    Out of all the coin collectors videos I've glossed over throughout the past several years, you've always been the best and most hopeful in regard to coin hunting and potential value. Keep it up.

    Be there Blue Ridge! Another video nailed. It used to be that the 1953 and 1954 San Francisco minted Jeffersons were the toughest to find in high grades let alone with full steps on them because these strikes were absolutely awful. Now anything in the 1960s, particularly 60 through 64 are extremely difficult to find in 66 or higher, especially with full steps. As alwaysBlue Ridge, great content!!!

    I found an antiques mall north of the city with many coin guys. One guy had 2 SMS 1964 nickels in absolute perfect condition. I took them both for 8 bucks each lol. About to send in for grading. Soooo $16 ---> $60,000. Good investment.

      Scott Hall look into star notes type it in on ebay and be prepared to be shocked
      These are regular paper money that have a tinny star next to the serial number and go for 3x if not slightly more then face value just because they have the star
      There’s also “special” serial number ones and web notes in still confused about these ones but they go for more then face value and would be worth pulling aside but it’s confusing to tell what’s good or not (web notes were printed in $1 only in the early 80s) they were printed on a roll instead of in a sheet that’s the only difference

    The only thing that dictates price is demand, rarity and grade mean little. The Ike dollars you mentioned earlier are a good example or better yet the state quarters hot in the beginning, a 70 set would set you back 5000 dollars now you can get one for around 800.

    Another good one. Thanks the for good intel, Sean. And, Sean, is there any timetable on the "How To Take Great Coin Photographs With Cell Phones" video? I've been wanting to post some coins on ebay but I can't seem to get the lighting or focus quite right. It would be like I was trying to hide the true condition my coins if I couldn't be bothered to get that much right, so I've been waiting....for the opportunity to learn from one of my peers. But if the coin photography video isn't slated for immediate future, perhaps an emailed response briefly outlining your process and procedures to getting the results that work best for you. Really, any help you could possibly provide given your level of expertise in this area would greatly be appreciated.
    Thanks again, Sean.
    Kerry
    P.S. Now for something completely off the subject; has anyone ever told you look just like younger Curly of Three Stooges fame?
    I saw a documentary video on them recently, and now every time I watch your videos I'm stuck by the similarities. Anyway, no offense intended, just thought I'd mention it...probably a bad idea. Ive had more than a few lately. Thanks.

    What about 1980-90 dimes and nickels in fine condition I just saw that 1980s quarters especially 83 is worth TONS if in fine condition
    Are these worth pulling aside or are they only face value
    My definition of fine condition is they barely look worn but aren’t overly shinny anymore unlike like brand new coins

    • @copper2s523
      @copper2s523 5 лет назад +1

      If there is a large mint mark above Monticello, it is a "War" nickel as those nickels with the large mint mark above Monticello were minted between 1942 and 1945 (during World War II). They also have a 35% silver content.

    what if you find a 64 p nickel with partial steps and looks pretty good to the eye, no scratches and looks new(still have to look at it under a microscope)..to me it looks at least like a ms66 but i'm no expert though i wish i could get opinions. there needs to be a website that gives free estimate appraisals that actually works. i have a hard time using heritage auctions to send pictures of coins to be appraised, freely that is.

    I have a few I used to think they were silver like the quarters and dimes of that year but there not only nickels dated 1942-1945 are silver it may be 1940 it’s been awhile so I forgot the exact years
