- This morning Shabani was very hungry and seemed a little irritable.
(The amount of breakfast that was handed out was about the same as usual).
The ai was taken away from Shabani, but it was nice to see her snuggling up to him without getting angry, as if she cared about Shabani's irritability!

Sweet Nené Age is really showing, She looks more Frail every day. She has lived longer then most but can’t imagine this family without her, IT Will be a Very Sad day when she isn’t there anymore. Wondering if Gorilla’s Greave like humans in a way? And do they understand death. So many of us are so attached to this Family even though we are million miles away, We Love them! ❤❤❤❤❤, I hope Annie can be paired with a Mate and have beautiful babies of her own.
I believe they grieve, just like I believe they get jealous, they feel the same emotions we do. I saw a doco in the wild, 2 black backs were looking for their dad & they found him dead. They were distraught & one of them groomed him even eating the dead skin.😫 I know in zoo's they give the family a few days to say goodbye.
Precious Nene. The look she gave Shabani when he took her food. When Shabani took Ai's food she just took it in stride. I like how chilled Ai is. Perhaps they need more food

Their food is weighed and the gorillas are weighed constantly to ensure they get enough. Shabani is just reminding them he's king and will eat like one 😂. That's Shabani, Gentaro and Haoko throwing a strop this week 😂😂
They might weight their food, but they are all skinny and none of them have the typical gorilla stomach, except for shabani.
Maybe because this troop are very energetic and exercises all the time? And Momotoro troop big huge stomachs are primary for eating inferior food that gives them gas tummies!’

I have never seen them get fed very much between all of them,Gorillas eat a LOT of food,it's no wonder they are fighting they are hungry.

Initially, it was like shabani blast from the past but I think nene's keeper usurped his authority regarding nene's food allotment. He made it clear that should not be happening. Don't blame him for being pissed 😤 off.
They are doing the same thing with genki, and people can't understand why this makes the silverback mad.
They were saying the other day Shabani was gonna boycott or protest the zoo keeper giving Nene snacks. I think thats why he threw dirt at her.
Shabani threw that big dirt clod at them. They need to give them more food or Shabani gets mad. Usually they have plenty of it. I wonder what changed?
Nene used to make Shabani so happy when she was his #1 wife. It seemed like Shabani & Nene were mating more than they were eating. After Nene retired, I thought Ai would become the wife #1. But Ai never seemed to be interested in fully committing to him. Shabani is still young enough to have more beautiful babies. Shabani doesn't need more food, he needs a wife.
Shabani isn't hungry he's horney, Nene if you give your hubby some sugar he might be nicer to you. Ai is the only one who doesn't have food aggression.😋

Yes, i think he is envious of Nene's food bc he specifically singled out Nene and not Ai while she was eating her veggies.
It seems if the keepers want to give Nene extra food and/or make sure she gets enough to eat, maybe they should do that privately where the rest of the family can’t see it. The family may wonder where she is, but that’s better than all of them ganging up on Nene or making Shabani furious…kind of defeats the purpose..my opinion.
They all looked like they were starving. Nene was chasing after ai. Not sure why, it's not like she can do anything to her. Lol.
Shabani looked a bit annoyed, Poor Nene always gets a smack from him for doing nothing. Ai is a good wife she understands her husbands ways

The zoo could make a much better habitat for them instead of cement and bars. I would much rather watch them in the wild on video.
Japan is full of concrete zoo's, what the hell were they thinking. There is on troop that has the best enclosure, the troop are very happy & with 2 little one's climbing trees and jumping off them is a sight to behold. The D'jeeco troop in Taipei, Taiwan. Check it out.
It’s a shame. They deserve to live outside the constant eyes and sounds of humans.
