any incident involving an officer should be investigated by an independent third party. way to much bias to allow them to determine their own fate. they will protect their own even if they are in the wrong.
The truck drivers attorney is my friend! I am just seeing this for the first time and i am so proud of him and am so glad the truck driver had him as his attorney. The troopers should be ashamed of themselves but probably arent. Hope this truck driver isnt dealing with risidual PTSD from this ENTIRE farce and witch hunt. Yeah, believe a rookie stater versus a veteran long haul driver...gimme a break. Go Lucas McWethy!!!
Are we at all surprised that a bunch of cops lied and tried to ruin a man’s life? NOPE. Typical behavior. I hope the truck driver sues for lost income.
I have respect for most police officers but this situation was outrageously unethical not to mention just plain nasty. If the police want the respect and trust from the public they need to be above lying. In my opinion they need to pay for this man's attorney fee's at the very least. Plus, WSP needs to discipline any of the officers involved for trying to sabotage this man's livelihood and reputation by accusing him of drunk driving with no evidence that he was. They need to man up and take the blame for their mistakes. When the police act like this this it adds to publics perception that all police are bad.
I guarantee you that this isn't the first time they've done this. If it wasn't for King 5 you can bet that the case against the truck driver would have continued.
Rolling? You need to get up to a bit faster speed than 5-10 mph ACROSS the highway. It is obvious that the patrol didn't take in consideration the truckers distance and speed upon executing his Rolling maneuver.
They use the field sobriety tests as further video evidence. Most people will go through the tests, but once they mention a breathalyzer they get upset and refuse on the spot. Which then means the long process of going into the hospital for an involuntary blood draw. Most drunk idiots think they can pass the field tests, so they agree. The field tests help with video evidence of intoxication. Refusing a breathalyzer just prolongs the entire process.
3:25 "This might seem like the kind of thing that happens all the time, right? People argue over who is at fault over the car crash." - YES it DOES HAPPEN ALL THE TIME - Police trying to cover their negligence by claiming the driver who hit them was intoxicated. The trooper cadet patrol officer had one month on the job, he shouldn't have been allowed to drive without a supervisor on board and the manoeuvre he made was totally unpredictable. Good luck to Mr. Sean Falchf on getting some kind of compensation from this outrageous attempted coverup. The other three troopers who said they could smell alcohol on him should also be re-trained!
Correction: The other three troopers who said they could smell alcohol on him should also be re-trained!, they should be fired and accreditation removed there will never be justice for anyone they pull over as they have proved themselves to be liars on legal documents.
This is completely not right, this is a HUGE cover-up. Me being a CDL driver, we take our profession pretty seriously, I hope that driver sues the heck out of the WSP, the trooper was in the wrong and they know it. Dash Cam Video does not lie and even a WSP Crash Investigator says the driver was not at fault. C'mon!!
Near where I lived I'd seen this one officer perform this stunt on the freeway 3 times. He would suddenly slow down and start weaving across all lanes. He would do this simply to slow traffic down. First time he ran a corvette off the road. Second time he caused an accident as all traffic had to suddenly come to a near stop, one truck could not stop in time and overturned. Instead of making it safer he made the freeway more dangerous. I wished highway patrol would stop this tactic.
At least in San Bernardino County, California, the CHP investigates vehicle incidents involving the County Sheriff and vice versa. That is not a perfect scenario, but it is better than the CHP or Sheriff investigating themselves. Perhaps each state needs an independent group to investigate incidents involving the state police/highway patrol.
HOW is that the trooper's fault????? Truck SLAMS INTO him from behind, despite siren & rollers going. Troopers are now gonna be found at fault FOR DOING THEIR JOBS???????
I mean I see these traffic break maneuvers all the time in California, CHP does them, but usually they position an officer further back and begin the weaving at some speed. You want to be rolling about. This officer was too close to the operation he was trying to protect with the slow down and started it way too slow, in addition while this type of operation is done routinely in California and most motorists have experienced one, I’ve never once seen it done in Washington, or any state other then California and so motorists in this area aren’t even expecting this
Watching that video it does not look like the truck driver did reduce his speed though but at the same time I can see the trooper being at fault as well
Did you see the speedometer? Or are you just using the blurry video, and assuming you can tell what his speed is let alone if his foot was on the brake...
Trooper was going way too slow for a rolling slowdown. That said. WTF was that trucker doing. That cop was visiblely Lit up and driving erratically. Dude needed to slow way down and not blow by a trooper that is all lit up.
You can tell that the expert and people interviewing the truck driver is one sided. It clearly shows that the truck driver was at fault and did not pay attention. He barely even reacted when he hit the cop. Look at his damn facial expression. Why was the truck driver in the fast lane? Why was he not slowing down when he seen the patrol light on? He legit admits that he seen the cop but yet does not reduce his speed? He knows the truck can’t immediately stop but continues to drive normally? Make it make sense. Truck driver knows he’s at fault but is trying to save his own ass (which is typical when you get into a car accident). Whether you are pro cop or anti cop, if you guys are on the truckers side you clearly blind or bias or even both. SMH…
@@abaymine3380 like I mention above, “he knows the truck can’t immediately stop but continues to drive normally” I agree that trucks can’t immediately stop which refers back to the questions I was asking why was he not SLOWING DOWN when he seen the patrol lights ahead? and why was he driving in the FAST lane? I still stand by my comment where I think it’s the truckers fault but those are real important questions to ask.

Absolutely disgusting behavios by WSP in this case, and all involved should be fired for trying to ruin an innocent man's life.

I want all the officer's names exposed that ignored their own technician. Not just the lieutenant but whoever else signed off or had a say so. 🤔

Holy crap! WSP spokesman admitting wrong doing on camera. Someone call Ripley's!
The field sobriety tests should be scrapped. Put suspected drivers directly on the breathalyser.

Cop was wrong
Thirty years later and the stink of Bud Light is still on his breath.
Put them all on the Brady List
Probably going to give all the cops promotion. In the meantime the truck driver is hit with a hefty attorney bill.
Dont they always i almost got hit and he pulled me over body cams and car cameras should always be recording them

Yeah, that's not at all how you do a traffic-break...
He should suit the officers!
I can't understand why people are fleeing Washington 😂😂😂😂. CORRUPTION

That's retaliation and that is Federal violation of Constitutional rights. Trucking company should hire an attorney.

Disgusting conduct by HP Caught in there lies
All cops involved testifying there was an odor should be fired and charged with lying and conspiracy. The driver did NOTHING wrong. The 'cops' did
Cops fault 100%
Innocent mistake.
Bad cops covering their a$$e$.
This is why we need journalists.

This kind of shit just goes unchecked in red states. Trucker would probably be in jail and they found weed in his truck or something lol
But the street gangs now days will retaliation agains cops, especially the Mexican cartels. Those gangs are crazy
typical police BS , lie about odor

So basically, the truck driver did not yield to an emergency vehicle. Sounds like the driver is at fault.

You can't possibly be this daft. The charges were dropped and the Washington State Patrol admitted fault
