very much, very professional 🙂
how did you finally manage to set the correct time for your appropriate time zone??
Ever get the click fixed? Daylight at 22:40 should only be achievable in Alaska in Summer, I think??

awesome video, very clear explanation, thank you :)
Can you power it up with the obd2 cable of an other hud with usb connection instead of the cigaret lighter?
+Daniel Debacker I don't have one but I believe it's possible. This unit does not have an OBD2 receiver but it should recognize the power coming from the OBD2. Let see what dial2fast will say because he has everything to test it.
great video. im really considering buying this item. did you ever figure out how to fix the time?

Me too have the same issue, and I have to manually press the toggle switch.
really helpful video thank you

i wish i knew what the timezone was.Wisconsin in the US isnt listed on any of the settings. It is central time
How come you got the time correct? Mine is the same as you but I haven't got the time correct yet. My time zone is New York time zone. I set it to 17 but don't get the time correct. Any suggestions?
Which one is better, A8 or Q7?
Thank you, it helped me a lot
Which HUD have you found to be the best? By the way you live in the same area. Lol I can tell by the landmarks.
How if that area is without gps signal? meaning the hud is unusable without gps signal? Will the MPH reading be delay or slower since is using GPS signal? Does this unit support RPM as well?
+jackyloong2020 If no GPS, then no speed reading. Does not support RPM.
which head up display would give me the most info for only OBD 1? its for my 94 rx7, im very interested but cant find details on anything for my car.
Hi
What is the input village range for the female mini usb port in the hud body?
TKS
I would like know if there is clock change from 24 hours to 12 hours. How can I switch clock hours.
How do adjust for daylight savings? Hour forward or hour back?
Maybe next they can add a FLIR display !
Can this device be set to display speed only, without the clock and the other clutter?
I like the idea of a HUD readout for a car. But why a GPS? Your iPhone or Car GPs do the same? yes > in price but u have directions which you can ignore if your familiar with the place you are going, common sense.
Can you change the color display to green? Would like it to match my instrument display.
You could probably open it up, take out the current LED Color & install a new one, idk.
nice new model
what happens when you unplug it? will it still save the data you entered? TIA.
+Mark John Francisco Yes the settings are saved
ok I don't get it what's the use of this thing if you can read all that from your dashboard
You can not keep your eyes straight ahead watching the road and down your eyes reading the speedmeater on dashborad at the same time.
DamienYok how can I switch on sound bescuse it want off
Does it have statistic save of the miles records?
+Enrique Llaurado Don't believe it does that
Like all but two HUD's I've seen the RPM upper range is too low.
It needs to be between 8K to 9K (My car's redline is 8200).
How did you fix the time software glitch.I have 53:33 display any time after 6 pm.
+Frightline777 There is no way to flash it with any new software after purchasing. It's a problem with the software.
A small piece of angled plastic(with sides) placed in front of the unit to hide it would be awesome.
If the plastic was the same color as the dashboard it would all look stock if the wire is hidden well-
good video, pretty cool
Where is the part about the GPS ?
can you help me? just bought mine and it can't find a satellite its been searching for atleast 20-30 mins and still keep flashing.. plus the speed doesnt show..
The only thing I can suggest is make sure you have clear view of the sky for it to lock. Other than that, it should work.
how to speed alarm?? I set 60mile but it does not sound.
I have q7 how do I adjust the time
Would this even be legal in California? I really want to get this, but am afraid I would be hassled by the CHP.
+LazyScoutJace Since devices like this DO get it the way of their revenue from speeding tickets and increased insurance they might well pass some BS fascist law to protect same.
Is this legal in Wisconsin?

excuse me? Are you saying speedometer is more accurate than GPS?

you need to change the tittle to lc display only not gps
0:52 "There's a back" Really? Haha!
is this GPS works worldwide?
+jan khan Yes
How about RPMs?
The "5" might be an "S" denoting daylight savings time.
I thought the gps function allows you to see the traffic signals, the gps adresses and all like that… but it seems the function is only useful for not connecting to the ODB2 port … :-( dislike for that (i mean, the product, the vídeo is perfect)
Well it's a lot clearer than other models, too bad it has a giant stupid Clock function
it's not gonna be accurate b'cause its using gps
what a waste of money . what happen if there's
no gps or the satellite down?
If suddenly no GPS satellites existed, I suspect we'll have more to worry about than how fast the car is going. I'm thinking a giant asteroid just took them out, or Russia, China.... or aliens. Just sayin'...
HUD New model
do not record it that close dude...from a normal person view pls.....
you're right lol who's going to be that close to the hud? he zoomed in because everyone else zoomed in lol sheep?
151
second
that is a very lame HUD the only useful information is the MPH
first
jeez that was boring...
