In this video I have discussed Adverbial Complement . First of all I tried to clear the concept of Complement .
A Complement is a word or a group of words that complete the meaning of a sentence. It is an essential part of a sentence . Without it , a sentence becomes meaningless. Adverbial Complement gives us information about the verb by modifying it. For example- 1) Don't put this book on the table 2) She is at home .
Adverbial Complements always appear after the verb they complement .
If the verb is transitive , the complement will appear after the Verb's direct object.
If the verb is intransitive , the complement will appear directly after the verb .
Finally I have shown the difference between Complement and Adjunct. Complement is the essential part of the Sentence whereas Adjunct is the additional part of the Sentence.
